I get around 100 mpge from late March to September here in WI. The winter drops that in half. Don't expect miracles with electric if you live in the north. I get 8-10 miles per charge when it goes under 10 deg. Drive smart as people mentioned above, gas on the freeway and electric 55 and under, unless you have a small jaunt on a freeway. Driving over 65 mph will hurt you as seen here http://www.mpgforspeed.com/

Has anyone bought a set of winter tires/wheels for the car yet? Looking at getting some Nokian's. Since the back roads are my better option for getting to work, and I no longer have the subaru, it thought getting a set may be a good idea.

I have only had the car 5 days and my commute to work is 16 miles round trip. So far 226 mpge. Currently the car says I have 24 EV miles. Drive to work is 1/2 in town, 1/2 back country roads. Get to work with 18 EV miles and get home with 10-11 EV miles left. It is better than I expected (currently in 70 deg F). Just hope I can do it when the temps get into the negative like last year (-40 F for a week in WI)

I bought a 2014 FFE in Silver. And it is awesome. After 5 days of use, I currently am averaging 226 mpg, thanks to my 16 mile round trip to work. The only gas was going from the dealer to home (who hadn't charged the EV battery) I haven't been so excited to drive my car in a while, and that is tough since I had a WRX before.

Anyone here know of the reliability of the Cmax energi? There is a used one for sale in the neighborhood from a dealer for $19k with 37K miles. I have been planning on getting a fusion, but there are none available used. This helps take a chunk out of the payment saving $10K. Just wondering if there is any experience with it.

So I received at quote today of $33,808 from one dealer, which is just shy of $2000 more than what Ford suggested I could get it for. This is why people get frustrated with Car dealerships...I guess I can wait for the Tesla in a couple years.

Oh, that is too bad. glad I asked because I almost thought about going for it.

The red brick leather is only available on the titanium model. I would really like to see that in person, may push me to the look at a titanium.

I asked 3 dealers in my area for a quote on a SE model with the only option a moonroof. I can do with or without it. Pricing it through the Ford website gave me a cost after rebates of $32,963 or without the moonroof $31,968. Anyone know what these prices might be with X-pricing? I already know Costco is a no-go. Interested to see what the dealers will come back with quotes

Thanks for all the info. Looks like I'll be buying this fall. Waiting to see if any improvements will be in the 2015 model.

I'm a prospective Energi driver and am looking to buy this year or next, but would like to get some information on cold weather driving. I have an 8 mile drive to work (no charging at work) and live in WI. Temps during the winter are generally 20-30 F, but do get much colder. Anyone from a cold climate have numbers on EV driving during the cold weather? I'm really hopeful to make it the 16 miles to work and back on EV alone which makes for 80% of the driving. I've considered 100% electric cars, but can't do it since the occasional trips else where require more range. I also need a car with room with space for car seats. thanks for sharing.
