How big is the lettering? Are they going to have to get even closer to be able to read it?
-
Yes. Mine currently has 1/2 a tank of gas and is predicting that I can go 328 miles (309 on gas and 19 on battery) so with a full tank that would be 309 + 309 + 19 = 637.

I have to delete and re-download the app every time my dealer does a reset during service.

You can set up a GO time in the car, no sync required in that case. -
Here is the sticker from my 2013 Energi.

VHR not being Processed by Sync Website Today
murphy replied to murphy's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
I started this thread 10 days ago because two VHRs that I ran never showed up. Today at 7:40 AM and 7:46 AM I received notifications via text and email that a VHR was available on the website. The VHR on the website was the last one that I ran on 2/10 so at least the newest one was not replaced with older ones. :detective: :headscratch: :redcard: -
Ford Service Techs: Trips do not show on MFM trip log??
murphy replied to openair's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Trips less than about 1.5 miles are not recorded on the website. -
If the 12 volt battery is dead the car will also be dead. Without the 12 volts there is no way to pull in the relay that connects the HVB. 30 minutes of idling is no where near long enough to charge the battery. Plus a wet cell battery that has gone completely dead has most likely been damaged. Make sure that the dealer tests the battery.

The voltages on the US power grid are 120 volts and 240 volts. 240 volt charging, in addition to being faster, is more efficient so it will cost less to charge the battery. If you live in an area that gets cold and wish to preheat the cabin using GO times, 240 volts is the way to go. There is not enough power available from a 120 volt charger to successfully heat the cabin. 120 volts times 12 amperes equals 1440 watts. 240 volts times 16 amperes equals 3840 watts.

The "fuel economy thing" is the check you should have received by now. I got the check a long time ago but it still appears in my recall list. -
If it is very cold out the heater can cut the miles in half. It draws 5 kW when fully on. Do you have a 240 volt charger? If you do set up a GO time so the cabin is warm before you start your trip. This preheats the cabin from wall power instead of draining the battery. Another way is to start out in EV Later mode which preserves the battery charge and heats the cabin using heat from the engine. Once the cabin is warm then switch to EV Now mode. Also the battery efficiency drops in cold weather. A heated garage would help that but not many people have a heated garage, I certainly don't. The battery miles number is an estimate based on how the car has been driven in addition to the environmental conditions. If you have been heavy on the accelerator pedal when starting out, that will drop the estimate. I do most of my driving in EV mode. I used a total of 27 gallons of gasoline in 2014.

Energi Engineering Test Mode Hold the left OK button and start the car. Watch the upper left corner of the left display for the letters ET to appear in yellow. After the letters appear release the OK button. Use the down arrow to scroll through the screens. Press and hold the OK button or shut the car off to exit engineering test mode.

I think the federal specification that mandated TPMS says when it is 25% low. That would be 26.25 or lower. It's a gross error measurement which is not useful for keeping the tires inflated. The actual pressures are available with a bluetooth OBD II interface and the Forscan Windows software. That's a major inconvenience using a laptop to check tire pressures. It could have easily been included in the user interface. -
Here is what it looks like with the carpet removed. It is a single assembly that can be removed with the proper equipment.

VHR not being Processed by Sync Website Today

The Service Manager and I have been discussing the problem via email for several days. He took it to the Ford Hotline and the engineers recommended replacing the restraints control module. It was done today. The VHR is now clean. I think you missed my point. The restraints control module is responsible for lighting up the airbag tell-tale. If it can't talk on the buss it has no way to tell the module that controls the tell-tales to turn the airbag indicator on. I was told that they had to clear out a bunch of "U" codes. The only downside is I had to re-pair my phone and re-establish the MFM connection. -

The two VHRs that I ran on Sunday were a waste of time. They never showed up. I ran another VHR this morning and it was promptly posted to my Sync account and I got a text message indicating that it was ready to view. Apparently VHRs are not supported on Sunday. -

If you have anything connected to the ODB II port it must be disconnected to run a VHR. -

What if the Restraints Control Module has lost access to the communication buss and can't send a message to the module that turns the tell-tale on? This is not a hardwired system. Everything is done by sending communication messages across the buss. The VHR says to take the car to the dealer and have them run detailed diagnostics. -

Unfortunately that is not the case. There are no error indicators on my dash. For the second time my VHR is reporting that the "Restraints and Driver Assistance System" is unavailable. This was fixed once back on July 7, 2014. I have a feeling that it is related to the outstanding recall (14S21 Restraints Control Module Replacement) that can't be done until the third quarter of 2015 because parts are not available. -
I have run two VHR reports today, Sunday 2/08/2015. In both cases the car said they had been submitted successfully. Neither of them have shown up on the website and I did not receive the text notification that a new VHR is available. The VHR that is available on the website is an old one from the last time I ran a VHR. I am guessing that the server that processes incoming VHR data and posts it to the Sync website is down. This is not the first time that I have had trouble with VHRs on a Sunday. Ford needs to get its act together and realize that the Sync functionality needs to be available 24/7.

The only way to get that data is to install a kWh meter that records only what is used by the car. Charging is no where near 100% efficient. The most my car has ever reported gaining is 5.6 kWh. In that case the external meter measured 6.8 kWh. This is the one that I use with my 240 volt charger. http://www.ekmmetering.com/basic-kwh-meter-100a-120-240-volt-3-wire-60hz-ekm-25ids.html If you get it also order the mounting rail. If you are using the 120 volt charger that came with the car a Kill-A-Watt plug in meter will work. The downside for this one is it loses its reading when disconnected from power while the 240 volt one will maintain its reading, in the absense of power, for 10 years.

The HVB is warranted for 8 years or 100,000 miles. It's designed to last the life of the car. The full capacity of the battery is not available for use. It can never be fully charged or discharged.

April 1 2013 was the build date. I picked it up on April 15.

Service advisors are told to sell oil changes as often as they can. They are not responsible to Ford, only to the owner of the dealership. They want to get you in as often as they can to see what else they can sell to you. The official Ford maintenance schedule is 2 years or 20,000 miles as long as you aren't operating in dusty conditions or when the oil life monitor tells you that it is time. The display is the remaining oil life. My Energi will hit 2 years on April 1. It is currently showing 13%. I have slightly less than 5000 miles on mine. I used 20.7 gallons of gasoline during 2014.

My VHR has incorrect data for my car, a 2013 Energi. The correct oil life intervals are 2 years or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first.
