Purchased car last March. Have had the car into the dealer 6 times for these problems,. They say that the car is throwing a fault code (which is directly related to these systems) but because they cannot get the problem to repeat when it is in their posession, they cannot do anything about it. I have taken videos, but they won't accept that. I told them to keep the car for a week and have the service mgr drive it to and from work every day. They said they would, but only had him drive it one day and then returned it to me because he could find nothing wrong. Ford Motor Company assigned a person to my "case" and then my dealership was sold a month later and she never contacted me again and doesn't respond to my voicemails. I have a failure in one of these two systems about every 3-4 days (also having problems with collision avoidance system). I keep a log in my phone and try to note each failure when it happens but know that I'm not catching everything. My kids, my friends, my husband all have seen these problems. PROBLEM: Touch the sensor inside inside the door handle and the door will not unlock (with keys right next to the door) Touch the sensor lines on top of the door handle and door will not lock. 67 failures noted of these two items. I have tried it with both key FOBs because I thought that the batteries were dead, but same thing with both. I would like to know if anyone else is having any problems with these? Maybe you are, but just haven't really paid attention to it or you just don't realize how often it is happening?

Problems that I'm having that Ford won't fix

I don't expect the system to be 100% perfect but when it cannot alert me to one of the exact situations in which I think it was probably designed for which is a 4 year old child who took off running across a parking lot and bolted behind my car as I'm backing up (his father screaming was what alerted me, not the backup sensor), even as I watched him run behind my car in the camera screen, the sensor still did not go off. Another time I had someone who was in a hurry, cut me off while I was backing up; just took off around the back of my car assuming that I would stop for him. No backup sensor warning of him coming or the entire time that his car was going around behind mine. Another time I had a pull out of a parking lot and cut straight across my path. I had to slam on my brakes to keep from hitting him, so I was not moving at all and he was moving parallel across the front of my car. The sensor finally went off when his rear bumper was clearing the front of my car. My last 3 cars have been Ford vehicles which have the backup sensors, so, as for that rear sensor, I'm well aware of what they can generally see and not see. Unless they have changed the technology to one that is far more unreliable, there is something wrong with this car. I have taken the car to two different dealers. One felt that they just needed to teach me how to use the car, then after a half hour of him explaining to me everything that I already knew, I showed him my error log and told him of the incidents that I had had and he agreed that the sensor should have gone off but it all boils down to "we can't get it to repeat the problem, so we can't do anything about it" I have also noticed that once I have a failure in one system, that I will many times have a 2nd one in another system within the same driving session. As soon as the car is turned off and back on, it clears things out. -

My kids, my friends, my husband all have seen these problems. The Rear backup and rear side sensors do not beep when car is in reverse and there is a moving object directly behind or off to the side of the car (another car sitting a few feet behind mine or a child that ran right behind my car). Front sensor does not go off when a car pulls out directly in front of me from a driveway. Also during a repeated event (ie. a wall at the end of a freeway exit that I take all the time) It sees the wall as an obstical about 80% of the time. 36 failures have been noted. The collision avoidance system is harder to note failures in because you have to know when it "should" be going off to know that it failed to do so. I would like to know if anyone else is having any problems with these? Maybe you are, but just haven't really paid attention to it or you just don't realize how often it is happening?

************************** AFTER 8 WEEKS OF TRYING, MY IS NOW FIXED ********************* My problem was no 2nd confirmation message. I had done several things suggested by Ford but nothing individually worked, so I decided to try everything in one long sequence and I JUST got it working yesterday! Here is what I did: Pulled Fuse #10 in the Passenger fuse panel under the dash and reseated it Turn the car on for 2 minutes and then off for 2 minutes and then back off Deleted the car from the MFM app Cleared all of the app settings on the phone Deleted the app from the phone Reload the app but don't add the car back in yet Performed a master reset on the system in the car (go in through the settings menu) Re-paired my phone with the car (make sure to accept the access requests for both the phone & the texting) Re loaded the MFM app onto my phone. Re-add the car and then wait. It took mine 26 hours. Pain in the ass, especially because I had to go in and reprogram all of my settings, radio presets, pre-fab text replies, etc. I am not sure which part of this made it work, or if it was the whole thing.

I had this exact problem with my Fusion Energi. Ford has been working on the problem for 8 weeks now for me. I JUST got it working yesterday! I have been fighting this problem for 8 weeks now. My car only has 1400 miles on it and I have been keeping a log of every problem, the date it happens and every contact with Ford, who I spoke with and what the resolution was. One thing I learned is that if you hit the gas filler door release button on your center console that this can set off the SES (service engine soon) light. How stupid is that? Put the button right where a passenger can hit it. My car shows up simply as "2014 Fusion Titanium" on the website and I have tried every which way to sync with MyFordMobile. I originally had issues with my cell phone syncing all the way (wouldn't access texting). They had me do the TCU Fuse pull (#10) and that fixed the texting issue. I have sent 3 emails, spoken with 3 Ford Reps on the phone and have taken it to the dealer once. No resolution. I threatened them last week with legal action if they could not fix all of these systems that they "sold" to me on their website and by their dealer sales people. They opened a case to speak with the Customer Satisfaction team, which apparently is going to call me to discuss things like compensation and their "buy back" program?? Over all I really like the car, but I want to feel safe in the car and I don't know if any of the really important systems are controlled by the same computer/software that is screwing up. I have all kinds of other issues with systems which just don't work sometimes. Steering wheel heater comes on by itself in the upper left quadrant Automatic Door locks don't open without the keyfab or keypad entry or won't lock without using the same (of course, they fail when I my arms are loaded or when I'm standing in the rain) Collision Avoidance System (Car pulled right out in front of me and no warning, but yet when I am taking the off ramp on the freeway, it warns me of the stationary bush that is in front of me!) Backup sensors (a car 4 feet behind that was sitting transverse to my vehicle) Side backup sensors (Pulling out of my driveway and the neighbor driving by behind me)
