  1. Wanted to provide an update. Even though I repeatedly had my battery tested and showing as good. It needed replaced. It makes me wonder about the battery test in general, because it was still under warranty at the start but out of warranty when I finally replaced. O'Reilly's was doing the battery test, where I purchased my last since I couldn't get to Ford for a Motorcraft one at the time. I finally just decided I had enough. Knowing it would cost me $$$ for Ford to look at it, and trying the other steps, I just decided to get a new battery and see what happened. Well, everything was fixed and has been running great for a while with the new battery. So it was a bad battery in the end, sigh. A friend also has an Energi and I just spoke with them, I did not know but they were having all the same issues as us and needed to get a new battery too. If you have exhausted your troubleshooting and your battery reports as good but it has been a couple years, just get a new battery and save yourself the trouble 🙂
  2. Not a new issue at all, as many of you are aware. The same old get to the car and it's dead and needs jumped. System off to save power, blah blah. For years! This was my car, and I just dealt with it. Always had a li-ion battery handy for a jump. Well it is now my wife's car since she has a much longer commute than me and it made sense from a mpg perspective. This is not going to fly for her, hah. So just trying to work on that happy life thing by making her happy ? Anyone that is intimately familiar with this issue please let me know what your long term resolution was. I don't need the usual generic, change your battery, disconnect your USB cables and 3rd party junk, or check your alternator stuff. I need the people that have had this happen and researched this darn issue for countless hours like me. I want to take it back to Ford, who as many of you have experienced, has had a bad track record of being able to resolve this issue. But, since it is almost 5 years later and there are more EVs out there and more certified EV techs at Ford, I'm hoping for better luck. I'm hoping if I go in there more prepared with valid resolutions I'll have a better chance to get this finally fixed. Here is what I have come up with as the most likely causes... - Battery needs married to the car... there is perhaps a process to match the battery up when replaced? (I find this one hard to believe since I had the issue with the stock battery and with new batteries I replaced myself.) - Radio is not turning off properly and draining the battery - Malfunctioning keypad causing drain, remove fuse to check if that is the case - TSBs that address issue (no luck first time, but hoping years later there may be some that apply, I've seen a few mentioned) If anyone is able to offer up their story and resolution it would be much appreciated. Thank you!
