  1. Make sure that when the dealer installs the all weather floor mats he doesn't keep the regular mats. I only use the all weather mats in the winter. My car came with the all weather mats in a plastic bag in the trunk, The dealer did not install them.
  2. No it has not been completed. If the sticker says 9/15 then the build date is 9/22. That's still a month away.
  3. I got it on May 7. Here is the contents of the version.txt files from both cards. Region=NA SubRegion=NA_UC Version=A4 Map=20120813 Region=NA SubRegion=NA_UC Version=A5 Map=20120822 The map is 9 days newer. In other words it didn't change.
  4. The A5 card is available. I didn't see anything different. The main highway near my house still has the speed limit wrong. It still gets the number for my house wrong by over 50 house numbers. The house was built in 1957, there is no excuse for it being wrong. I got it off of eBay for around $50.
  5. At the very bottom of the sticker in the margin is the date you accessed the sticker. Above that is a row of characters. At the right end of the characters is the date the sticker was created. Add 7 days to that date to get the build date assuming there are no mexican holidays during that time. Delivery from the factory, in Hermosillo, Mexico, is by rail. It took two weeks for my car to travel by rail to the east coast. How long it takes to Montana depends on how often freight trains make that trip. "Bucked" means the frame the car rests on while moving down the assembly line has been put in place at the beginning of the assembly line. If he wouldn't tell you it means that he doesn't know. Bucked would appear on the daily report that the dealer receives. Throughout my experience with this car I have always known far more about the car than the salesman knew. All most of them know is how to say "isn't it pretty?". It seems the main requirement for a sales person is the ability to talk smoothly about a subject whether or not they know anything about the subject.
  6. It's not just John Q Public. I had to stop my salesman from trying to manually rotate the charge port door to close it the day I picked the car up. It was on the charger when I arrived.
  7. Very probable, 3 phase power is 208 volts.
  8. I wish Ford would partner with Telsa. The Energi with a Tesla 85 kWh battery would be awesome. Maybe when the prices come down after the "gigafactory" is in operation in 2017 it will be possible.
  9. The friction brakes can be engaged at 40 mph. Regen only braking takes a very light touch on the pedal. If you don't get a braking score of 100 the friction brakes were used.
  10. Right on time my check was delivered while I was mowing the lawn. :happy feet:
  11. Did you sign up for FedEx Delivery Manager?
  12. 1. The 12 volt battery is charged by the DC/DC converter from the HVB whenever the car is in run mode. 2. The 12 volt battery does not start the ICE. The 12 volt battery runs the computers and accessories. 3. The 12 volt battery is charged after the HVB. The charge indicator on the charger will stay on if the 12 volt battery is being charged. 4. There is only one HVB. Hybrid mode uses a portion of the HVB. If you get enough regen it is possible to completely recharge the HVB. Someone did it coming down from the top of Pikes Peak (over 14,000 feet). 5. There is only one system. 6. The ICE does not charge the 12 volt battery. It is only charged by the DC/DC converter. 7. The 2010-2012 Fusion Hybrid forced the ICE on at 47 mph. The 2013 and later force the ICE on at 85 mph. 8. The 12 volt battery is always being charged, if it needs to be charged, by the DC/DC converter. The ICE does not charge the 12 volt battery, there is no alternator in the car. There is also no starter motor.
  13. I got a FedEx notice that I will receive a delivery on Thursday. :spend:
  14. My car was built April 1, 2013. It was shipped April 2, 2013 and I drove it home from the dealer on April 15, 2013.
  15. Neither, it's the date the sticker was created. The build date is 7 days later so it will be finished on 8/21. Shipping to the east coast takes about 2 weeks especially if they go to Chicago for the handoff from the western rail line to the eastern rail line. There might be a southern route that would avoid the trip through Chicago.
  16. They use their computer to toggle a setting in the body control module.

    Auto Up Windows

  18. Yes, that is DRLs and an indication of a driver that needs to be retrained. In that situation they are driving without dashboard lighting. It should be obvious that the headlights need to be turned on.
  19. Since you have your VIN go to this web site and enter it. http://www.researchmaniacs.com/Ford/TrackFactoryCarOrders.html That will display your window sticker if it is available. The car will be built (finished) 7 days after the window sticker is issued.
  20. I have been reading about Tesla service. They have a different approach. All cars get all of the updates so all cars are kept current. The recommended process is with the car connected to your home WiFi (faster) although it can be done via the built-in data radio (slower). Ford is continually improving the software in the car but unless you report a problem your car never gets updated. You can't go in and ask to have all of the software brought up to date. You only get an update if you report a problem and there is an update that covers the problem. I've lost track of how many times I have been in to have a problem fixed (12 volt battery charging, windows not working, inability to program a third Intelligent Acess Key, etc.). I have seen the car's location be way off on the navigation map and the hoops I have to go through to get the car into vent mode. I live with those because it takes a minimum 3 hours of my time to get a problem taken care of.
  21. The bulbs are 5 watts. The side marker lights appear to be LEDs (they are not shown in the wiring diagram). 10 watts is negligible when compared to the heater or the air conditioner. Besides I've been driving with the parking lights on for a year so now the tail lights won't be on.
  22. Apparently not. Many people don't like change. Some drivers of diesel trucks have modified them so at the flip of a switch they can produce huge clouds of black smoke anytime they see a Tesla. It even has a name - "rolling coal". It makes no sense to me. Be happy that you are one of the enlightened few.
  23. After going 16 months without DRLs and trying to remember to turn on my parking lights because my dealer refused to enable the DRLs as a result of Ford's idiotic policy, I modified my car. I cut the two wires to the front parking lights and connected the lights to the feed for the windshield wiper motors. That feed is hot whenever the car is in RUN mode. I now have DRLs whenever the car is ready to drive. :)
  24. I have now put 1 mWh (1000 kWh) of power into my Energi. :hysterical: :happy feet:
