Hi All, I love my new Fusion Energy Titanium and have enjoyed every one of the first 1,500 miles. The charging port door popped off in my hands twice. I thought it seemed delicate, but I had never had a plug-in car before and didn't know what to expect. Then it fell off while I was driving or, as the dealer service department suggests, was vandalized. (The port is not on the street side of the car when parked). Now I am discussing the repair with the dealer service team. They say that it is not a known problem and is not covered under the new car warranty. The Parts Dept quoted $71 for the door itself and $131 for the housing it sits in. This does not include labor painting or installation. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks for your help. Has anyone had this issue? When plugging in my Ford Fusion Energi to a Level 1 or Level 2 charge I get a flashing ring port (I heard it called "the flashing ring of death") and it never charges. I am heading to the dealer this morning to see if I can get any help. [Video] http://youtu.be/UX-PZa2Wtzk On the inside display I see "Fault - Inside Car". I have had my Fusion for more then a year and I love my car. This is the first major issue I have had. I hate driving on gas so I need to get this fixed.

My Energi is a 2014 with about 50,000 miles on it. The other day I noticed when I went to plug it in to charge it I did not hear the audible click sound, from a relay or something, that I had heard in the past. I also noticed that I no longer see the light ring around the charging port light up in sequence. When it is charging the 1st segment does not light up. However the 2nd and 3rd do. The 4th does not. Also, when the car is done charging the lights are supposed to go out, but the 2nd & 3rd remain on. Overall, the "miles" from a full charge see to be down to between 18 and 20 miles, where this time of the year due to the warm weather I would see in past years the value at 22 miles or above. Inside the car it says 100% charged. The indicator light on the charger says it is done charging and not charging the car any more. Is a failure of the charging port on the car a known and common occurrence? I have not gone to the dealer yet, came here for advice first.
