The problem with a wet cell lead acid battery is if it gets discharged the battery is permanently damaged. Material flakes off of the plates and collects at the bottom of the cell. If the pile of debris reaches the bottom of the plates it shorts out the cell. My Mustang Mach-E came with an AGM battery.

The accelerator pedal is two three terminal resistors wired directly to the computer. The computer controls the engine. When you press the brake pedal it engages the regenerative braking which comes from one of the electric motors acting as a generator. The differential has to reverse direction so the wheels are now driving an electric motor. I guess it could come from the differential when its direction is reversed.

The ICE does not have a starter motor. It is started by one of the two electric motors. The other electric motor has to be locked so it can't turn due to the gearing between the ICE and the two electric motors. That process is probably making the noise that you hear although in 8 years of driving an Energi I never heard anything that I considered abnormal. There is only one high voltage battery. It is partitioned as follows: 5.6 kWh - electric drive mode 1.5 kWh - hybrid drive mode 0.5 kWh - battery protection

Yes it should be 5000 watts. I must have been half asleep when I typed that. I fixed the error.

If the ICE water temperature is warm enough to warm the cabin it is used. If it is not warm enough the valve is closed and only heat from the 5000 watt resistive heater is used. Put the car in EV Later mode when you reach the highway to save the battery for later use. EV Later makes the car operate in hybrid mode. Switch back to EV Now mode when you leave the highway. I drove a 2013 Energi from April 2013 until June of this year when I traded it in on a 2021 Mach-E. I never put it into Auto mode the entire time. Auto uses the battery first and switches to hybrid mode when the battery is depleted.

Regen can't lock up the wheels. If the wheels aren't turning there is no regen braking. Only the friction brakes can lock up the wheels. There is anti-lock braking on the Energi.

I would leave it at 50%. I would also disconnect the negative lead of the 12 volt battery or it will be close to dead after a month. With the 12 volts disconnected the contactors can't be engaged so there will be no drain on the HVB. Tie a small rope to the emergency release handle in the trunk. Fold down the the right rear seat and tie the other end of the rope to the latch bracket for the seat. Make sure the child rear door locks are not enabled. When it is time to reactivate the car open the driver door with the metal key that is inside of the keyfob. Get into the car and open all of the doors. Pull the rope to open the trunk. Reconnect the 12 volt battery. Both batteries should be at the SOC you left them at.

The indicator ring can be turned off in the center screen. Is the car set to charge immediately when at home?

When the car is done charging it opens its contactor which removes the load from the EVSE. The EVSE reacts to this by opening its contactor effectively shutting it down. The 12 volt battery is charged after charging of the HVB is complete. You will get a notice in the app that charging is complete but when you go to the EVSE the charging light will still be on. Wait until the EVSE charging light goes out before disconnecting the cable.

The maximum rate for an Energi is 240 volts * 16 amps = 3840 watts. There is no such thing as 220 volts or 110 volts in the USA. It has been 240/120 for at least 50 years.

Buy a new 12 volt battery. If the car is going to sit not driven connect a battery charger to the terminals under the hood. A wet cell 12 volt battery that goes completely dead is permanently damaged. The car should have an AGM battery.

When running in electric only mode you are dragging around a heavy engine that is dead weight. My 2021 Mustang Mach-E averages 3.7 miles per kWh.

That many errors sounds like a broken ground connection. Is anything else connected to the OBD2 port besides the MX? If there is, remove it. A cheap ELM reader can cause problems with communications on the buss. -
I don't know. 6 months after I got my 2013 Energi I removed the wet cell lead acid battery and replaced it with an AGM battery. That required removal of the battery tray so the end could be removed with a saw. There may be an AGM battery by now that fits. I no longer have the car. It was traded in on a 2021 Mustang Mach-E.
