  1. Just bought my 2016 ford fusion energi everything works great all besides not being able to utilize the EV button as even when the car is fully charged it displays "EV Now Not Available" and will not allow me to use anything other than auto, I have not seen any posts about this issue and was wondering if anyone knows anything about fixing the issue Ps. I do charge the vehicle to 100% when trying to use EV button
  2. Thinking about going to this Show to see all the latest Info. https://evtechexpo.com/useful-information Paul
  3. Hello. Does anyone know how to get the best acceleration or torque on an Energi? What EV setting works best to get the maximum acceleration in situations like entering a freeway or quickly maneuvering out of a dangerous situation? I'm still learning how to use EV modes at optimum times and read something about putting the car in EV Later mode. The vast majority of my daily commute consists of city driving and I'm only on the freeway about 5-10% of the time, but during that small time I noticed decreased acceleration compared to my old 2014 regular Fusion Hybrid. Any ideas? Thanks.
  4. The following posts describe an experiment I performed the other day with the car to understand the forces and their effect on the motion of an EV. For the first part of the experiment, I drove the car with cruise control set to various speeds along the same section of road and measured the electrical input power and mechanical output power of the motor required to maintain constant speed. This allowed me to plot the power required to overcome friction (aerodynamic drag, tire rolling resistance, and internal frictions) as a function of speed. Next I did a coast down on the same section of road. With the car in neutral, I recorded time vs. speed as the car slowed down. I also recorded the power output of the motor. The power output of the motor is negative during coast down. Internal friction inside the motor is slowing the car down. The outside temperature was 63 F. There was no wind. The road that I am using is level to within 1.5 feet. I drove the car for approximately 20 miles, with the ICE running, prior to the experiment. I wanted to make sure the car was thoroughly warmed up before starting. The temperature of the drivetrain components in a car have a huge impact on the internal friction within the car. When cold, the car will require significantly much more energy to maintain constant speed. As the car warms up, each time I repeated a portion of the experiment, I would get very different results.
  5. Hello, I am a new owner of a 2015 Fusion Energi. I have had it for 1 week. Average commute - 40 miles each way. I can plug in at work. I am getting about a 25 mile range on EV, and I am averaging 70 MPG combined. Wow! what a nice car. I am very impressed.
  6. This weekend of September 28 - 29, 2013, events across the US and other countries PHEV and EVers are going to celebrate the third annual National Plug In Day, are you? I plan to be at the Maryland Suburb in College Park: http://www.pluginday.org/event.php?eventid=6 Check for you local gathering: National: http://www.pluginday.org/index.php?source=pia Let's get the Fusion Energi and C-Max Energis there!
