I just sold my 2018 Fusion Hybrid and bought a 2020 Fusion Energi. I live in an apartment and home charging is not an option. I am Intending to drive it like my Hybrid and bypass the EV charging option. I am a local driver so I don’t need to drive it on EV. Li-ion batteries don’t need to be topped off or even fully charge. Does anyone see a problem with my by-passing EV charging. Richard

I leased a 2014 Ford Fusion Energi in August, 2014. Had vehicle for nine days and absolutely loved it. However, on the ninth day I was approaching cars stopped at a light (at approximately 10-15 mph) and as I attempted to apply the brakes my vehicle wouldn't stop but just slowed slightly. The best way to describe the feel is comparing it to trying to stop a moving vehicle that has power brakes but the engine stalled. I pressed down on the brakes as hard as I could but to no avail and I ended up hitting the vehicle stopped at the light. There was no damage to the vehicle in front of me (other than a slightly bent muffler pipe that pierced my plastic bumper). The damage to my vehicle was the front grill, hood and both front fenders. My insurance company is referring to it as a "constructive total loss" as the damage doesn't exceed the value of the vehicle but they are totaling it out anyway for safety reasons (???). My fusion only had about 200 miles on it. I am very curious if anyone else has experienced this problem with the brakes. I look forward to any replies. Thank you

Hello! I just received my 2017 Ford Fusion Energi Platinum that I ordered 10 weeks ago last Tuesday. Every since then, I've been trying to set up MyFord Mobile, but I can never reach the step of getting the on-screen prompt in the car. I've read through many posts on this forum and have tried several combinations of deleting the account, re-registering, resetting, unplugging the negative connection to the battery in the trunk, etc..., but I still have had no luck. I've been able to get FordPass to connect, but it doesn't have any of the cool features for the Energi like MFM would. In fact, when using FordPass, it says that I have an Energi and that I need to use MyFord Mobile to connect to the car. Every time I have registered the car, I have used the VIN. I wanted to try using the ESN, but I believe there may be an issue. On the 'About Sync' screen in the car it displays information about SYNC 3 Software Version, Onboard Modem Serial Number (ESN), Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Gracenote Version, Navigation Maps Version, and SYNC Serial Number (ESN). For Onboard Modem Serial Number, there is no value. Just a blank. When I try to use the SYNC Serial Number, it says that it is not compatible with MyFord Mobile. This has me thinking that the ESN I need is the Onboard Modem Serial Number. Since after all my tries, this value has always been blank, is that the reason I can not get to the confirmation step on MFM? Maybe the Onboard Modem isn't functional? Is that the ESN that I really need? Any assistance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Anyone experiencing intermittent transmission problems with their FFE? I have an almost-new 2015 Ford Fusion Energi with 3400 miles on it that, for the past two weeks, has been suffering an intermittent transmission-related problem. During the few minutes of a trip, the car will either jerk/shudder under light acceleration, or jerk during light to moderate braking. It may do this for a few moments, and then stop, and not reoccur for the rest of the trip. The problem is intermittent - it doesn't happen on every trip, or on a particular trip, but the problem has been experienced with both a cold or warm car. It also occurs both using the electric motor, and the ICE. The car has been used for commuting back and forth to work, and the occasional short trip (~50 miles). It's been treated gently during this entire time. Otherwise, the car shows no other signs of trouble. An under hood inspection has turned up no loose connections. No trouble codes have been set. And I haven't figured out how to get the problem to repeat consistently. I'll take this into the dealership once the problem is consistent enough that a tech will be able to recreate it. Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated - thanks.

Does it have one? or did they sacrifice it for the larger battery? What about the standard 2013 FFH - does it have a spare and is it std size or compact? Thanks.

Hi All, I love my new Fusion Energy Titanium and have enjoyed every one of the first 1,500 miles. The charging port door popped off in my hands twice. I thought it seemed delicate, but I had never had a plug-in car before and didn't know what to expect. Then it fell off while I was driving or, as the dealer service department suggests, was vandalized. (The port is not on the street side of the car when parked). Now I am discussing the repair with the dealer service team. They say that it is not a known problem and is not covered under the new car warranty. The Parts Dept quoted $71 for the door itself and $131 for the housing it sits in. This does not include labor painting or installation. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks for your help. Deb

Has anyone had this issue? When plugging in my Ford Fusion Energi to a Level 1 or Level 2 charge I get a flashing ring port (I heard it called "the flashing ring of death") and it never charges. I am heading to the dealer this morning to see if I can get any help. [Video] http://youtu.be/UX-PZa2Wtzk On the inside display I see "Fault - Inside Car". I have had my Fusion for more then a year and I love my car. This is the first major issue I have had. I hate driving on gas so I need to get this fixed.

Hi All, Like a lot of you My Ford Mobile quit working for us two weeks ago. MFM has been working fine every since the modem replacement was done back in February 2016. It can't be a coincidence that AT&T is shutting down its 2G networks and now MFM has stopped working for a lot of MFM customers. I have a theory that when the dealer replaced the modem they took out the original 2G modem and put in another 2G modem. From talking to the service manager he did say that the way that program was carried out was highly disorganized and the techs have no idea if the replacement modems they were receiving were the new ones or just another 2G. Currently my system inforamation is showing the CPPM ENS is "UNKNOWN" so either the TCU has failed or there's no one answering its call perhaps because it's trying to phone home on a frequency where no one is listening anymore. I am trying to find the TCU/modem in our 2016 C-Max Energi but its location seems to be a well guarded secret. Pretty sure it is in the rear of the car some place but so far I've pulled ever panel and not seeing anything that looks like what I need. I did find the keyless entry model in the rear behind a panel on the left side of the interior but I don't think that is also the TCU? Does anyone know where the TCU is and what it looks like?

Hello, My app will no longer work, it did this several months ago and I had to delete the car and re-do it a few times. Lately it's been working intermittently but then stopped working. I did a master reset from the car and also deleted the app and deleted the car. It worked when I did this several months ago but not anymore. When it gets to the screen to conform from the car's screen nothing happens. I've cancelled the conformation and re-did it but still nothing happens. I have the correct VIN entered. I called the Ford 800 number and they said it may be software or firmware. They said I am on software version 3.7 and it needs to be updated to 3.10. And the firmware is on 1.4.3 and it needs to be on 1.4.6. She said I would have to go to the dealer and pay for these. It just doesn't seem right that I bought my car almost 3yrs ago with the ability to precondition the car and I can no longer do it and if I want to then I have to pay for it. After it stopped working several days ago, I set a GO time for 6am but it did nothing and when I got to work I noticed it started the car at 7. I have the correct time set. But when I used to get a text notification that the car was charged it was always off an hour. Then last night I tried to set the GO time and no it will not let me, nothing happens when I tap the ON button. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks SORRY, I PLACED THIS IN THE INCORRECT SECTION, BUT I DON'T SEE A DELETE THREAD BUTTON.

I have a 2015 Fusion Energi since new and now in the Arizona desert getting to 110° my car sometimes will not run on the battery. I charge at night and it's fine going to work and I charge on 110 at work and the battery is charged about 3 hours before I leave for work. In the last two days whenever I get in the car after work, the car won't even run on the battery. I know it takes a lot of KW's to run the AC when it's 110° but I've even tried with no AC and the Empower bar is so low that when I give it just a little gas the engine starts up. Just curious if it's the heat, or is there something wrong. I called the dealer and they said it's normal. But on my 33 mile drive home the engine ran the entire time and when I got home my trip gauge said I used 4.5kw and my EV was 0. I think my car has a 7kw battery and I don't remember how many KW's it used when I bought the car but after almost 3yrs and 60k miles I think only getting 4.5kw from the battery may be normal degradation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a 2017 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium and MFM stopped updating a few days after I got it. I called into support and they said to pull a fuse (which I couldn't find at the time) but now I don't remember which fuse they said to pull. Anyone know or do I just need to call back into support? I even took it to the dealership and they said I'd need to bring it in for service so the electrical guys could take a look. I would prefer not to do a 12V cable pull because I don't want to lose any historical data. Thanks. -Tyler

Monday, June 12, visited friends in Winter Park, FL - one had 2013 Ford Fusion Energi, the other had 2015 C-Max Energi. I drove and rode in both. Wednesday, June 14 went to Ford Dealership in New Smyrna Beach. Checked out interior and exterior colors and trim. Vehicle relocated from West Palm Beach to New Smyrna Beach Thursday, June 15, paid my favorite Uncle his 1/4erly estimate, went to dealership, bought 2017 Ford Fusion Titanium with 11.8k miles, just coming off a corporate lease, loaded with most all options. Friday, June 16, spent most of day reading manual, researching best garage AC system, and taking my ride for a quick spin marveling at the mileage per gallon. My family had always been Chevy/Toyota/Honda buyers for many years. My good ole' boy brother's favorite line is "I'd rather push a Chevrolet than drive a Ford". Well, my mindset changed after my Monday experience with the 2013 Fusion and 2015 C-Max. I was very impressed enough to change longtime car allegiances. For our application, now retired, and driving less in Daytona Beach, this was the best fit. Got within $1,000 of buying a Acura TLX a week ago, checked out Honda CRV's and was about to take a "wait and see" attitude until Monday, and having my friends speak so effusively about their vehicles. Then my research and reviews validated their claims. I pulled the trigger and so far am glad that I did. I'm as green as one can be with Fords, and the features, and pros/cons of the Fusion Energi. Am going to research past posts for answers on garage chargers, how to utilize the apps and features, and what apps to use on my phone, and on and on. So congrats to Ford for converting me and any wisdom your with your years of experience will be appreciated. NewTimes in Daytona Beach

Hello Ford Cars! We had a $1000 part fail on our 2013 Ford Fusion Energi Hybrid -- a very common part (electric sensor) -- and Ford won't give us any relief. We can't unlock the car when this happens, it won't start when this happens. It's basically useless. It will cost us $600 in labor to have it put in. A common part that fails on a regular basis costs $1600 in a 3-year-old car? How common is this? It is the telematics control unit module. Has anyone else had this problem???? They won't take it higher and are telling us our local Ford dealer made the decision. Not so fast -- they didn't make the decision -- the regional service manager SUSAN MILLER made the decision. The dealership has tried to call her a number of times and she won't return the call. Why would the regional service manager not call back a dealership that sells at a high volume in the Bay Area? The woman we spoke to on the phone at Ford today said there were hundreds of agents working there with her -- with no supervisor to talk to. She said Ford based the decision on our LVT score and it couldn’t be changed. We asked if we could find out why this claim we filed was denied. A few minutes in to the call, she said this call wasn’t being productive and she hung up on us when we were working hard to figure out our next step. Flat out hung up. We have been trying to get answers for 2 weeks. It was serviced 3 weeks prior to for this same problem and they didn't tell us about this part -- instead they said it was our battery. IS THIS REALLY THE LEVEL OF SERVICE FORD PROVIDES TO ITS CUSTOMERS? IF SO - WHY ARE WE BUYING YOUR CARS???? Please help us find some answers. PLEASE SOMEONE at FORD HELP US!!!!

I have a 2016 Fusion Energi SE with the stock sound system (4 door speakers, 2 tweeters in the front doors, and 2 6x9s in the rear deck). I'm pretty disappointed with the stock speakers and i didn't think the Sony system was worth stepping up to a titanium model when the Energi has so many of the other features standard already. So i want to upgrade the speakers but keep the stock touchscreen head unit without adding an amp but i have a few questions: 1.Does anyone know the output of the head unit to each speaker? 2. Would the Polk DB651 coax speakers work ok in the doors with that much power? - 4ohm, Sensitivity:92w, RMS:6-60w (that's what seems to be recommended on the non-hybrid fusion forums) 3. The rear deck speakers say 2ohm them, would it be alright to use a set of 4ohm Kicker ks69 6x9s?

With all this talk about Ford trying to re-launch Lincoln, I had a thought. Why don't they make Lincoln the 'environmental' brand for Ford and sell only plug in and hybrids? When I purchased my Energi, I compared it to the MKZ Hybrid.. not only was the Lincoln not available as a plug-in (don't understand that marketing move) it was hard to justify the price difference in the two cars with what just appeared to me to be trim and styling upgrades.. the Energi Titanium had all the bells and whistles and technology that the Lincoln had (myLincolnTouch? - they barely even changed the name!) However, when you walk out the door of the Ford Dealer paying a very hefty price for one of their premium cars, and return for service or parts, you certainly don't get the 'premium' experience you would expect if you spent that same amount of money over at Lexus. Why not make Lincoln the Hybrid/Energi brand - then when you pay a premium price for the car, you know you will also get premium service and support going forward - which is part of the ownership experience. My dealership experience has been night and day compared to Lexus. Just my thoughts.. I spent more on the Energi as I did my former Lexus.. love the car, but the dealer and ownership experience is very different….

My drive is typically about 10 miles on "freeway" and about 10 miles through city/surface roads. I've checked and double checked that I've locked the plugin cap properly, and about 20% of the time when I reach my destination I have noticed that he plugin cap is open. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm sure its just a slight adjustment or replacement of the cap itself... TIA!

Anyone having problems with their fusion energi's brakes grabbing in wet weather. My 2014 has 3500 miles on it and it started to grab. It only grabs when wet and on the final bit of stop. Seems like it only does it when car is under 10 mph. It slows down fine then grabs at the last moment. I assume it has something to do with transition from regen to normal braking. Thanks Greg B

Hello, I am a new owner of a 2015 Fusion Energi. I have had it for 1 week. Average commute - 40 miles each way. I can plug in at work. I am getting about a 25 mile range on EV, and I am averaging 70 MPG combined. Wow! what a nice car. I am very impressed.

I have been having "issues" with my insurance agent when it comes to my Energi. They have asked numerous times for my VIN number and after giving it to them I got the following response back as to why they keep asking for the VIN: Your vehicle’s VIN does not register with State Farm’s national database. This typically occurs with new, unique or uncommon vehicles. Strange in that I can get the full description of the vehicle based on the VIN from the Ford site. Any ideas?VIN Results fleet_ford_com.htm

Hello folks! I just leased a 2014 Fusion Energi Titanium this past weekend and think I have become obsessed with the vehicle! It's truly an amazing piece of technology...Ford is nailing it. We were first looking at the straight Fusion Hybrid, but, as I started to look at the Energi, I realized that it might be both economically and ecologically profitable to step it up. I have a 15 mile one-way freeway commute in the Seattle area so hoping to use 90% electric. Today is day 2 so we'll see! I was also convinced to look at the Energi because of some pretty attractive leasing incentives and the tax credit for EV. And the Dark Side color wasn't so bad either! Looking forward to learning from the very enthusiastic group on this forum!
