  1. "The peak hour rates from the power company is $0.3785 / kWh." Wow... just.. wow..
  2. I check this place out every so often. They do not offer an upgrade for the C-Max Energi or Fusion Energi yet.
  3. ALL models should be tested before they put a label on them claiming mpg performance, etc. I was surprised to hear that they don't. It's redonkulous, frankly.
  4. I bought a small portable jumper (Stanley?). It fits perfectly in the compartment in the floor in front of the back passenger seat. I have a C-Max Energi, so I don't know if the Fusion has the same compartment or not.
  5. Battery tech has been the biggest thing holding back the EV industry. No big breakthroughs yet, just incremental improvements.
  6. I upgraded (3.6) last night while on a short trip. Everything went well. I did have to reconnect and sync my phone, but all of my Nav locations came through intact, as did my radio stations. I had to set the clock forward 1 hour.
  7. It would be great if the warning burst into the song Roadhouse Blues "Keep your eyes on the road, and your hands upon the wheel" - The Doors
  8. Maybe they wanted to learn something for future reference.
  9. I left my headlights on the night before and the battery died. Somehow the 'Home Light' setting was set back to 'manual'. Since they upgraded, I did notice that the parking lights were blinking and when I connected the little backup jumper I bought the Nav screen said something about 'Battery Preservation Mode'. It's possible the upgrade only lets the battery discharge so much.
  10. From http://www.vrep.fordtechservice.dealerconnection.com/vdirs/oasis/oareq.asp?broadcast=ON&from 6248 - 2013 C-MAX/Fusion/MKZ - Hybrid And Energi – Cold Weather Charging Improvements See TSB: 13-06-23 for details. 13-06-23
  11. Still too much $, but getting better. The Bill of Materials on this stuff isn't that expensive.
  12. There are many many posts about the Nav system in all of the C-Max and Fusion forums. Count yourself lucky that the GPS actually shows where you are. There is an area I go to on a regular basis that is guaranteed to get me a 'Navigation Loading' message, and sometimes cause the system to crash. I think that section of teh map may be a corrupt file. The speech recognition is pretty horrible.
  13. There is no way you can recapture 100% of the energy expended to get up to speed, so it's an arbitrary number. I think of it as 100% of 'as good as it gets'. I'm thinking it may also show 100% if you can come to a stop without pushing the brake so hard you actually engage the brake pads instead of just the generator until the very end.
  14. You can also build your own charging station: http://code.google.com/p/open-evse/
  15. Glad to see the prices starting to moderate. There isn't much in the way of hardware on these things to justify prices more than a couple of hundred bucks. So far, low volume and little competition has kept the prices high, imo.
  16. Excellent. The most I have seen so far is 23 miles.
  17. "...I never considered the volt because of its limited all electric range and the Fusion does not have that problem because it is also a hybrid.". The Volt has almost twice the EV range as the Fusion Energi and is also a Hybrid, like the Fusion Energi.
  18. Volt may be better since you need more range. You won't be overbuying battery capacity with the 75 mile round trip.
  19. I got the SPX Level 2 charger for the Chevy Volt, on E-bay for $395. Works like a champ on the C-Max Energi!
