  1. I'm surprised the plugs were replaced under warranty at 93k miles and it's a 2013 model. Regardless, did you ever figure out the cause? I'm getting P0301 on my 2014 Energi. I replaced the plugs, test drove it, and it sill had the same issue. I then tested the ignition coils using the multi-meter Ohm method. I wasn't able to find a definite answer on what they should read, but all the coils read approximately the same amount. I went ahead and replaced the cylinder 1 ignition coil anyway. I took an Ohm reading from the new coil and it was the same approximate amount I was reading on all the others. I test drove, and it hasn't done it yet, but since all the coils tested the same, I suspect that it will misfire again at some point in the near future.
  2. So I've ran in to this problem a few times now after getting the 3G modem upgrade this past Jan. In June or July it stopped connecting. I was too busy with work to deal with it so I finally got around to messing with it over the Thanksgiving break. I first removed my car from MyFordMobile and then re-added it. I waited 24 hours then 48 hours and never got the confirmation screen in the car. I didn't know how to do a test on it or see any information on the modem through the car's screens so I decided to reboot the car's computers. I removed the cable from the 12v battery for several seconds and reconnected it. Once I did that, the confirmation popped up on the screen. I was all good... for a couple of days. Then it happened again, it stopped connecting. This time I didn't make any modifications in MyFordMobile, instead I just rebooted the car's computers again. Once I did that, I was able to see the car's status from my mobile and app and on the website. If it keeps happening I will take the car in and see if there's an issue with the modem or some other component.
  3. Did you guys ever find out what caused this? I'm getting noticeable pull to right on accel and slight pull to left on braking as well.
  4. How do you determine how many kwh you are getting out of a full charge?
  5. That should just be the 12v battery that needs replacing. After 71k miles, it's probably time.
  6. Does anyone have the Helm Inc CD ROM? Could someone post some screenshots of some Assembly/Disassembly procedures so I can compare to the AllDataDIY manuals? Thanks
  7. It's true, but honestly it's not that hard. I put down some moving blankets to lay the bumper cover on once I removed it.
  8. That's a great price for your HVB. Funny when I search for parts on FordParts.com with my VIN and dealer selected, all the MSRP/List prices for parts are much less than the "Your Price" column. :( I have a 2014 but it should be the same part. Ford's MSRP for the battery is $7,784.94. The My Price is $9,341.93.
  9. My original OEM charger got fried by a lightening strike that was close to the house. I was lucky it didn't flow in to the car and do something to the car's inverter or something. Anyway, I ended up getting a replacement 120v 12Amp from ClipperCreek as it was much less costly than getting it from Ford. ($390 ClipperCreek vs. $600 Ford) So far it's doing great. I have added a surge suppressor between the wall outlet and the charger, but it keeps melting the surge suppressor even though it's rated at 15 Amps continuous. I guess I need to try a different brand surge suppressor or maybe try to find a 20 Amp suppressor.
  10. I would suspect that if it's only a light that's out on the charge port, but the charge function works correct then you would need the PremiumCare Exterior/Interior Lighting Coverage option on the ESP for it to be covered.
  11. I have a Blackvue 650 2 Channel. It's more than what you budget allows, but I got it because it has front and rear facing cameras. I've had it about 8 months now and works great so far.
  12. I just downloaded and installed the 3.8 update. I had no problems installing it. It does take about 30 minutes so give yourself enough time to do it. After the update, I feel like they reduced the color depth of the on-screen buttons. Maybe this was done to improve performance? Anyone else noticed this?
  13. The dealership is currently trying to get permission from Ford Corporate to allow them to going through all the modules and test them. It has been about a week since I had the car in to be looked at so I'm not sure if there's been any progress or not. I took my car back until they have gotten permission to do any further work.
  14. Meagan, I have an appointment this week with the dealer. If I don't come to a satisfactory resolution I will let you know. Thanks for your assistance.
  15. I don't have any go times for Sundays. My go times are Mon-Fri at 07:00. I almost always plug in as soon as I get home. You have an interesting hypothesis of why it may drain. I did recently have an issue where I had done a reset on the sync system and had to re-connect the car to the MyFordMobile site. The dead battery occurred while the car was not connected to the site so maybe the car kept trying to phone home or something...
  16. I plug my car in every evening. I had driven it Saturday. When I got home I plugged it in. I didn't drive it anywhere Sunday. Monday morning it was dead.
  17. Well I think it finally got me. This morning the car wouldn't unlock so I got in with the key. It was totally dead and wouldn't start. I called roadside assistance and they gave me a jump. I will be taking it in this week to let them know what happened.
  18. I stopped by the dealer on Saturday. They checked the battery and told me it was ok using some sort of machine. I was told to check any electronics systems I would need to come back Tues thru Thurs as their electronic tech is only there on those days.
  19. Oh wow! Thanks for that info, Murphy. I will def run by the dealer.
  20. My battery reads 11.5v when the car is off and 14.6v when the car is on so it appears that the battery charger is working. I may stop by the dealer just to have them check everything over anyway.
  21. Before I had my Fusion I had an 2012 Infiniti M35 Hybrid. It had the smart cruise, collision avoidance, and lane departure warning and assist. They were very impressive features and worked very well, but I don't think I'd climb out of the drivers seat and let it drive itself like that. They are advanced, but not designed to do everything autonomously... Yet.
  22. My Energi started experiencing this "feature" a couple of days ago. I also have a Sony radio so it doesn't seem to be the SSM mentioned above. I found this over on the BlueOvalForums. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/53223-reverse-sensing-and-open-door-sound-change/ They say that it may be related to a low voltage on the battery. I will try to check my battery voltage tomorrow and see if that's it.
  23. This is the second Ford I've owned. My first one was a 2002 Explorer Sport Trac 4x4. I loved that truck and kept it for 12 years. I miss it but I don't miss the gas mileage. I love the gas mileage on my Energi. :-) My only complaint is the Microsoft infotainment system. Like others have said its a little sluggish and has some bugs in it functionality. Ford loaded the updates for me and most of them have been taken care of. Ford has really come a long way in that last few years with improving styling, features, technology, etc. I want to see a new Ranger... Hint hint.
  24. I installed a NuShield Triple A and am pretty happy with the anit-fingerprint protection it provides. It's not perfect, but really cuts down on them. The installation was pretty easy. You just want to make sure you clean the display really good first and try to keep dust off while you're applying it. If you have a piece of clear packing tape ready, you can use it to remove specks of dust from either the display or the protector while you're applying the protector. I had to do that to get one speck out and it worked great.
