I just traded in my 2016 Energi for a 2019! I hate that they got rid of the USB ports inside the center console and only have the two below the radio. They left a covering where they were mounted in previous gens so I'm wondering if anyone has added USBs back to that spot or knows if the wiring is still in place that they could be easily added. I'm thinking it would be pretty easy to tie into a power wire for charging, but it'd be nice to have full use of them for android auto, data, etc. Thank you!

So I have looked in my owner's guide and in the workshop manual and I cannot find specifications for using the USB drive in my 2016 FFE. So I am wondering if the USB drive supports USB-3 or nor before I go and purchase a dedicated thumb drive for my car to store my music on. Anyone know or is there another publication I have overlooked? USB-3 is backward compatible and I have read that people are using USB-3 drives but I was wondering if this system can even take advantage of the faster data rate... or will it make no difference? And of course, there seems to be a limit of storage size before the system becomes slow to index or respond. Recommendations? :headscratch:

HELP! No matter what I try, playlists will not work properly or at all on 2015 FFE with MFT. I use Windows Media Player and Windows 7. Music files are in compatible .wma format. I've tried playlist formats .wpl, .pla and .m3u I started with my old mp3 player. All songs loaded fine but indexing was very slow. A couple incomplete playlists showed but that's all. Bought a PNY 128gb USB. Sync'd all the files (@ 40 gbs) via WMP, checked the drive and no playlists were showing. Copied/pasted the playlists manually onto the USB drive (into root and into folder) and neither works. Playlist titles will show but playlists show as empty and will not play. Saw other members comments on software called SyncPlaylist. Downloaded program but it now says I need to install Java, which I've been living happily without for some time. Is this program going to solve my problems and if so is it worth the risk with java? My music is very important to me and I researched this thoroughly prior to purchase and all Ford documentation indicates that Sync (powered by Microsoft) will play .wma files and WMP playlists. This makes sense as everything in this chain is a Microsoft product. So why doesn't it work for me and can anyone share a solution? Thanks :)
