I am not aware of any way to do that.

Stored trouble codes can be displayed in Engineering Test mode. With the car turned off press and hold the left OK button. Start the car. Watch the upper left area of the left display for the letters ET to appear in yellow/orange. When you see the ET release the OK button. You can then use the up and down buttons to scroll through several screeens of data. One of those screens displays DTCs. Exit ET mode by holding the OK button until the mode turns off or turn the car off.

I think they are trying to "prime the pump". Dealers are not stocking the Focus Electric so there is no way for prospective customers to learn about the car other than word of mouth from current owners. In the entire market in Philadelphia, PA and adjacent NJ there are only seven 2014 Focus Electric cars available (5 in PA and 2 in NJ). My dealer doesn't have one and to my knowledge has never had one. There is only one used Focus Electric within 100 miles of my zip code.

Not quite. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_per_gallon_gasoline_equivalent

The fact that daytime running lights are on the sticker indicates it is either a fleet car or a canadian car. Regular 2013 and 2014 models do not have DRLs even as an option.

WARNING - Spare Wheel For Hybrid Doesn't Work For Energi
murphy replied to murphy's topic in Tires & Wheels
Have you tried to install it on your car? Maybe they got you one that will fit. -
Does anyone know if we can charge at Ford Dealerships?
murphy replied to dmackdaddy's topic in Batteries & Charging
At $10 they obviously don't want you to charge. That's about the same as paying $48 for a gallon of gasoline. -
An air conditioner has to get rid of the heat that it removed from the cabin air. Sending it to the radiator is one way to do it.

The compact spare wheel that was found for the Fusion Hybrid, CV6Z-1015-B, does NOT work on a Fusion Energi. It appears that the Energi has larger brakes than the Hybrid. The CV6Z-1015-B wheel jams against the brake caliper of an Energi which prevents it from turning. Guess how I know that. :gaah: :banghead:

New to Energi - Connecting to Wireless
murphy replied to James Kirk's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
You missed the point. I'm not talking about the WiFi server in the car. The limitation is on the WiFi client software. If the Wireless access point that you want to access has a key longer than 10 characters it is impossible for the car to connect to it. If there is any limit at all on client software it should be 63 characters. -
2. Orange cables are high voltage (300 volts). That is the high voltage battery disconnect. There should not be any exposed terminals. The high voltage is turned off when the car is not in RUN mode (green light in lower right corner of dash display). Children should never be allowed to be in a car when an adult is not present.

I'm 10 miles from my dealer so half of the charge would be used getting back home. -
The estimates are conservative. The 240 volt estimate is 2.5 hours but I am always done at slightly over 2 hours. It will depend on the wiring to the receptacle that you are using. Heavier wire will have less voltage drop allowing more energy to make it to the car instead of heating the wire inside of the walls.

My Ford dealer installed the required charger but they park cars waiting to be serviced in front of it so it can't be used. I wouldn't use it without asking permission. -
The computer stops injecting fuel. One of the electric motors has the ability to spin the ICE to start it. Feed the regenerated power to that motor and it turns the ICE which becomes an air compressor. Compressing air uses up the extra energy.

New to Energi - Connecting to Wireless
murphy replied to James Kirk's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
No. The built-in WiFi has no connection to MFM. It also limits the client security key to 10 characters. Obviously whoever made that decision knows nothing about security. No. There is no way to know the MFM data transceiver's signal strength. Mine doesn't work most of the time with the car in the garage. -
The top electric speed for the Energi has always been 85 mph. The Hybrid was originally limited in top speed and was later increased to match the Energi.

I've never leased a car so I can't answer the lease questions. The oil change interval on an Energi is 20,000 miles or 2 years, whichever comes first. My dealer tried to convince me it should be changed at 5000 miles. I'm of the opinion that Ford knows more about their engines than a service writer does.

The energy lost in heating the extension cord means the voltage at the charger is lower than it should be so it will take longer to charge the battery. That's why I went with a 10 gauge extension cord.
-
Note that the wheel well in the trunk of an Energi is not available for a spare tire. The cooling fans for the battery are in the center of the wheel well.
-
I have used a 50 foot 10 gauge extension cord with no problem. I think the warning is there because most people that have extension cords laying around have 16 gauge wire in them.

Your distance from the car has no bearing on the function. The app communicates through the cell phone network to Ford's MFM server which then places a call to the data transceiver in the car to execute the requested function. The app provides all of the information that you mentioned but only after the second message to the car has been accepted on the car's screen 24 hours after the first message. If you have done that then the next step would be to uninstall the app from the phone, restart the phone to get rid of any left over data, and then re-install the app. Can you do all of the functions from the web site?
-
Make sure the car is in a location where it can get a strong signal from the AT&T cell phone network. If that doesn't work you could pull fuse #10 in the drivers foot well or if you don't mind resetting a few things disconnect the negative lead of the 12 volt battery which achieves the same thing without standing on your head.
-
The power ports should turn off about 70 minutes after the car is turned off. If you have a low 12 volt battery they go off when the driver's door is opened.

2013 Titanium sitting on lot for months
murphy replied to wazer's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
If you lease, the leasing company owns the car and they get the credit. Usually they will pass it through into the lease contract. The credit can only be claimed on your tax return if you buy the car outright.
