  1. The Go time is the time that you want to get in the car and leave. It will compute how much before that time it needs to turn on the heater or A/C to meet the requirements. If you have a 240 volt charger you do not lose any charge. The energy to heat / cool the car is drawn from your AC utility company.
  2. How long was the battery terminal disconnected? There are many capacitors throughout the system that have to lose their charge before the system is completely discharged. Some settings are stored in non-volatile memory and will not be affected by disconnecting the battery. The odometer reading for example.
  3. EV later does not automatically start the ICE. It puts the Energi in hybrid mode. There are a lot of parameters that determine when the ICE starts. They include outside temperature, inside temperature, charge level in the hybrid battery, power demand based on accelerator position, and who knows what else. If the ICE is not running it will use the HVB to generate heat. The only way to prevent heat generation from the HVB, that I am aware of, is to turn the climate control system off. Preconditioning the car, which works best with a 240 volt charger, is the best way to get the car ready to go.
  4. When charging of the HVB completes it then charges the 12 volt battery if it needs it. The text message and email indicating the end of charging comes when the HVB is charged but before the 12 volt battery is charged.
  5. I just tried it. I do not get the third beep but my auto seat movement works. Have you checked to see if the seat moves back when the car is turned off?
  6. It worked fine for me. I have remotes configured to all three buttons. I also have three different door keypad codes configured. Did you enable easy entry/exit in the left screen?
  7. Since you are in PA the effect would be minimal since all windows must allow 70% of the light through the window for cars. http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/pdotforms/fact_sheets/fs-sun.pdf
  8. You have to be above 20 mph to engage the cruise control so it's not going to work if your speed drops below 20 mph. Above 20 mph it works fine. I've seen a couple reports on the forum of people setting the cruise speed to a high value so the car just follows the car in front at the selected spacing.
  9. ACC uses radar to measure the distance to the car in front of you and to maintain the separation based on the setting that you have chosen. There are four settings. It controls the throttle to match the speed of the car in front if it is going slower than the speed setting in your car. I can't think of a reason that wheel size would matter. Auto high beams require a clean windshield in front of the camera. They can be flaky depending on reflective road signs, tail light brightness, lane separation, etc. They don't work any better than the system I designed and installed in my 1953 Ford around 1960. I usually disable them because for 95% of my driving high beams are not needed. I have no opinion on the wheels. I can't see mine when I'm driving the car so as long as they work that's all I need to know.
  10. It's working fine for me at 7:18 PM EDT.
  11. That is normal hybrid operation. It uses the battery as much as possible. Otherwise there would be no advantage to energy recovery from regen braking.
  12. I've never leased a car but that doesn't sound right. When you lease a car the leasing company owns the car. How could you be able to trade or sell a car that you don't own???
  13. Your accountant is operating on what he thinks without checking the facts? http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/30D.-New-Qualified-Plug-in-Electric-Drive-Motor-Vehicles-%E2%80%93-Ford-Motor-Company
  14. MFT doesn't know about DST. I have read that at one time it did and they removed it. Press the GPS clock set button and then press the hour up button.
  15. The cabin heater is 5kW according to the indicated load when driving the car. 120 volts times 15 amps = 1.8 kW. 240 volts times 15 amps = 3.6 kW Neither charger can fully utilize the cabin heater for preconditioning. By the way standard US voltages are 120 and 240 volts and have been for a very long time. https://www.crmagnetics.com/Portals/0/TechnicalReference/standard-voltages.pdf The 110, 117, 220 values haven't existed in the US interconnected grid for a long time if ever.
  16. Are you connecting the charger to the AC power before the plug is connected to the car? If done the other way, car first and then AC, there will be a random delay before charging starts. This is indistinguishable from power coming back on after a power failure. The random delay is so all chargers don't come on at the same time which could overload the electric utility.
  17. It will go to the EV battery. There is only ony battery. The hybrid battery is a reserved portion of the whole battery. There is a thread on the forum describing a complete recharge of the EV battery coming down from the top of Pikes Peak in CO.
  18. My copy of the winter 2014 edition of MY Ford magazine came with a $750 coupon good from 1/17/14 to 3/31/14. It's good on a lease or purchase of a 2013/2014/2015 Ford vehicle.
  19. The car has a GPS receiver whether or not it has a NAV system. SYNC uses it to provide turn by turn directions independent of NAV via directions downloaded via your smartphone. EV+ holds off starting the ICE when you are very close to home, if the hybrid battery portion still has sufficient charge, on the assumption that the battery will be hooked to a charger when it reaches home.
  20. That is correct. If the battery is full the ICE will run in air compressor mode to hold back the car. It is not actually running and uses no gasoline when doing this.
  21. The same effect can be achieved by disconnecting the negative lead from the 12 volt battery in the trunk. Much easier on the back. The ICE will have to relearn its operating parameters though.
  22. Since I am retired and can take multiple trips from home during the day the L2 was a must.
