They have replaced a short as well. Thanks everyone for the help. I will get in touch with Ashley!

Wow, just found this helpful thread! Here's a reader's digest version of my story. Bought in March 2013. Car in shop now getting it's 5th (yes 5th!) new battery! I also get the wrench icon almost every day now for around 6 months. It's pretty much guaranteed that if I don't drive my car within 3 days, it will be dead.

Thanks. I'll check that out. Is there any way to know if I have that without going in?

When you get them changed, please show and keep us updated on fuel mileage. I know that's a question a lot of us have. Have fun shopping!

Didn't try any of those options because at the time I didn't know about them. While those might work (and I'll try them next time), I'd still like to know if others have had the same experience. It doesn't seem right for mine to have that happen when the car is maybe just over 100 degrees, if others in Arizona and southern states aren't having the same problem.

I really like the DSP setting on the sound (I think it's called DSP...I'm not in my car right now). The sound is much fuller I think. However, every time I start my car it defaults back to Stereo. Not a big deal to change it each time, but if there was a way to make it stay that would be nice. Any thoughts?

Shuffle song when playing from a USB drive
yojroz replied to melsee's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
Mine shuffles throughout the entire 2500 songs on my USB drive, but I only have one folder with all of them in it, not separate directories. Only thing that bugs me is that for some reason about once or twice a week it starts over...and always starts with the same song when it does. I guess that's not a big deal to just skip that one song though. -
I live in LA where (compared to the rest of the country) it doesn't get all that hot. I also park at home and at work in covered parking. So this summer there have only been two times that I parked uncovered on a particularly hot day. Both times, when I came back to my car it wouldn't recognize my key (Titanium key fob). So both times I was stranded. Eventually it worked enough to get the car to unlock, but then still wouldn't recognize the key to start the car. So to be clear, the auto unlock when I grabbed the handle didn't work, the unlock button on the remote didn't work, and the lock, start, start on the key didn't work. Once I get in though, the battery worked enough to say on the dash that it didn't recognize a key, but not enough to start. Anyone else have that problem?

+1 here. When I washed I was surprised by the give in the lower side of the rear quarter panels. They just push in with the slightest pressure. I also have no faith in the plastic mechanics of the charger port cover. That entire assembly is light plastic and it gets used every day.

One very handy trick I've learned is to use the cruise control as much as possible. It's unbelievable to me how much more efficiently the car drives itself at a constant speed than I do. I don't have the Adaptive Cruise Control option but I've even learned to use the + and - in cruise control to speed up or down when possible. I get much closer to my electric predicted miles when doing this...especially at high speeds. I guess I tend to be on the gas more than I need to.

I average between 21-24 but was shocked today to see 30! Very exciting.

2013 Ford Fusion Energi: 21 Miles Of Electric Range From Plug-In Hybrid
yojroz replied to Tucker's topic in Fuel Mileage
By the learning your route, I assume you're talking about the EV+? Yesterday was the first time I saw EV+ pop up when I was in EV auto mode and running solely on EV. I believe EV+ is designed to learn your route and save some electric power til you get close to your destination then attempt to solely use it all then. What's interesting is that I noticed before EV+ came up that I was using less EV driving than usual, then as I got closer to home I ran EV longer than usual. So I assume it's storing some extra up to use as you get closer. However, I don't really know if this was any different than just running as much EV as possible the whole way rather than storing for a while, then using. I will say that I seemed to have less EV driving overall with the EV+ than usual. I might consider turning it off. I like how the EV Auto works, but I'm not sold on EV+ yet. -
Advantage Ford in Duarte. My only two rules were they had to be on a vehicle they had in stock, and they had to be on a car that the Energi's 17" wheels were an option. IE, it had to be either the 18" 5 spokes from the Hybrid or the 18" multi spokes from the Hybrid. They only had the 5 spokes in stock when I got mine so that was my only real option. I like the look but decided against it.

I've never had a car with intelligent keys, keyless entry, or push button start. And previous to owning this one, I have always thought it was a gimmick or certainly not something to pay extra for. But in the week I've had it now, I truly love the ease of it. I don't know how much I'd pay for it, but I'm definitely happy I have it. I believe the Sony stereo is the other difference right? I haven't listened to the SE's, but the Titanium's is much better than I expected. That also seems worth it.

I can't give you any long term data, but my Fusion has 140 miles on it and I have used exactly 1 gallon of gas. There's no chance I'm getting 21 miles on the charge though. As a matter of fact when I unplug and get in the highest it's even told me I'd get is 18, but I'm not getting that either. I'm probably averaging around 16 on the charge. BUT what's interesting to me is that the 47 mpg after that which is being so heavily disputed I seem to be going way over. My math and my car's instruments are saying I'm averaging around 54. I have a 65 mile round trip to work and I can't charge at work. In the one full day I've driven there and back I used around .5 gallon. I've been very impressed with the regen so far. Especially since my commute is on an LA freeway. The farther I go in the heavy traffic the more and more regen I'm getting. I think I'm averaging 3 regen miles per 10 driving miles. Not bad at all. If I keep all driving patterns the same that (mathematically) works out to 1960 miles driven on one tank of gas in LA with a 65 mile commute. I couldn't ask for more. But we'll see how it is once I have 3000 miles on it and I can give some more long term data...

Funny though that on the power distribution screen it has a picture of your car with the 19" wheels on it. At least the SYNC programmer knew it would look better with those wheels on it :)

Great tip Scooter! That worked. I didn't even realize all 4 of my windows needed to be "programmed". In my experience it took doing each one 3 times for it to work. Also I had to hold the button about one second after the window was down or up til you hear a "click" each time. Now they all work great.

2013 Ford Fusion Energi: 21 Miles Of Electric Range From Plug-In Hybrid
yojroz replied to Tucker's topic in Fuel Mileage
So far on my commute, in EV AUTO mode, until I run out of my electric charge, the only time it kicks in the gas engine is on one hill I have to go up where I'm working the pedal pretty hard. Otherwise, it might as well be in EV NOW mode the whole charge. -
When I picked up my car, the dealer stood by his agreement to change the wheels if I wanted to, but I decided not to. With no reasons or details why they aren't offered I didn't want to be the guinea pig in the group.

I guess now that we are all getting our cars, it's time to start discussing issues we're having. The only thing I can find so far that seemingly doesn't work is my driver window auto up. I can feel the two clicks when rolling down...the first rolls til I stop and the second auto downs it fine. When rolling up I also feel the two clicks but the second one does not auto roll up. Is this a setting I have to activate? Anyone else having this issue? Luckily, that's the only problem I am having so far.

I bought a 32GB flash drive and filled it with around 25GB of music. It is working great! The only issue I am having is the first time I plugged it in, it indexed everything and I could voice control artists, songs, genres, and albums. But after that first time I can't voice control artist (which is my preferred method) anymore. All other ways work still, just artist doesn't. If I say something like "Play artist The Beatles" it will pull up the choice list and each one will say The Beatles but will be tied to another group. Example 1. The Beatles Simon and Garfunkel 2. The Beatles Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc. If I pick any of those it plays the other band not the one I requested...weird. But so far from my experience 1 32GB flash drive works great otherwise.

Yeah, I'm using the Plug-in hybrid app. And I click Fusion on the website. I even downloaded the wrong app just to make sure. Thanks. -
MyFord Mobile App (specifically for iOS)
yojroz replied to Scooter80's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
I've been trying to register and my VIN and ESN give an error. I called it in and got a case number til it gets resolved...boooo. Guess I'm waiting a while. -
I'm supposed to pick up my Energi tomorrow or Thursday. My dealer reiterated that I can switch out the wheels with another Fusion they have if I want. I understand that 19" might drastically effect everything, but still don't understand why 18" would be a problem when you can get those with a Hybrid. I'll have to decide when I see which ones they have.

From everything I've read, it was a last minute decision to not put ambient lighting in the cupholders. Big deal? No. But should they have updated all of their marketing? Yes.
