  1. I have not looked for another way to force a report but it would probably have to be something that turns one of the green categories to red.
  2. I ran into that problem in 2009 on my Fusion Hybrid. Another tidbit. The car will not let you run another VHR unless something has changed or 28 days have elapsed. I take advantage of the parking brake situation if I need to run another report before the car will let me by putting the parking brake into the opposite state from the last report. I just joined a program with State Farm where they will get my odometer reading from a report they get direct from Ford based on a VHR and base my insurance premium on how many miles I have driven since the last premium payment. The clerks at State Farm don't yet understand that I can't run a VHR anytime I want to so I use the parking brake anomaly to keep them happy.
  3. The Fusion Hybrid and the Fusion Energi are combined in the same manual. Look at the cover page on the manual that came with the car.
  4. You didn't release the parking brake before you ran the report. It's reporting that the red brake light on your dash is lit. Release the parking brake and run the report again.
  5. There was one recall on my 2010 Fusion Hybrid which I purchased in April of 2009. In May or June of 2009 there was a recall to reprogram the relation between regen braking and friction braking.
  6. The charger in the car draws a maximum of 16 amps regardless of what type of external charger is installed. I use the Leviton 16 amp charger since I have no other use for it that would require more current. I don't see ever getting an all electric car unless the range can be raised to 500 miles and there are high speed charging stations with the same density as gasoline stations.
  7. You can turn the charge ring off if you don't like it.
  8. The problem with the port is that it is not obvious how to close it. I had to stop my salesman from trying to rotate it to close it. Most people can figure out that pushing the indentation will open the door. Pushing the same indentation to close it is apparently not as obvious.
  9. The EV button has three selections. Auto, EV now, and EV later. It moves to the next selection each time the button is pressed. The button next to the EV button unlocks the gasoline refueling door. If you have Park Assist the third button enables Park Assist.
  10. And unlike the Hybrid you can't put a mini-spare in the trunk because the Energi has a plastic plenum chamber for cooling the battery that resides in the center of the tire well.
  11. I went round and round with my State Farm agent after she entered it as a Hybrid. She finally entered it as a "2013 Ford Fusion 4DR". I'm guessing my rate is now too low but I have an ID card with the correct VIN on it so I'll just wait until they get their act together.
  12. My power company (PECO) gave me $50 for telling them I bought a PHEV and filling out a survey about how I will charge it. The state of Pennsylvania gave me $1000 for telling them I bought a PHEV that has a less than 10 kwh battery. :)
  13. TSB 13-5-18 has been issued to install stronger trunk torison bars on cars built before 5/2/13 that have a rear deck spoiler. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/942-tsb-for-sagging-trunk-when-spoiler-is-present/?p=4533
  14. You may find that surround sound doesn't stay selected.
  15. That depends on how the car is driven. None of my trips during the week exceed 11 miles. My only use of the engine will be on infrequent (maybe 5 times a year) trips out of town and when I force it on to make sure that it still works. I will use about two tanks of gas in a year.
  16. Here are a bunch of thoughts. Are you running your air conditioner? Cabin air is used to cool the battery. Do you have anything laying on the shelf behind the rear seats that could block the vents? I think I read of a case on this forum where the vents were blocked when the car arrived from the factory. Did you remove the insert in the trunk that holds the tire mobility kit and the battery charger? It appears (I'm guessing) to form part of the battery cooling system.
  17. "fried in an unusual place" implies that there is a usual place for the motherboard to be fried. Should I be worried that mine will die? So far it has passed around 125 KWH of electricity to the car.
  18. I don't think EV later works very well. On several occassions I have left the house with a full battery in EV later mode and had the battery range slowly decrease as I drove. It may be that the battery range is being recalculated based on operation in hybrid mode.
  19. Over a month? I was driving my car 14 days after it was built and I am north of Philadelphia, PA.
  20. Rolling down all of the windows at the same time puts a significant load on the 12 volt battery. It would be interesating to open the trunk and connect a voltmeter to the 12 volt battery and observe how low the voltage goes while the windows are in motion. If it goes low enough it may cause the car to go into battery conservation mode.
  21. No value charging for me. My power company has a one price fits all rate that is currently hovering around 16 cents per KWH. And that is with the power generation charge from a different company than the local electric utility or it would be even higher. The only exception is if the house is heated by electricity they have a residential heating rate that is lower.
  22. It's a common programming mistake by new programmers. They are told to display a data field and don't bother to ask where the most significant digit is stored. Another example of the amateurish programming is the letter keypad in the wireless client setup that is disabled. I just hope the same person didn't do the powertrain controls.
