About bibolton

  1. California has an area on Interstate 5 from LA north to the valley known as the "Grapevine". The descent drops about 2300 feet in 6 to 7 miles. Just using hill assist, it kept my Fusion Energi at 60mph and put 5 miles back into the battery. I did try a shift to low but it slowed me too much so I shifted back to drive within 15 seconds. At no time did the engine engage and my milage reading came up to 54.1 mpg. Gotta love this car!!!! Even if I never reach the goal of 100MPGe I'll take 50 any day.
  2. So sorry... I should have caught that. English is hard, and I was born here!!!
  3. My "value charge" is now working. User lokicat gave me the idea to set a go time even though it says it has nothing to do with charging. Well, after setting one this morning, the value charge began to work. I have deleted the go time entry and everything is still fine. I think there must be a programing bug in Sync.
  4. Yes, your brake lights do come on, but they won't if you use hill assist. You will find that the car will stay around the same speed it was going when you pressed "hill assist", even on a good down slope, and you get quite a bit of charge to the battery.
  5. I would think that it would hurt the overall gas mileage but sure would be interested in your results. I have been able to put 2 miles back in my battery by using "hill assist" on a good down grade. It is much better for charging than braking on down hill slopes.
  6. Yes the Fusion Energi will charge the HV battery while driving but usually not enough to put, or show miles back on your battery display. I have been able to charge mine to 2 miles using the "hill assist" button on the gear shift and going down a fairly good down grade. Even though your brakes will regenerate power while going down hill, it is nothing compaired with "hill assist"
  7. I drive mostly in town so for five days of the week, I use no gas at all. On my weekend trips to our coast house (159 miles one way through hills) and two 45 mile trips to the dealer for a repair, I got about 48.9 mpg. If I combine all it comes out to 74.4 mpge. I am shooting for that 100.mpge and will let the group know if I ever hit it. I have a full battery today and will drive to the coast using EV Later mode because I have much local driving to do once I get there.
  8. Yes, I am using my 120v charger. The time for a full charge for me has never taken a full 7 hrs except for the first charge when my battery was new. I normally have 3 or 4 miles left when I plug in at the end of my day. I have never set a "Go Time" because it says it does not have anything to do with the charge profile, but maybe I will try it. I have never seen a "waiting to charge" notice.
  9. Still have a problem with "value charge" not working. I know...Battery must be > 50 degrees F and there must be more than 10% life left in the battery for value charge to work, but it doesn't. Defualt profile is set correctly and I have changed it a few times to see if that made a difference but, no. Anyone else have this trouble or am I missing something?
  10. Took delivery of my Fusion Energi on March 16th and on March 28th, the charger stopped working. I guess if they are going to fail, as with most electronic items, it will happen within a month or two. Got a replacement the next day and all is well. I too looked into buying a second 120v charger but when I saw the price of $495.00 to $1980.00 (Ford Parts web site) I went 220V. Still have a problem with "value charge" not working, but will get that fixed at first service. I know...Battery must be > 50 degrees F and more than 10% life left in the battery for value charge to work, but it doesn't. Defualt profile is set correctly and I have changed it a few times to see if that made a difference but, no Update: Value Charge is now working. See post under "Battery and Charging" for solution..
