VERY WELL SAID ! ! !

If that is the case, why would Ford say "the Engineers are working on it" rather than telling me to have the dealer investigate a certain "module" on the vehicle?

Brakes grabbing (last 15 feet)
Bills_Fusion_Energi replied to GKB1000's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
This may be associated with the "anti-lock brakes" on the vehicle. -
Larryh: I’ve watched my 120v charging (using the charger that comes with the vehicle) and data collected from the Linear Logic Scan Gauge: During the charge times that I’ve watched (between 24% thru 98%) I see the HBC (High Voltage Battery Current) varying “every few minutes” between -1.59 (minimum) to -1.82 (maximum) with the temperature only varying from 85 to 87 (HBT) and the Voltage (HBV) varying from 318 to 327. MY REAL concern is the comparison between the 120v AC wattage and the High Voltage Battery Wattage (Volts X Amps) while charging. I’ve obviously watched my AC wattage MORE since I’ve only had the Scan Gauge for a few days but the 120v AC wattage varies between 1359 to 1374 watts and it also changes “every few minutes” and rarely goes above or below those values during MOST of the charge cycle. When I compute the High Voltage Battery Wattage is shows a min of 513 watts and a max of 587 watts. SO, “what is happening to the MISSING wattage 784 to 846 watts?” I realize that there are losses in the AC to DC converter in the vehicle and that not all of the wattage is being used to charge the High Voltage Battery, some of it is used to power the electronics on the vehicle and some (approx 60 watts) is used to charge the Low Voltage (12v) battery, as you have indicated in YOUR posts. I would expect the HBC to be above -4.0 amps to even get close to the AC wattage so what are your thoughts in this area? Bill

Well, it has been OVER FIVE MONTHS since I’ve reported this problem to the Ford Customer Relationship Center (800 392-3673) and the ONLY response I’ve received from them is “OUR ENGINEERS ARE WORKING ON THE PROBLEM” ! ! ! Despite ESCALATING the problem TWICE and involving the Ford In Vehicle Technology Team, I’ve specifically asked how this process works and getting an answer was like pulling teeth ! ! I finally received THIS answer: There is no separate database where the key is associated with the VIN. It is all done by MFM. The user personalizes the key based on trip information. The option to “personalize” the MyFord Mobile experience exists by tying a user’s key to their account. When the key is cycled from "run" to "off", a bundle of information is sent to the MFM database which indicates which key is in use--this is how MFM indicates which key was “active” during that drive. The elements that are "personalized" are DTE, My Achievements, Driving Style, CO2 Saved, distance driven, and Trip Log. If the above is true, why is it so hard to have MFM display this data for MY vehicle and numerous others that are reporting this problem while COUNTLESS others ARE seeing data displayed for them ? ? ?

I suspect that the SYNC Website is reporting the WRONG version for each user. This happened last December and it took them TWO weeks to fix the problem. If you check your actual vehicle MyTouch screen under Settings(two gears), Help, System Info, CCPU - The latest version should show 4.30.13171_Product which is the SYNC V3.6.2. The other day when I happened to check the Sync site it indicated my version was V3.6.2 and today it shows V3.5.1 the older version. Maybe the FordIVTteam can investigate this situation...

I'm really UPSET about the reliability of MyFordMobile also. You cannot depend on the information received from it ! ! ! Also, any information requested from Ford is like "pulling teeth" - sometimes you get an answer after weeks of waiting and other times there is just "silence". They do not seem to be interested in correcting any of the problems associated with it....

Did not see any problems with MyFordMobile yesterday - Made two trips early in the morning and MyFordMobile tracked the trip info OK. After 9PM Value Charging started and ended OK with MyFordMobile tracking the charging OK. I did however MISS the Value Charging STARTED text message but the Charge Complete text message was received about 10PM. Possible problem could be weak AT&T Cell Phone service in your area (AT&T network is used for communication between your vehicle and MyFordMobile).

Decided over the weekend to remove ALL the GO TIMES using MyFordMobile to see if it changed my Value Charge Profile Start Time. After an immediate Sync with my vehicle, the MyTouch display on the vehicle NEXT CHARGE Start Time immediately changed to the CURRENT TIME and DAY, with the Value Charge remaining ACTIVE. I then added ONE of the twelve possible GO TIME’s and after syncing with the vehicle, MyTouch showed the NEXT CHARGE Start Time to be 12:00 AM, the time set in the Value Charge Profiles. So, MY vehicle definitely needs at least ONE GO TIME to be set to enable the Value Charge Profile Next Charge time. Numerous users indicate that their vehicles DO NOT need a GO TIME to be set to use the Value Charge Profile Next Charge Time. NOT SURE why MY vehicle DOES.

General 12V Battery Issue Questions
Bills_Fusion_Energi replied to norcal's topic in Batteries & Charging
pluggedin: Your welcome - Even though the HighVoltage Battery may show 100% charged on MyFordMobile and on the vehicles MyTouch screen, the UPDATE will sometimes charge it for a minute or two, I assume that the HVB may be less than 100% charged, possibly 99.5% or more when this charge cycle is happening. Other users have suggested that AFTER the HVB battery charge the 12V battery is then charged. I'm also assuming that the vehicle is charging the 12V battery until it reaches it's NORMAL voltage, thus accounting for the varying charge times from 5 minutes to 2 hours. I have NEVER received a "Low Battery System Health" indication on MyFordMobile or on the vehicle so I think my 12V battery has never reached a level THAT low, whatever that threshold happens to be. Also sometimes a charge cycle does NOT happen, I suppose that the HVB has a 100% charge when that occurs. Good luck, Bill -
General 12V Battery Issue Questions
Bills_Fusion_Energi replied to norcal's topic in Batteries & Charging
For those that do not use their Fusion Energi vehicles everyday and are concerned that their Low Voltage 12 Volt battery might drop low enough to cause their vehicle to be inoperative, I may have a possible solution for you... I noticed a few months ago that the MYTouch display would shut off very quickly after the vehicle was shut off and I was in the accessory mode saying "It was conserving battery power". I started checking the voltage of my 12V battery and I noticed that sometimes it was a low as 11.8V. Normal voltage should be about 12.8V. After you complete the High Voltage battery charge, just leave the charger connector plugged into the vehicle if you are able to do so. Every time you log on to MyFordMobile and click on the UPDATE option your vehicle will enable the charging function (if the HV Battery indicates it will accept a charge) and while the HV battery is charging the 12V battery is also being charged at 14.4V. I've noticed that on my 2013 Fusion Hybrid that this EXTRA charge cycle can last anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours. I've never seen the "Conserving battery power" message since I've been doing that. -
Now that MY vehicle is following the Value Charging Profile times and NOT charging immediately when plugged in AFTER setting GO TIMES, I have noticed that when MY vehicle is plugged in the 120V charger is charging at 50 to 60 watts CONTINOUUSLY until the Value Charging Start and Stop times are reached. Yesterday the vehicle was plugged in at 12:30 PM – The Value Charging Start Time indicated the next morning, 12:00 AM until 12:50 AM. The 120V charger showed it charged at 60 watts for the first hour, then dropped to 50 thereafter and never shut off until 12:50 AM until the Value Charging was completed at 12:50 AM. I happened to check the 12V battery voltage BEFORE the 120V charger was plugged in, it showed 12.4V. I checked the 12V battery after the 120V charger was plugged in, it showed 14.4V. After the first hour the 12V battery showed 13.3V AND for the next 11.5 hours. This morning with the 120V charger indicating NO charging the 12V battery voltage is 12.6V at 6AM. And 12.5V at noon without the vehicle being used since yesterday. Other users have seen their chargers provide 50 to 60 watts of charging while waiting for Value Charging to Start, but the maximum time they indicate is only 1 to 2 hours. Most users agree that this LOW 50 to 60 watts indicates that the 12V battery is being charged. Are there any other users seeing this CONTINUOUS charging on their vehicles, while waiting for Value Charging to start ? ? ? Bill
