I have a very low opinion of the MFT programmers. I doubt they know anything about structured programming and code reviews. Reminds me of the problems we had a very long time ago programming in assembly language with only 16K bytes of memory to work with. I complained about the WiFi client password being limited to 10 characters and was told that was done to enhance security. Anyone that knows anything about wireless security knows that is total nonsense.

Grab the door handle the same way you would the driver's door handle.

Dear MyFord Mobile User, On behalf of Ford Motor Company, we want to keep you in the loop on the previously communicated maintenance for MyFord Mobile. As we strive to merge the Focus Electric and Plug-in Hybrid versions of the MyFord Mobile App into one streamlined version for a better ongoing consumer experience, we plan to make another update to MyFord Mobile on October 29, 2013 9:00 AM EST. How will this impact you? ·The MyFord Mobile website and mobile app will not be functional for approximately 8 hours during the maintenance period. During this period you will see the message “Service or Network Error”. ·No action will be required on your part – if you previously downloaded the new MyFord Mobile app, it will function as intended after this maintenance period is complete. The new MyFord Mobile is up and running for C-MAX Energi and Fusion Energi customers. As you may recall, we sent you an email on October 13 saying that we were unable to execute the planned changes and you should use the older version of the app. That statement was incorrect; C-MAX Energi and Fusion Energi customers are able to use the new MyFord Mobile App that became available on Sunday morning, October 13. We apologize for any inconvenience. Should you have any issues, please call the Customer Relationship Center at 1-800-392-3673. After the language prompt please select option 3 and then option 4 to be connected with the team that interacts with consumers on Ford’s In-Vehicle Technology. The hours of operation are 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM M-F and 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM Saturday (ET). Regards, Beth Profitt MyFord Mobile Manager, Connected Services Ford Motor Company Garett Carr Electric Vehicle Marketing Manager Ford Motor Company

My 240 volt charging time hovers around 2 hours for a completely discharged HVB.

It gets changed back to Stereo seemingly at random. At least I haven't found a pattern.

I use it to set my GO time. It shows the car's location on a map. Great if you have young drivers. It shows the current odometer reading. It shows the details of each trip segment. Are you certain that you entered the VIN correctly? I haven't seen any '14 VINs but with the '13 VIN the Energi model fields are P0S. That is the letter P, the number zero, and the letter S. A few people entered it as the letter P, the letter O, and the letter S which doesn't work.

My 2.5 mile trips are consistently recorded. There is a cutoff mileage value below which the trip is not recorded but I don't remember what it is.

The sentence is not to clear. I think he means he hopes the evgo model will run evgo out of business.

Two possibilities. Is the AT&T cell network available with a strong signal where the car is parked? If that isn't the problem, then the data radio may need to be reset. There are two ways to do that. Lay on your back in the driver's foot well with your head in the vicinity of the accelerator pedal. With a flashlight you will be able to see the fuse panel. Pull fuse #10/11 (it's a dual fuse) for 5 minutes. There is a fuse extractor in the upper left corner of the fuse block. It is white plastic. Pay attention to how it is stored so it can be returned to its clips when done. Be careful when removing from its resting place since if you drop it there is a chance it can fall behind the carpet which means some major disassembly to retrieve it. Guess how I know that? Maybe stuff some cloth behind the edge of the carpet to block that path. Use the wide end to pull the dual fuse. The other way is to disconnect the negative lead to the 12 volt battery in the trunk for 5 minutes. This will require the ICE to relearn its operating parameters and some of the configuration you may have done to be repeated.

If the brake shoes touch the brake rotors by definition you can't get 100%.
-
Have you taken into account that there is a 30% Federal tax credit on the cost of the charger and the installation?
-
The 120 volt charger charges both batteries but not at the same time. The email or text message indicating completion of charge applies to the HVB. If the charger is still in charge mode, do not disconnect it until it drops out of charge mode.
-
The battery miles indicator is an educated guess based on how the car has been driven previously. If you do some hard accelerations or turn the heat or A/C on maximum the estimate will drop significantly. If you ignore the number and just watch the HVB fill level it shows how much energy is left in the battery.

I think I remember seeing them both go to 5 KW. With a preheated cabin it would be best to have the heat on when you leave. It takes less energy to maintain the cabin at a set temperature than it does to heat it back up from cold after letting it cool off.

Charging when you live near the top of a hill
murphy replied to sjb's topic in Energi Driving Tips & Tricks
None that I know of. How big could the hill be in Florida? Sounds like it would be more trouble than it is worth. Now if the hill was Pikes Peak that would be a different story. ;) -
It's $.16 per kWh in Philadelphia, PA.

Pro: If the car wasn't preconditioned the energy would come from the battery or ICE. Con: If the car was in a climate controlled garage the energy would not come from the battery or ICE.

Using the buttons below the touch screen. Push the Max A/C button. Push the A/C button. Push the Recirculate button. Adjust the fan speed to your desired setting.

For future reference there is a piece of white plastic in the upper left corner of the fuse block. It is a fuse puller. It has a narrow end for the single fuses and a wide end for the double fuses. Be careful when it is removed from its resting place. If dropped there is a chance that it will fall behind the carpet instead of into the foot well.

How is AT&T cell phone service at your house? The car calls home using the AT&T cell phone network. Did you pull fuse 10 in the driver's foot well and not fuse 10 under the hood? Did you check the fuse to see if it was still good? At the cost of having to redo some settings and having the ICE relearn its operating parameters you can achieve the same result by disconnecting the negative lead on the 12 fvolt battery in the trunk for 15 minutes if fuse 10 is still good.

Using the console buttons: Push the MAX A/C button. Push the A/C button. Push the recirculate button. Adjust fan speed to your liking.

Not unless you have an expensive high power inverter that generates pure sine waves at 60 Hz. Motors require pure sine wave power to work properly. The 150 watt inverter that is built into the car puts out a 110 volt crappy waveform that is not good for most appliances.

RMS (root mean square) sine voltage (the standard 120 volts or 240 volts from your wall) times the square root of 2 equals the peak voltage. Bridge rectify the AC voltage and feed it to a large capacitor and you get a DC voltage very close to the peak voltage. That is the maximum DC voltage available without special circuitry or a heavy iron core transformer with large gauge wire to handle the current.
