My dealer had no problem ordering mine and giving me X-plan pricing.

Woohoo! As of this morning, my car should be delivered to my dealer on Wednesday. :shift:

Nav SD Card A4 - Is this the latest Nav Card?
wazer replied to jgcec@yahoo.com's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
I'm truly glad that I didn't order navigation as an option for reasons such as this. I will continue using Waze as my primary solution for free. It includes live traffic and road reports, as well as the latest maps provided by the community, including myself. :) -
They may have fixed that wording for the 2015 model year, as my sticker says MIRRORS-MAN FOLD DUAL PWR HEATED WITH APPROACH LAMP.

I have not taken delivery yet. My dealer emailed me (on 7/23 without prodding) when the VIN became available and gave me the estimated week of delivery at that time (8/18). Since then, The estimated delivery date has been pushed back to 8/29. It takes a lot of patience throughout this process! What's really helped me wait was the fact that I wanted my next car to have exactly everything I wanted, and I couldn't find any on dealer lots with my colors and options within the surrounding states. So I placed an order, knowing that I will be able to get exactly what I've always wanted, and that makes it worth the long wait. Plus, I love the new wheels on the Titanium, something I would have never gotten on the 2014 models.

The past few months, my longer trips have been about 60 miles away, and I have no problem slowing down and keeping the cruise set to 60 mph on the highway with the A/C on. I average 37 mpg with my 09 Accord (EPA highway rated 30 mpg) doing that. I came back late last night and since the traffic on the highway was light, I shut off the A/C and set the cruise to 50 mph. Arrived home with a 45 mpg average. There may have been a small tail wind to help with that, but I was impressed, as that was the first time I did highway travel with the cruise below 55 for the whole trip. By the way, the interstate minimum speed limit here in Iowa is 40 mph, so I was still legal. ;) I'm hoping to get 50-60 mpg on the highway with the Energi in EV Later mode doing speeds of 50-60 mph.

Awesome! I like your interior & exterior color choices. Can't wait to see it! Edit: What is "ceramic black interior?" Did you get the medium soft ceramic or the charcoal black?

How do I find out what the federal tax credit is for the 2015 Energi? I'm a little nervous because the Ford Build & Price config is only coming up with a $3557 incentive on a lease right now, when previously it was listed at $4007 for last year's model.

I'm going to go without ESP because I'm leasing for 3 years, 45k. If I were buying it, though, I would definitely get ESP.

Once you get used to the SYNC voice commands, it's nice that you can set the interaction and feedback to be at more advanced levels. Saying "interaction mode advanced" provides less audible interaction and more tone prompts. Saying "confirmation prompts off" makes a best guess from the command, but you may still occasionally be asked to confirm settings. You can also do this with media and phone candidate lists.

That makes sense, murphy. I believe that part of ACC is documented as a safety feature. Bill, does your Energi have Adaptive Cruise Control?
-
I don't like the sound of the cruise control having some kind of timer, limiting the usage on long trips. I wonder if this is a part of the Driver Alert feature. I haven't seen it documented anywhere.

They were probably rental cars, or were once rental cars. Here's an example of a rental car window sticker, DRL is listed as a $40 option, only available to Ford Fleet customers. Looking at the fleet preview guide, you can see that DRLs and the engine block heater are fleet order exclusives. Granted, there have been a handful of people who were successful in coaxing their dealer into modifying their vehicle software to enable this feature. But I'm sure that the dealers who are saying they really can't/shouldn't, are correct. It also appears that fleet orders won't ship with configurable DRLs for the 2015 model year. They'll continue to have "always on" DRLs from the factory, with no driver configuration available.

Test Drive question: Poor acceleration on depleted battery?
wazer replied to eric_n_dfw's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
When I test drove a 2013 back in May, I had an appointment for a test drive, so they had the car "ready" for me. They said they had to jump it beforehand because it had been sitting on the lot for so long. When I arrived for my appointment, I hopped in and it turned right on, but I saw no EV miles. They didn't have the HVB charged for me, so I drove it over to their 240V charging station and plugged it in. I sat back down in the drivers seat with the salesman next to me, and started teaching him everything I already knew about the car, and most of it was stuff he didn't know. I spent the next two hours fiddling with the vehicle and talking about leasing/financing options. After it was full, I went on my test drive, leaving the dealer in EV Later on my way home, to see if I could make it to/from my office in EV Now. It was a piece of cake to do, and I was very surprised by how easily I could get to highway speeds in EV Now mode. Two miles of my commute each way are highway, so I do not need gas for such a short distance at that speed. In your case, I agree with murphy in that the HVB was probably very low, which caused the ICE to run to charge the battery AND drive the wheels, which is why you saw reduced power. Those types of situations shouldn't happen very often, if at all, once it has been purchased and no longer sits on the lot for weeks on end. -
Help with a hybrid buying decision...
wazer replied to garymkrieg's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I agree with loading up on the options. Cooled seats and a heated steering wheel are options you'd usually only find on luxury brands, but they're available on the Fusion Titanium. -
Woohoo! Congrats. Looks like you got a good deal. Enjoy your new ride! I've got ~2 more weeks to wait for mine.
-
DRLs are only available for fleet customers for 2013/2014 models, but they're making DRLs a configurable instrument cluster option in all 2015 Fusions.

It should be a very nice upgrade from your Prius! Which trim did you get and what options?
-
WOOOO! My window sticker is finally available! :love_shower: :yahoo: I am keeping my forum signature updated with the details.

I ordered mine on May 28th. I have noticed that dealers in the southwest will be getting their deliveries first, since those were the orders that were scheduled first. Big market out there, and it's closest to the Hermosillo plant.

Is this the Correct Energy Management for my Commute
wazer replied to Lightfoot's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Should EV Now be used to get up to highway speeds and then switch to EV later after the cruise has been set? Or switch to EV Later before the on ramp and use the ICE to get to highway speeds? -
What kind of speeds were you averaging on the interstate?
-
I say windows up and A/C on. It's more efficient at highway speeds, and also keeps you and your HVB cooler as the HVB is cooled with air from the cabin.

Wondering if there is anyone else out there on the forums that has ordered a 2015 Fusion Energi or plans to purchase once they land on dealer lots? My dealer has given me an estimated week of delivery, August 18th. I'm sure there will be others elsewhere that will be delivered sooner, though.
