2015 Fusion Energi. There is no fixing sitting that close to something that gives off more than 200 mG when the engine is just on. It's not my responsibility to fix a design flaw in Ford motor cars that's causing physical damage to me. I'm not driving this death trap of a car. After not driving the car for 2 months and driving it for one day the pain returned. Blasting radiation straight at me for years.

Hello, I would like to issue a stern warning to all those who drive a Ford Fusion or C-Max that is a Hybrid or Plug-In Hybrid (Energi) variant. For the past 2 years I have been experiencing serious headaches with no real reason in mind, other than my longer than normal day to day use of my Fusion Energi. These headaches were always on the left side of my head, so I found it odd that they're always in the same place. After many months of guessing I noticed the high voltage cables in the Fusion are much closer to the occupant cabin than any other hybrid car, including Camry, Prius, Hyundi Sonata, etc. Upon further inspection everything seemed fine, those cables have some level of shielding and are insulated to prevent damage to them. Or so I thought... After removing the plastic cover on the part that sits closest to me you couldn't believe my face when I saw that the shielding around the part that faces directly towards me had been wiggled open and is exactly on the same spot as the left side of my head where the pain is. After reading the measurements of this on a gauss meter, it goes to 20 mg, 80 mg, 100, mg, 180, 200... then Over Load. This is with the car standing still at ~ 5-10 KW I can't even imagine the radiation exposure when it's in motion ? Ford should be sued into oblivion with a class action suit.

That's because we should have listened to our mom's, dads, brothers, sisters, cousins and grandparents when they TOLD YOU NOT TO BUY AN AMERICAN CAR - FORD THEY WILL FALL APART, PERIOD!

Best charging cable replacement?
expresspotato replied to wythefisher's topic in Batteries & Charging
I bought a cheap one from China. Worked better than my "American Ford" piece of sh** cable (and car) because that lasted like 3 years and died with a red triangle. -
Overall Expected Long Term Battery Life
expresspotato replied to Spartyof83's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
That's insane, something has clearly gone wrong and the battery is toast. Get an OBD bluetooth, usb or wifi device and download something called Forscan light for Android. You can then add the PID's for the BECM (i think) and see the kWh to empty after a full charge. 150,000 KM's on mine (93,000 miles) and I still get 4.7 KWh of used battery on the trip display + the 1 KWh for the hybrid portion... 0.5 KWh is completely reserved, so things are still looking good. Nearly all of the time I slow charge at home on 120v, 15A max, perhaps that helps. -
No lights, no charge, no start, nothing...

So battery checks out completely fine, also it was manufactured on 08 2018 so it's exactly one year old. Something in this car is being a vampire and completely draining it... -

2017 Fusion Energi Dead Battery Issues
expresspotato replied to prott69's topic in 2017-2018 Fusion Energi
I hear you Bob! It's insane to keep coming home to a dead car with no lights and you can't even get inside. How embarrassing to drive a Ford. -

Completely dead again this morning after just 12 hours on it own. Wow. -

So I'm starting to have this issue as well. There is a vampire draw that kills the battery over about 2-3 days... Problem is the battery itself is fine, takes about 100 Wh to charge it which is spot on. The car doesn't disconnect whatever's on there and the battery drops to 5v, probably permanently damaging it. If anyone is reading this, never Ford again! So many problems. Ring light burned out, 1 month outside of warranty. Rear strut mount replaced, 2 months out of warranty. Recall #1. Recall #2. One dealer wants hundreds of dollars to 'diagnose' and the other said they'd do SSM 47428 for a $115 fee. I thought SSM's were covered outside of warranty? -
What I plan on doing next winter is the following: - Wiring up a power cutoff circuit with settable low / high voltage - Will be connected to a 100A relay, which will be connected directly to the 12v battery then - To a 1KW inverter - Which I plug in 2x 250W 120v AC Space heaters that will sit under the front seats

Unrelated to OP's post but the HVAC in the car does suck. Set it to 22c, the vents blow out 35c if you set them to low. Guess its trying to meet the 'cabin temperature' but that's so much hotter than what I've requested. Also the air doesn't stay the same temperature. Doesn't on my 2015 Energi and didn't on my 2013 Hybrid. I get that the engine pops on and off for heat when in hybrid mode but at least make the air temperature uniform as best as you can... Its no where close.

The battery warms up during charging and is most likely warm if you've been driving it before plugging in so its a bit of a mute point.
-
I never really did get the logic behind EV+ if the destination does not have a charger. My 2013 Hybrid had this and I really don't get how letting the driver use more of the battery because its going to 'rest' for a while. Wouldn't that make it worse?

Looking at the service manual I think its only one antenna connector that runs on the passenger side of the console all the way up the pillar and into the roof where its punched out to go onto the outside antenna.

Has Ford killed the C-Max Energi for 2018?
expresspotato replied to jsamp's topic in Competing Products
It never really sold well and if ford is wondering why. Shit that is one ugly front! Why they put the sleek open mouth and then the old escape style front with the logo is beyond me :spend: -
Anyone else lose a quadrant on their charge ring?
expresspotato replied to Dune's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Yeah should have bought ESP. Dealer wants $125 to install and its a $212 part. All in CAD of course - useless currency that it is - -
Ford's recalls unprofessional, reduce appearance and resale value
expresspotato replied to openair's topic in Appearance
Yeah mine came out of the shop like that too. I just think its the way ford designs the cars the parts don't fit right after you've taken them out once or twice. -

Service Manager said this isn't covered... So early. So broken. -

Wondering if this is covered though. Will send an email to my SM soon and find out. -
Won't be a ford all tell you what... Too many problems between this 2015 and the 2013 I had before it.

So I just lost the 2nd quadrant on a 2015 MY... Guess they made a crappy part... Jeeze Ford really knows how to make em cheap. Between this and my totaled 2013 it was what 15 visits to dealers? Ashley doesn't seem to be active on these forums anymore for over a year, anyone have any luck under warranty outside B2B? -
Hi all, Been loving my 2015 Fusion Energi until today. My boyfriend was driving the car today and it threw the dreaded Stop Safely Now message. This has happened once to me before when I ran out of gas. This time there is P0726:62-28 present in the SOBDMC along with P1A0C:00:28. According to For Scan Lite, the first is 'Engine Speed Input Circuit Range / Performance' and the second is 'Hybrid Powertrain Control Module - Engine Disabled'. Does anyone know where this sensor is, or if this repair would be covered by the powertrain / hybrid warranty? Got about 66,000 KM on it so BTB is gone.

Hi all, After the the modem replacement to work on 3G networks all my value charge locations appear blank. Problem is I want to setup value charging at my new house. There doesn't seem to be a way to manually enter an address. See attached.
