  1. Yeah, I have been really dissapointed with the amount of rattles/squeaks/buzzes in this car. Had it just over a year now and I've been putting up with a buzzing from the dash area by the windsheild for the last few months. Sometimes its not as noticeable, but if the ICE is on or I'm on anything but a perfectly smooth road, it is extremely annoying. When I took it in for the original issue, they had it for about a week, and I just can't afford to be without a car that long.
  2. I have noticed that if someone else tries to open a door when I am not in range with the fob, and then I attempt to open the door, the door will remain locked. Sometimes multiple tries will get me in, sometimes not, in which case I have to press unlock on the key fob. I don't know if this is a security feature or not. If this is built in, a weak fob battery might make sense, where you touch it and it doesn't recognize the fob being within range at first, then subsequent attempts fail. Just a guess.
  3. Mine has the same issue. Would be a welcome function if it worked given the weather here lately.
  4. $44k sticker, $0 down, $0 fees, 15k miles/year, $424/month 24 months, ~$23k residual. BTW...if you can avoid it, don't put money down on a lease. If you are in an accident during your lease, you will likely not recover your down payment amount.
  5. http://www.theverge.com/2014/12/11/7375837/ford-sync-3-announced Sounds like some pretty decent improvements...hopefully it's not quite as painful as the current version.
  6. I don't think I've ever had this feature actually affect my steering when my hands are on the wheel. Yes, it feels like it's nudging, but as long as my hands are on the wheel, it doesn't actually affect the trajectory of the car.
  7. Mine had the check engine light on at 550 miles...I think it was TSB 12-17-13 that fixed it? Something like that...I know it was a december 2013 one.
  8. I don't remember off the top of my head, but aren't they numbered on the screen when the categories pop up? Can you just say "one" or "option one"?
  9. I paid an extra $25 or so per month for tire/rim insurance, roadside assist, and free maintenance (rotate/balance/oil change). So I take mine in every 5k miles.

That makes zero sense...so if I'm cruising 65 on ICE, and it drops into hybrid mode so that I'm not using ANY gas for a whole mile, and when it's discharged enough that the ICE has to kick back on, I will consume MORE gas recharging the spent battery than I would have using gas for that mile? No way. If that were the case, then why would a manufacturer not just make it ICE only when the HVB is discharged and you're over a certain speed?

How is it more efficient to use gas instead of letting it drop into hybrid mode when possible?
  12. Yeah, I use it every day once I get up to 20...the only time i see it get above 2 bars is on steep hill climbs. It will get to about 2.3 bars in that case. However, I will note that if you get the coach bar down on accel, that engaging the cruise at 20 will not help increase the coach bar, it looks to stay the same.
  13. It doesn't look like anything huge... What’s included in this update? EA5T-14D544-AC Gen2 - V3.7 ABOUT THE LATEST UPDATE The new software update for SYNC® with MyFord Touch systems includes all the improvements from previous updates, plus additional benefits such as: Navigation: Map content for Europe and Australia/New Zealand regionsMute button for SYNC Navigation prompts added to Navigation map screenEstimated "Time of Arrival," instead of "Time to Destination" now shown on map screenThe installation of this update will take up to 30 minutes to complete. Be sure to keep your engine running (not in accessory mode) throughout the entire installation process. Turning off your vehicle during the update installation will disrupt the process. Although your vehicle must be in park when you begin the installation process, you may drive your vehicle while the update is downloading to your SYNC system. If your vehicle is equipped with the Intelligent Access with Push Button Start feature, you will need to temporarily disable the Automatic Engine Idle Shutdown (AEIS) component before beginning the installation in order to prevent your vehicle from timing out and shutting off the engine before the software update is complete. To disable this feature, use your steering wheel controls to navigate to the Settings menu on your left-hand Instrument Cluster LCD display. From there, select Vehicle >Auto Engine Off >Off. (If you do not see this setting, there is no need to make any changes before starting the update.) Alternatively, after initiating the installation, you may drive the vehicle during the update process to avoid shutting off the engine. The next time you start your vehicle, the AEIS will automatically reset to "On." Please note: During the update installation, SYNC will temporarily appear to not recognize your mobile phone or media device. This is normal. Once your system has been successfully updated, SYNC will display a notification stating "Installation complete."
  14. It can create quite the bottleneck on busy roads with that much speed differential between the posted speed limit. Interstates are 75 in NE and I wouldn't consider going below 70 unless it's a construction zone. I try to keep things within a 5 mph cushion of the posted limit.
  15. Temperature has been around 60 in the mornings, 75 in the afternoon. This morning it was at 16 miles and 50%, lunchtime, 14 miles and we'll call it 43%ish. Checked MFM now (3:25 Central), still at 14 and 43%ish. I just don't ever remember it dropping like that throughout the day. I keep a pretty close eye on my trips in the morning, gauging my efficiency on the drive in on how many miles I have left when I arrive each day. So it's noticeable when I get back in when I'm ready to leave when the numbers and the level don't match.
  16. I have a 2014 FFE, and lately it seems like the charge level drops throughout the day when it sits without being plugged it. I drive about 12 miles to work, and it sits for about 9 hours until I leave. When I park in the morning, I'll have around 17 (estimated) miles left, and the charge level will be about exactly half on the battery image. But when I leave, the estimated miles will be around 14, and the batter level has dropped some. I don't remember it doing this before (where the levels would drop between getting to and leaving from work). Is this something to be concerned about? I always thought the mileage remaining was an estimate based on recent driving behavior and the image was the actual percentage of the HVB remaining. I could see the mileage dropping maybe, but the actual image dropping as well? Seems weird to me.
  17. In my experience, the eco cruise will not go much above 2 bars, however, my eco cruise will not work until 20 mph.
  18. There's an updated firmware that actually gives a dedicated vent function? Does it have to be dealer applied?
  19. I just got a notice of a FedEx delivery today from the same location...whoo hoo!
  20. If you do a google search for "Ford drops Microsoft", it looks to be true (a lot of stuff around the end of February, but not a lot since then). Looks like they're going to Blackberry's (yikes!) platform.
  21. My auto headlamps turn on WELL before it's completely dark...they'll even come on on an overcast day sometimes.
  22. I call BS on the dealerships story. Looks like a scuff mark that someone could have left with their shoe. It would sound awful fishy to me if a dealer told me that the equivalent of me kicking the tires is going to damage my vehicle to the point that it is undrivable...total BS.
  23. Myself and a handful of others on here have had the CEL come on within the first 5k miles (500 miles for me). If your build date was before 11-5-13, I'd wager you'd fall into this TSB. I had this one applied and all has been well since. TSB 13-12-17 ENERGI - SERVICE ENGINE SOON LAMP AND DTC P2183 (built before 11/5/13)
  24. Still no check for me...went to the original link that provides the details on when the checks will be mailed out, the mileage revisions, etc. While browsing there, I saw that this affects 200,000(!) vehicles, and the average refund is $656 (assuming an equal distribution of leased and purchased vehicles and affected models. That's $131,200,000! That's quite a bit of coin.

    An EV newbie!

It's pretty obvious when the dealer passes the tax credit on to you. I leased mine, and among other incentives there was a $4007 "dealer incentive" that reduced the capitalized cost of my car. For those considering leasing this car, I don't know if this is a state-by-state or dealer-by-dealer practice, but if you don't see it on there, I'd definitely shop around.
