Transit Connect is normal. The web site is in Europe and the Fusion isn't sold in Europe.

If you have the VIN for the car go here http://www.researchmaniacs.com/Ford/TrackFactoryCarOrders.html scroll down and insert the VIN into the box and then click the button. This will give you the window sticker for the car which will have the MSRP for the car. Next go here http://www.etis.ford.com/ Click on Vehicle and insert the VIN This will provide the date of manufacture in European format (DD/MM/YY). That should give you enough information to make a decision. I think the MSRP will be around $45,000.

Driver Alert Warning Reset Suggested
murphy replied to garrickk's topic in Advanced Driver Assistance Technologies
She is watching the road too close to the car. Back when cars had hood ornaments the recommendation was to sight past the hood ornament to where the sight line intersects the right side of the road. In other words keep the hood ornament tracking on the right edge of the road. After a while I developed "muscle memory" to do that without consciously thinking about it. The muscles still remember even though I no longer have a hood ornament. -
That is correct. The car does not understand the NTFS format. It must be FAT and with those sizes of USB sticks it will have to be FAT32.

Did you do any high speed driving in EV mode? That runs the battery down in a hurry and will reduce future range estimates.

How does a full battery accept regen braking energy?

Only cars that are shipped to Canada and fleet vehicles have DRLs. Ford, for some unknown reason, will not allow their dealers to enable the DRLs. A few people have found dealers that will deviate from the Ford party line and enable them. It may be that they have to be a Ford / Lincoln dealer. There is a very long thread on DRLs already discussing the problem.

How does a full battery accept regen braking energy?

Why is the engine on? Set the car to EV only mode. Get up to 35 mph. Take your foot off of the accelerator and shift to L. Does your car not slow down in a hurry? The battery can not be completely full or there is no regen braking. -
MyFord Mobile responsiveness and lack of options

It sounds like you didn't complete the registration. After you register on the web site you go to your car and acknowledge the message that appears on the center screen. Then you wait for 24 hours and acknowledge another message on the center screen. This is a security procedure to prevent someone from taking control of a car that they have test driven. It's best to do the registration using a computer at the myfordmobile web site. -
Read the paragraph entitled "Fuel Freshness Mode (Energi Vehicles Only)" It's on page 158 in the manual that came with my car. The car has a closed pressurized fuel system. Hence the need for a button to depressurize the system before the door is opened. I have to assume Ford knows what they are doing. I'm not going to second guess them. I keep gas a lot longer than 1 month in the gas cans for my mowers. I do put Sta-Bil in the cans when the mowers are parked for the winter.
-
If the gas stays in the tank for 18 months the computer will force the engine to run to use it up. It will also run the engine for oil maintenance. I have not seen either of those situations since two 265 mile trips at the end of 2013 used more than a tank of gas. This is all covered in the Owner's Manual.

When driving in L the car decelerates rapidly when you take your foot off of the accelerator pedal. The downside is you are slowing down without the brake lights being on to warn the driver behind you. At least I don't think they are on. Has anyone tested this? -

The Energi has regen coasting if you drive in L. -
There is a point of no return with HOV lanes. If too many people are allowed to use them the HOV lane(s) will be just as clogged as the regular lanes. There is a different approach on the 495 beltway around Washington, DC. They built new lanes between the existing lanes that are EasyPass only lanes. The cost to use them varies. If the regular lanes are flowing at the speed limit the cost is at it's lowest point. As the regular lanes start backing up the cost of using the EasyPass only lanes rises. The slower the regular lanes move the higher the EasyPass price goes. The cost is posted on overhead electric signs.

Because I don't want there to be any chance that the engine will start. In EV Now it will pop up a message in the left display saying to push the OK button to allow the engine to start. I ignore the message. If you do a full throttle acceleration the engine will start immediately without asking permission. I purchased 26.5 gallons of gasoline in 2013. I haven't purchased any gasoline so far in 2014.

When/how should I be notified of scheduled maintenance?
murphy replied to howardbc's topic in 2013 Fusion Energi
From the Owner's Manual Lifetime Summary: • Distance - The distance traveled on battery power only (EV distance) and Regen distance are displayed. Regen distance is the estimated range gained from energy recaptured through regenerative braking. • Energy Use - Average fuel economy. • Brake Score - The average percentage of braking energy recaptured and returned to the high voltage battery through regenerative braking. -
My longest one way trip around home is 10.5 miles. All of my driving is electric only except for the really cold weather when the engine is forced to run. When I go to my brothers house 265 miles away I leave in EV Later (Hybrid) mode with a fully charged battery. When I reach my brother's house I use EV Now mode for local driving and recharge the battery before I leave using the 120 volt charger. I drive home in EV Later mode and switch to EV Now mode when I get off of the high speed roads.. EV Now works best for city driving. At 65 mph the battery will go down really fast. I never use Auto mode because I never want to use the battery at the beginning of a long trip.

Energi keeps dying, requires jumps, CEL on, charge errors

If you have adaptive cruise control on your Energi be careful using cruise control on the loaner. It will run you right into the back of the car in front of you. -

It sounds like you have a value charge configured to start at a time when you are not at home. -
I meant when you tried to start it. It must be in Park to start the car.

Was the car in Park?

To the right of the headlight switch. There is also one to the right of the license plate light.
