No spoiler-delete option for 2015 FFE Titanium?
murphy replied to musicmafia's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Probably a cost reduction move. Now they don't have to have two different trunk lids and two different sets of torsion bars. -
I have a 10kW PV system (40 panels) on my roof. It is grid tied which means when I am generating more power than I need it feeds back to the power company. When it is dark outside the power comes back to me for free. Once a year in May they pay me for whatever is in my banked power account at their regular price to compare. Since the system was installed at the end of last September it has generated 8.9 mWh (mega watt hours) of power. The Federal government paid for 30% of the system as a Federal tax credit. The state of PA paid $7500.00 directly to the installer which reduced my cost by that amount. My electric bill is $7.12 per month (the fixed charge for having an account). In addition the state of PA gave me $1000.00 ( not tax free) for purchasing my Energi. The power company gave me $50.00 (not tax free) for telling them that I purchased a plug-in car. A comment: No where in the USA is the voltage 220. The voltage is 240 and is split in half for the 120 volt circuits. The transformer on the pole has a center tapped 240 volt secondary winding with the center tap being the neutral. The three wires feeding your house have 240 volts between the two hot wires and 120 volts from each hot wire to the neutral. The neutral is connected to ground at the first panel, and only the first panel, in your house if you have more than one panel.

System Off due to Battery Conservation Mode

Done. -
It's not drawing 1 amp, it's drawing 0.5 amp. You do not add the leg currents together on a 240 volt circuit.

Highest miles showing after full recharge
murphy replied to JesseDiaz's topic in Batteries & Charging
It's an estimate based on how the car has been driven recently. Lead foot it and the number will go down. Drive smoothly with no hard acceleration and it will go up. Turn on the heater (winter) or A/C (summer) and the number will go down. Brake early and lightly and it will go up. Wait till the last second and mash the brakes and it will go down. -
Prepaid Maint. Package is it worth the $s
murphy replied to Lisa Hansen's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
If you really mean maintenance and not the extended warranty you would be paying $400 per year for maintenance. The first oil change is at 20,000 miles or 2 years, whichever comes first. If you use the regen braking properly the brake pads are not going to wear out. IMHO $400 a year for maintenance is pure profit for the dealer. If you actually meant the extended warranty, it depends on how many miles you drive per year. I am a low mileage driver and bought the 7 year / 36,000 mile / $0 deductible warranty extension from Flood Ford for $570. I will not reach 36,000 miles in 7 years. -
The alarm has no way to know that a window has been broken. It monitors all 4 doors, the hood, and the trunk.
-
If your local dealer is not EV certified they are not allowed to work on an EV electrical problem. That would be like having a plumber work on your house wiring.
-
If you make multiple trips from home during the day the ability to completely recharge in two hours is very nice. I last bought gasoline when I was 265 miles from home in December of 2013.
-
Depends on who is doing it. The first oil change on my 2010 Fusion Hybrid, whoever did the oil change left the oil cap cover open and slammed the hood down. It destroyed the plastic engine cover and the hood liner. I think they could tell how upset I was because it was all replaced without hesitation. They also may want to try to sell you something while you are in for the free oil change like a tire rotation.
-
Ford says the Energi does not need an oil change until two years or 20,000 miles whichever comes first. Select the ESP plan that you want and it will display the cost. You are unlikely to find a better price anywhere else. https://www.floodfordesp.com/coverage.php

Voice Commands Blocked by Rear View Camera
murphy replied to murphy's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
My level 2 charging cable won't reach if I back in. -
I was ready to activate a stored route this morning. I had backed out of the garage and was stopped waiting for the garage door to close. I pushed the Voice command button and there was no response. I pushed it a few more times but nothing happened. Thinking it might be blocked by reverse I shifted to Drive but there was still no response. The rear view camera was still on because I have it set to stay on for a short time after shifting to Drive. Not until I was moving forward and the camera turned off was I able to get a response from the Voice button. :(

Two possibilities for restarting the datalink transceiver. The hard way, especially if you get dizzy when you stand on your head. Remove fuse 15 from the fuse panel that is located up and to the left of the driver's footwell for 1 minute. Easier. Disconnect the negative lead of the 12 volt battery in the trunk for 1 minute. This will also result in the ICE having to relearn its operating parameters. If that doesn't fix the problem then a trip to your dealer is in order.

+1 unless you want to hear a list of your mistakes. ;)

The donut spare that was found to work for the Fusion hybrid does not work on the front or the rear of an Energi. I think the Energi has a larger diameter rotor than the Hybrid possibly because of the much larger, and heavier, battery. There is zero clearance with the caliper.

This is the first time that the EPA number has been changed for the Ford Fusion Energi. The number was previously lowered for the Ford C-MAX Energi, -

Free Money ....EPA mileage restatement
murphy replied to Energized's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I bought my Energi in April 2013. During 2013 I bought 26.507 gallons at a cost of $85.12 for two trips to a destination 265 miles away. I have not bought any gas so far in 2014 and have a 1/4 tank left. My MPGe so far for this month is 112.4 My MPGe for 2013 was 59.94. My MPGe for 2014 so far is 74.17. The MPGe numbers were brought down by the never ending winter. -
As long as the run is under 100 feet no increase in wire size is needed. If you are doing the wiring yourself buy a roll of red electrical tape and wrap the white wire with red tape, at both ends of the cable, to completely cover the exposed white insulation. This warns the next guy that opens the panel or receptacle that it is a hot wire and not a neutral.

The generator is 1250 watts. 1250 watts divided by 120 volts is 10.4 amps. The car wants slightly less than 12 amps at 120 volts to charge. The car would overload the unit.
-
If gasoline is in the tank for 18 months, without being replenished, the computer will force the engine to run to burn the gas down to about an 1/8 of a tank. The burn can be aborted by adding fresh gas to the tank. If the HVB gets too hot the engine will come on to power the car while the battery cools down. The HVB is cooled by cabin air so keep the A/C running.

The car comes with two keys (fobs). You paid for two keys. There is another key somewhere that can be used to operate your car. The dealership should either find it or provide a second key, at their expense, and clear the key memory in the car and then program in the two keys. You should get Ashley, from Ford Service, who posts on this forum quite often involved in this problem.
