Monday, June 12, visited friends in Winter Park, FL - one had 2013 Ford Fusion Energi, the other had 2015 C-Max Energi. I drove and rode in both. Wednesday, June 14 went to Ford Dealership in New Smyrna Beach. Checked out interior and exterior colors and trim. Vehicle relocated from West Palm Beach to New Smyrna Beach Thursday, June 15, paid my favorite Uncle his 1/4erly estimate, went to dealership, bought 2017 Ford Fusion Titanium with 11.8k miles, just coming off a corporate lease, loaded with most all options. Friday, June 16, spent most of day reading manual, researching best garage AC system, and taking my ride for a quick spin marveling at the mileage per gallon. My family had always been Chevy/Toyota/Honda buyers for many years. My good ole' boy brother's favorite line is "I'd rather push a Chevrolet than drive a Ford". Well, my mindset changed after my Monday experience with the 2013 Fusion and 2015 C-Max. I was very impressed enough to change longtime car allegiances. For our application, now retired, and driving less in Daytona Beach, this was the best fit. Got within $1,000 of buying a Acura TLX a week ago, checked out Honda CRV's and was about to take a "wait and see" attitude until Monday, and having my friends speak so effusively about their vehicles. Then my research and reviews validated their claims. I pulled the trigger and so far am glad that I did. I'm as green as one can be with Fords, and the features, and pros/cons of the Fusion Energi. Am going to research past posts for answers on garage chargers, how to utilize the apps and features, and what apps to use on my phone, and on and on. So congrats to Ford for converting me and any wisdom your with your years of experience will be appreciated. NewTimes in Daytona Beach

My car has 11k mostly EV miles. I use a Level 2 charger at work every day and 120V outlet at home during the night. I can charge fully at work with no problems. The last few days it only charges about halfway at home. In the morning the charger is flashing the amber outlet-shaped light. The outlet I'm using is grounded, has a cover over it to keep it dry and had been working fine since it was installed when I got the car a year ago. Any ideas what's going on?

Hi everyone! Newbie here. :baby: We purchased a 2014 Energi Titanium two weeks ago with roughly 25k miles on it from a used car dealership in Cleveland, OH. I noticed the charger cable was not in the truck and was told one would be ordered and sent to me. Well, after a week I called the service dept. to get an ETA and they said "they're still looking" for one. Sounds to me like they're looking for a used one and are either not finding one, or not finding one cheap enough. :waiting: So while I wait for it, I am researching other cables and charging station options. We do not own our home (my husband's job provides housing) so a hardwired installation in the garage isn't feasible. We do - I believe - have 240v access from old window units, and our fuse box is brand new and in the garage. Where can I get an inexpensive but quality cable to use at home? Which brands do you recommend? Are Ford ones available outside of the dealer? We really like it so far - and would LOVE IT if we could start driving it in EV now mode. My husband's commute is less than a half mile. And help and suggestions are appreciated! :woot:

Has anyone tried to charge an Energi with the Volt or Leaf L1 charger that come with those cars? I recently tried a Volt charger from a 2011 model. On those you can select the charge rate on the charger itself and both the 12A and 8A settings didn't work on my Fusion. I was even more curios if anyone has tried a Leaf charger as those seem to be the cheapest option on Ebay for buying a second portable charger.

See picture. There's a red warning triangle with an exclamation lit up on my 110 volt charger adapter brick. Car is not charging now. I reseated the J1772 connector and unplugged the adapter brick to reset everything but there was no improvement. The smartphone app just says the car is waiting to charge.Value charge is off and car already synced. The blue ring lights up briefly so the car seems to know it's plugged in.

From the album: Security
Prevent your charger cable from being stolen by this DIY project. Use a bike lock and a master/pad lock secured to a pole near your charging spot or park your vehicle tire on top of the bike lock to prevent your cord from being stolen. -
Hi Everyone, I leased a Fusion Energi Titanium this past weekend and I love it. I've created a blog to share what I'm learning about the car. The forum admins here have granted me permission to post links to my blog articles here for discussion. Please have a read and post comments on this forum thread: Choosing a charger for your Ford Fusion Energi I'd prefer to promote this forum and have discussions here rather than on my blog.
