  1. After reading the thread on this forum entitled "Battery capacity @ 30K miles horrible", I'm thinking I made a big mistake. Are there any high mileage, long-term Energis that don't have these types of battery problems? If this problem is to be expected, does anyone have any estimates of how much it might cost to replace the big battery? [Edit: Found part prices of $6767 and $7,784.94 with a My Price of $9,341.93 in this thread.] Yikes, not what I thought I was signing up for, after reading all glowing reviews on Edmunds. I live in a state with no right of rescission on vehicle purchases, so I'm thinking I'm stuck, though there may be two outs: - the dealer's 3-day exchange policy, where I'd have to buy some other vehicle on their lot, or - lose my non-refundable deposit ($2K), or see if they'd bargain to take less of my deposit. Any help is appreciated.
  2. I purchased 2014 Energi in May of 2014, I noticed a gradual reduction in MPG. Fortunately i always recorded my KWh and it has decreased from 5.85 KWh (average) to 4.25 KWh (average). This is substantial, I do not consider this normal wear and tear at 30,000 miles. Ford's warranty is vague, Any Suggestions?
  3. I recently purchased a 2016 ford fusion energi. I purchased this car because I routinely ( 3 days a week) travel 100 miles round trip for work. I've read some information but I need a basic kindergarten style explanation of the best way to drive for highway purposes and how to maintain the battery life. In addition to beginner basics, I have a question about parking with no charging option. We are traveling approximately 200 miles for vacation, once we arrive we will have to leave the car parked in a ferry lot for one week with no charging station. Is this ok? Before I park the car, should I assure the battery is at a certain level ? Thanks in advance !
  4. How acceptable is to have a new Ford Fusion Energi for only 3 months and the life of the battery is half drained? The car is advertised at 21 EV miles . I am now fully charging at 11-12 EV miles. Is this not acceptable? I am taking my car in for maintenance next Saturday. I will be asking about battery warranty, new battery cost and finding out how GREEN it really is to own an Energi vehicle if we are having to purchase an expensive battery every so many miles or months. I am also experiencing a drop on GAS mileage when running on EV. Anyone out there with the same issue?
  5. The following site is something that appears to plague the Leaf (and Volt) in hot climates like Phoenix, AZ or Conroe, TX (my town.) http://www.mynissanl...y_Capacity_Loss I know that Ford has improved the battery manufacturing, but I don't know if the chemistry for the Energi is LiFePO4. If so, does anyone have information about Ford's hot weather testing of the Energi or new Hybrid battery pack? I understand that the previous Ford battery chemistry was NiCad which is more tolerant to 100+ degree days. I'm sold on the idea of the Energi, just need some tech data on hot climates.
