  1. I have a 2014 Fusion Energi. A couple of months ago I started to hear a noise when coasting or braking. It was a very quiet friction sound. I took it into the dealership and had a mechanic ride with me. My thought had been that it was the regenerative braking system, but the mechanic immediately said it was the transmission. They kept it a couple of days before they let me know that Ford had told them not to try to fix it, but to sent the whole transmission to them and they sent a new one which was installed in my car. It took a couple of weeks, but I now have a new transmission in a four year old car at no cost.
  2. Does anyone get the feeling like you just found out your zipper is down?
  3. 1) Does it matter if I go away for a length of time (1 week to 1 month) and leave my FFE plugged in? 2) I plugged in my FFE and came out the next day to find it charging. I wondered if there would be a drain on the battery while parked that would then cause it to need to do a quick charge every so often, and I just chanced to find it at that moment. Thanks!
  4. Also a Southern CA taxpayer, I don't have a big problem with you plugging in. One car, one outlet, not a problem. Once plug-ins get popular enough, maybe the county will install charging stations that charge and charge (cars and money).
  5. I generally agree with you about the space, and would have preferred an enclosed area as well. I can't help you, except to say it is not the best design.
  6. Griff, thanks for the link. I think I will print it out for my mechanic for his edification. Fusion Energi, I am trying to figure out how to upload the picture. Until I do, there are two pieces of the transmission bolted together. That is where the seeping is occuring. Sorry I can't be more specific. My FFE is a 2014 that I bought in January this year.
  7. I just got my $850 today. I purchased my FFE in January.
  8. I took my 2014 FFE to our local mechanic for an oil change at 5200 miles. (My husband believes in taking the car in every six months alternating between our mechanic and the Ford dealership, even though I was told not to bring it in until 7500 miles. That isn't the issue.) Our mechanic said we should take it to the dealership because he could see where the transmission was "seeping" between two parts bolted together. I did take it in, with a picture taken by the mechanic, and they immediately booked it to be checked out. A week and a day later I had my FFE back (having suffered major withdrawl symptoms for a week!). I guess my question is, has anyone else encountered this problem? Is it a common problem in this model? I wondered only because the service advisor was so quick to say they would get it to the transmission department quickly and he knew it would take about a week because they would probably need to order parts in.
  9. I bought my FFE in January. I have 4200 miles on it. I just got an email from my salesman who reminded me I can get a free oil change from the dealership at 7500 miles. What do you think? Is there any harm in getting it?

  11. I know what you mean. It is not an issue of how many actual e-miles I drive which is affected by how I drive or climate control usage.The question is about what the little battery on the control panel says when I start it up after an overnight charge. Sometimes I start the car and it shows 22 miles and another time it shows 24, 25 or 26 miles. I have wondered if it has to do with how many miles I had left in the battery when I turned it off the night before, or how long from the time it stopped charging until I got in, as if it lost some "miles of battery" after it charged, or if the longer it is plugged in it continues to trickle charge raising the miles. I don't have an answer; I was wondering the same thing myself.
  12. To answer the original questions: 1. 10 - I come home to my husband and say, "The more I drive it, the more I like it!" 2. 2002 PT Cruiser 3. Over and over again! I love being in EV mode. I love passing the gas stations again and again and again, especially when the gas prices go up and up. I love that almost everyone I show it to says, "...and it's got great looks/style/body." I love the extras that make everything easier: back up camera, adaptive cruise control, Sync (I guess I have too low expectations for the Sync), Driver Assist package, etc.
  13. I've scrolled through the forum and couldn't find this topic. First, I picked up my new Fusion Energi today!!! [big smile] Came home and plugged it in to household 120v plug. Then wanted to take dear husband for a drive, but it is only partially charged. He, remembering the early days of chargeable batteries, said not to interrupt the charge for fear that it would reduce the capacity of the battery. I, thinking that newer batteries don't have that issue and that public charging stations would be nearly impossible to use, said I didn't think it would be a problem. So the beautiful new car sits in the garage until tomorrow. Please help!
  14. I just went to the website and this NOTE was posted: UPDATE (December 11, 2013): The CEC Program charger allocation is now complete. We are NO longer accepting applications.
