  1. Ford's buyback program only pays a bit above trade in value for the car. I inquired yesterday. In my area, the retail pricing (KBB) is $2,000 more. The trouble is, the car is essentially worthless to Ford dealers on a trade with the open recall ,so wiith Ford coming up short on the buyback offer, we are still stuck. They don't pay sales tax either on the buy back. That's someting that we have to request from the state who will tell you to pound sand or wait 3 years for them to figure it out.
  2. Does anyone have any updates? My local Ford dealer has none and could care less. I can't sell this car, as it has little resale value with the open recall.
  3. Send your compaint to NHTSB, like many of us have done. Lemon law attorney won't take the case as it's out of the 3/36 warranty.
  4. My dealer says that Ford is in such bad shape financially because of all of the EV production costs, they are scrutinizing every warranty repair now more than ever. He said they would only pay for Kelly tires on a warrantied repair that necessitated tire replacement on a new F150, not the Michelins it came with. He doesn't think this will end well for us.
  5. Local Long Island Ford dealer confirms a late 2024 repair date. He won't take it in on trade until then so the car is worth much less.
  6. I will check with my local dealer here in NY to see if the concur. That's very disappointing to hear.
  7. My selling dealer said it will likely take many months to replace 15,000 batteries, not to mention train the service departments on how to remove and replace this huge battery safely and correctly. This dealership has never done one. If we can't use the EV only portion of this car, Ford should offer compensation. I too am using a lot more gas now.
  8. My Ford dealer is clueless and (1) has no idea of the recall and (2) is not aware of the remedy (above). He said Ford told him not to expect a remedy to this until late November but now I see the above. I will call another dealer tomorrow. Thanks for posting this Ryan.
  9. I spoke with a lemon law attorney. He agrees that a case can be made as you indicated and that we should all reach out to Ford for consideration. While they will likely tell us to pound sand, as a group we need to stay on them and have a presence on social media. We should also reach out (politely) to our Ford dealers for assistance (have them call territory managers, etc). He thinks we are very much on the back burner with Ford as only 15,000 cars are affected.
  10. Lemon law attorney said the car is too old for a good LL case. Class action attorney? They are the only ones that make out well in these C/A law suits. The affected consumers see little. I have made a formal complaint to NHTSA.
  11. The CEL in my 2019 FFE went on (because of this recall) a few weeks ago and then went off after a few days. Because it's in the stored memory, my car won't pass NYS inspection (I tried a few shops including the dealer). I have received 2 tickets from police already (my inspection tag expired) and I have to bring the recall notice with a report, etc to the courthouse so they can waive the ticket...I hope...(they are $125 each). Ford knows and told me to pound sand. No loaner car, no buyback offer and my dealer was told not to expect a repair until December 2023. If cars are going on fire while driving, I'm shocked that Ford isn't getting us out of these cars at least temporarily. My thinking is that because there are only 15,000 cars affected, they really don't care about us.
