  1. OP... have you consider a full electric? or do you want to stay with Ford? Tesla is currently leasing the basic M3 (no full self driving) for about $450 with 12K miles a year. Not sure how much you are spending for gas on you FFE, but the cost per mile on electric is way lower than on gas. I own a 2013 FFE, a 2016 MS and 2016 MX and I can tell you that the saving in gas and oil changes are significant. I have been considering trading the FFE for a M3 but the trade-in offer from Tesla has been way too low.
  2. I believe that the big battery charges the 12v battery when the car is plugged in, and that's why you get the smell. I had the same situation a few years back with the original 12v battery that came with the car. The one I replaced earlier this year did not have a smell, but the car would not turn on at all.
  3. The 12v battery was replaced in late May 2020.
  4. Good afternoon Forum, Last night the engine light goes on. I do a scan on the Zus Health Monitor and I got 3 codes: P0562 Charging System Voltage Low P0DBA P0DE1 Does anyone know what those mean? Thanks, Alex
  5. Yes, the battery was the problem for sure. Actually that battery I bought in June 2017 had a 3 year warranty. It failed again in May 2020, so I got a totally free replacement. First time I was ever glad that I used the dealer for a battery.
  6. Hello, My 2013 FFE is only getting about 10 miles to a full charge now. It used to get 21 when new. It seems that I'm below 50% of the original capacity. Does anyone know how the warranty on the battery works? What percentage it has to degrade for Ford to consider doing anything about it? Thanks, APM
  7. The only code showing is C46B86 but shows as HIST not CURR Regards, Alex
  8. Thanks again for the detail information... Will try that once the wife comes home with the car I will let you know if there are any codes. Regards, APM
  9. Thanks... great explanation. Don't know how to get the fault codes Thanks, APM
  10. Now I'm confused... those fuses don't seem to be specific for the fog lights. If either of those were blown nothing on the right or left side would work, Every thing else work on the left side except the fog light (low beam, high beam) Regards, APM
  11. Hello, My 2013 with 78K miles is going about 10 to 11 miles on a full charge. It used to go about 20 miles on a full charge when new. I do charge every day with a 220V charger (Bosch). Regards, APM
  12. I have changed the bulb twice and tried the bulbs on the other side and they worked fine. F62 would be under the sterring wheel, correct? Thanks, APM
  13. Hello Forum, Does anyone one where the fuse for the driver side fog light would be on a 2013 Fusion Energi? Thanks for you help... Regards, APM
  14. Thanks for the response... I decided to take it to the dealer because I could not find the battery anywhere. It turns out that the 390 battery is not longer manufactured. The parts department at the dealer siad that it had been replaced by the 590 battery, however that battery is a about an inch too big for the plate under the battery in the car. The mechanic tried to put the 590 in the car but of course he could not. They looked again in the system and found a 475 battery which was the correct fit. I think I paid more than I should have ($129 for the battery plus $50 for the install). In case anyone needs it, this is the new battery BXT99RT4A (470 CCA) Regards, Alex
  15. Is there a specific procedure for replacing the battery that would prevent me from changing it myself?
  16. I'm having the same issue with my 2013 Energi... A couple of days ago my wife started complaining about a rotten egg smell in the garage. I check and I didn't smell it at the time, but tonight I felt the smell inside the house. I checked the 12v battery and it was very hot but I didn't see any liquids around it. Is it a bad 12v battery? Should I replace it? My car has 53K miles so it is not under warranty. Thanks for your help on this one. Regards, Alex
  17. Hi scjabaldi, My suggestion is to track MGPe. I think it makes a lot more sense to track MPGe rather than MPG because if you do track MPG is almost like saying that charging the battery is free. Granted, it is a lot cheaper than gas, at least in my area, but definetely not free. To me what is most important is the cost per mile to drive the car. With my not so exact numbers (electricity cost and gas cost) I determined that my cost per mile is around 4 cents. I think it is at least double if not more to drive purely on gas. Regards, APM
  18. Things are different at different dealers. When I shopping for my Energi in February of 2013, the dealer where I ended up buying the car did not want to sell the cars on the lot at X-Price, I had to order one in order to be able to use the X-Price. I guess it was because of allocation at that time, and theythought they could sell the lot cars at a premium... evidently they were compeltely wrong! Regards, APM
  19. Hi Alex, You can configure and price the car with X-Plan pricing at www.fordpartner.com. Use code MC045. The code is from the Mustang Club of America. Don't try to get a PIN without becoming a member of the MCA because the dealer will ask for your MCA card. If you decide that the X-Plan is good then all you have to do is joing MCA for $50 a year and generate your PIN. With the MCA membership you can get 2 X-Plans pin each year. Another good thing about the X-Plan pricing is that it limits the dealers fees to $100. Some dealers charge as much as $700. I used X-Plan for a 2013 Explorer and for the 2013 Fusion Energi. Hope this helps... Regards, APM

    One year anniversary

. Here is the informaton about my last tank of gas. The last time I purchased gas was on March 7. I filled up yesterday after 2834.9 miles and 12.20 Gallons according to the trip computer. The EV miles only show 442 because it only goes as high as 999. The total EV miles were actually 2442. My total cost for miles was: 630kWh * 1.2 * 0.12 = 90.72 of electricity plus $43.88 of gas = $134.60 total or $0.04780 per mile. One thing that impressed me is how close the amount of gas I was able to refill was to the amount shown on the trip computer: 12.261 vs. 12.20 Regards, APM

  23. Hello, Another big problem with MyFordMobile is that is does not track short trips. The threshold used to be 2 miles but I think it was lowered to 1.5 based on user comments. However, I think that 1.5 miles is still too long. I take several trips a day of less than 1.5 miles. Besides providing wrong information about miles driven, etc. it messes up the rankings at MyFordMobile. I have way more EV miles than actually reported, because I take 3 or 4 short trips a day of less than 1.5 miles. Over time these miles do accumulate. Regards, APM
  24. Hi, Shortly after I bought my car I had the same issue. I lost one of the i's. I believe they replaced the entire word under warranty. It hasn't happened again since. Regards. APM
