How can i know if the tax credit is still available? I sort of remember that the availability of the $4007 tax credit was tied to national sales number. i dont remember the figure. How can i find the number and find out if the sales have exceeded that number yet? any help is appreciated. i love this forum . . . great information! -Mickey

$4500 Retail Bonus Customer Cash
wmmallette replied to wmmallette's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
@DaveB722, Which stock number did you get at Sheehy? I hope you did not buy the one I have been negotiating about at Sheehy, Gaithersburg. I have been talking with them and they have treated me very well. If things work out, I will be flying in there. It is about a 15 hour drive for me, so wouldn't want to drive both ways. @jeff_h thanks for the link and that is extremely nice of you to offer to help get someone to a dealership from the airport in your area. I wish i found a deal in the DC area! Baltimore is as close as I got. its good to see people helping people in any area of life!! -Mickey -
Has anyone here looked at the decision between the FFE and the regular Fusion Hybrid? Here is my situation. I have gotten 3 different dealers competing for my business, so i am in good position. A -I can get a new 2014 FFE SE model with a backup camera for around $29,000 (with the $4007 tax rebate takes rhe cost down to $25000). B -I can get a 2013 program FFE ("factory test car") driven only by a Ford employee with 8500 miles for $26,800, which has not yet been registered. (Probably no rebate on this one either, to be determined by the IRS, but for this discussion lets assume no rebate.) C -I can get a new 2014 regular Fusion Hybrid SE model with leather and camera for around $26,500 (no rebate). Trunk space is only a minor issue. I do have kids, but this is mostly a work car for me. I live 35 miles from the office and can plug up the car on my employer's bill at no cost to me for the return drive. I live in Northern Mississippi, so there are no real long periods of cold weather here. Mostly it is hot or moderate for 10 months out of the year. When I read reviews or watch videos, most say the FFE is not the best choice over the FFH becuase of the cost difference between the two. As I see it, I am at a point where I can get a FFE for equal to or less than a FFH based on the tax rebate or reduced purchase price. Average cost of gas here is about $3.50 and has been for a while. What is your pick for what you would do in my situation? Anyone's input based on being a FFE owner is much appreciated. -Mickey

I have seen some websites that list a $4500 "Retail Bonus Customer Cash" rebate that expires om July 7, 2014. As best I can tell this has some state restrictions. Does anyone know where I can get a list of applicable states? Also, does the state info depend on the dealer's location or the home address of the customer? Thanks! -Mickey

Is the cruise control on the 2014 FFE the "eco-cruise control" as in the FFH? I know the FFE has the optional adaptive cruise feature, but this is not what I am asking about. The eco cruise is supposed to more slowly accelerate to the set speed when going up hills or when resuming speed in order to prevent that stomping the accellerator effect with traditional cruise controls. Thanks! Mickey

My question was incomplete on my fault. If the manufacturer sales are, in fact, tied to the eligibility of the credit, is the amount of the credit always $4007 if eligible or does that amount get phased down to a lower amount based on the current number of sales at the time i buy mine or which quarter of the year in which i but mine? I appreciate the informal advice here. Obviously, I will contact a tax professional before my purchase.

here is a picture of the vehicle history report portion that deals with that . . . anyone have opinions as to whether this may still qualify for the tax credit?

Do you believe this (the $4007) to be applicable for the tax year 2014, which i would file next april?

I have tried to look up info on the tax credit based on what I read here and I am more confused than ever. Is the credit for a new 2013 or 2014 set at $4007 exactly, or is the amount based on a "phase out" of the credit linked to manufacturer sales? Can anyone direct me to the IRS.gov info on where to read about the tax credit?

The VIN check shows that it is a Ford Company program car. It has never been titled to anyone. I have asked 3 different car dealers who i know personally and who have no financial interest in the sale, and they all independently say that it is a car that was most likely driven by a Ford Company exec or rep for a few months, then sold to the dealer. It has no fleet designatioin on either VIN check. I feel good about that part.

I am looking at a 2013 right now with about 8500 miles on it. It was a Ford exec test car and dealership bought it. Dealer said he will transport for free and asking $27K. Any thoughts on the reasonableness of this price. It has the navigation, leather seats, adaptive cruise control, rear view camera and daytime running lights as added options on the sticker. No sunroof, which i like better for the head room and the possibility of issues later. I think it is a good price, but I wasn't looking for this car and only found it while lokking for the regular hybrid Fusion so my research is limited right now.
