Thanks, Ashley. I'll PM you. But can you please answer the question below. Others on the forum tried to help me but I am not sure they have the correct technical info. My question is: Does the car provide any engine/motor braking if the car is off and the transmission is in "R"? If the answer is yes, then others' suggestions do not make any sense. This is because the car moved forward when I put the transmission in "R". If the answer is no, then isn't it a design and safety issue? I need to know the fact. It would be greatly appreciated if you can consult the technical folks at Ford and answer my question.

Oh. Yes, it was in Park. I shut down the engine, parked the car, got out the car, found parking was not good enough, and then went back in to start the car trying to go backward. Will there be no engine/motor braking at all if the car is not on and there is a slight incline?
-
No. It was in R. Were they user errors or car errors?

My car does have the push start button. I am not 100% sure how I started the car the first time. But I am sure that I did put my foot on the brake in the subsequent effort. The car would not move. I tried 3 times in total before calling Ford Roadside Services.

Where is the trunk release button?

I drove to work this morning and parked my brand new FFE Titanium (< 500 miles) in company's parking garage. I got out the car and found my parking was not straight. So I went in the car, started it, put it in reverse, and pressed the accelerator pedal. Instead of going backward, the car moved forward slowly and hit a metal fence and incurred some minor scratches. I stopped the car and tried again. The car wouldn't move at all. So I called Ford Roadside Services. 2 hours later, the truck showed up. The driver helped me push the car backward for about 5 feet. He then started the car and I could drive okay. So I took it to the dealer. They couldn't reproduce it. I asked the service writer to write me a ticket showing I went in but they couldn't reproduce my claim. The service writer told me that Ford policy is that they don't give me anything unless they can reproduce my claim. What do you guys think? Anyone had this problem before?

Can I lower the turn signal clicking sound level? My wife thinks the clicking sound from the turn signal is too loud. So I hope that its volume can be lowered.

I want to be able to use AC in the day time when it is hot. But I don't want to use battery for heat in the morning when it is chilly out. So I plan to do the following. Please comment if it will work as desired. Set the temperature at 70 degrees and use "Auto" for the climate. In the morning, as soon as I turn on the car, I set it on "EV later" mode. This should get the ICE running. Then after 2 miles, I change it from "EV later" mode to "Auto" mode. My commute is 17 miles each way. The heat from the coolant should last the whole trip. So the question is as follows. When I use "EV later" mode, will the car use battery to heat up the car? Thanks.

Thanks for all the help. I went ahead and traded in my 2008 Evo and leased a silver FFE Titanium. I can always buy the car at the end of the lease. My Mitsu Evo is the most reliable car I have owned in the 10+ new cars I have purchased, including my wife's Lexus. Hopefully, this FFE won't be too disappointing.

I traded in my EVO and leased a silver FFE Titanium finally. This marked the end of my muscle/high-performance car era and the start of green car era! The new car is quite comfortable. I have two questions and would appreciate some comments. 1. What is the small white ring around my current location on the Navigation screen? It is not the range ring and I turned off that setting already. This small white ring blinks and is quite annoying. How do I turn it off? 2. How do I turn off the interior heating function to improve EV range? It is not cold here in the SF Bay area. I do it by lowering the temperature and turning off the AC. Is there an easier way? Thanks! David

Why don't you record the sound and so we can hear it as well?

Thanks all! The dealer wants to sell me a "wear care" package for $985. Is this something you would consider?

How do you guys decide between buying vs. leasing a 2014 FFE? If I lease, I plan to keep it for 3 years and 12K miles per year. I have bought 10+ new cars in the past. But it may be attractive to lease a Fusion Energi Titanium. I understand the basic terms in leasing. However, it is unclear to me what my liability will be when I return the car after the lease expires. Do I need to pay additional fees for minor scratches, stone chips, etc? It seems that I may be subject to dealer's scrutiny at that time. How do you guys handle such issue? Thanks.

I am thinking to lease a Fusion Energi Titanium for 3 years and 36,000 miles. I went to the Ford Store in Morgan Hill, CA, and they told me the Ford Leasing Incentives of $4,007 is just passing the Federal credit to the consumer. In other words, there is really no Ford incentives. Is this correct? Should I wait after March and see if there are better deals coming out?

Test Drove a Fusion Energi Titanium Today, and....
vett93 replied to vett93's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
As someone pointed out, it is all relative. It really depends on what cars you had before. If you don't feel any bouncing, more power to you. -
I am in the SF Bay area and want to get a car that I can drive on HOV lane. So I test drove a Ford Fusion Energi Titanium today. My first impression is that the car bounces up and down way too much. It is even worse than my wife's Lexus. I have owned high performance cars in the last 25 years. I understand these hybrid plug-in cars don't have the same horse power, which is okay. But the Energi's suspension is simply too soft for me. Has anyone modified the suspension?

Thanks. Where are these fuses located?

Yes, I am paranoid. Can someone explain the safety design that keeps this car safe? It seems that the battery is near the gas tank. A short in the electric circuit can cause the battery over heat. A nearby gas tank does not help either. Thanks.
