New Energi - No range displayed on battery icon?
Mr. Fusion replied to expresspotato's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I still see those rings in the Nav screen, but they never made sense to me. I always have so much more range than what they say, although it only shows up when I'm really low, but I still have more than a few hundred feet, which is what the rings indicate (I think) -

New Energi - No range displayed on battery icon?
Mr. Fusion replied to expresspotato's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I don't blame you for not being happy. I slight workaround is to put the miles left to empty display in the "My view", but now that hack is pissing me off because I used to have the temp gauge there and I need that temp gauge back now that it's getting cold again. Taking functionality away from one of the most advanced cars on the road is just stupid. -

It does still show the percent in the center stack hybrid screen, but still a % is useless. It's the miles left on the battery that I miss... -

I had a nagging issue with my 2013 Energi around the electric heater and go times, and they just said out of the blue "Ford is going to buy your car back". This was after MANY visits to the dealership. I live in Ohio. I replaced it with a 2016 identical Energi. I could have got any car of same MSRP or lower, which included a Mustang convertible or a Loaded up Explorer. Even with gas going from $4 to $2.50, I still went with the Energi. As much as you want to swear Ford up and down, I was impressed on how they ultimately took care of me. It was frustrating that the dealers don't know how this new tech works, but at the end of the day, Ford did the right thing for me and for that I value them as a top tier Auto Maker.

New Energi - No range displayed on battery icon?
Mr. Fusion replied to expresspotato's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I'm late to this topic, but I got my 2016 Energi as a buy back for my 2013 Fusion Energi. I love the center stack updates and the new wheels, but the dumbing down of the displays really sucks. Was happy to find this thread, but sad that there wasn't a setting I was just missing for the battery miles display. -

New Energi owner with some questions
Mr. Fusion replied to saleen436's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
No clue, but I have noticed some small differences, which I'm sure have been talked about here already... - No miles left of the battery display. I really miss this one. No clue why they'd take that away - They took away the 2 simple views, leaving Engage, Empower and My view, which is fine. - I also don't like how the spinning arrows on the battery now come on for ALL power put back in the battery. Before, the up arrow would come on, and the arrows would only come on when braking. - I also like the total range miles now on the right side near the compass. - I also like the new wheels that came out in 2015 I think. -

Well, I got a new 2016 FFE and it is NOT blowing on me like the 2013 did, after the recent dealer fix. I'm SO happy. And I LOVE the new IP controls: -

New Energi owner with some questions

But then turn on the climate control for about 5 seconds and turn it off. All air is cut off, which to me is the definition of "Off" So I don't understand how this can be normal when turning it on/off cuts the air off. -

#3 - THIS IS THE MOST ANNOYING THING... When the HVAC system is off, NOTHING should come through the vents. My 2013 NEVER did this until a recent trip to the dealership, so the latest update must have done this. I took it back and they said this is normal. In the winter, I use GO times to heat the car up, then don't use any heat for my trip. Now cold air comes in. If you turn on the climate control, let it run for 5 seconds, then turn it off, it won't let air in. -
The seats start moving once you unlock your door with a handle grab. I'm actually amazed at how good it works. If you have your key with you and you grab the driver door, it will go to that key's setting regardless if the passenger has a key or not. It's really good an knowing where that key physically is at. If you leave it in the cup holder, it won't let you lock the doors with a handle touch either.

Be worried when dealer "Reprograms" your computer
Mr. Fusion replied to Mr. Fusion's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
It's funny you mention low psi... I always set my hybrid tires to the max psi, but my passenger rear tire also has a slow leak. Dealer couldn't find the leak. It actually kicked on a low psi warning during this zero degree run. I literally couldn't add air because the valve was frozen. I used a heat gun to un-freeze it. Then moisture spritzed out of the valve. But since mine was on the rear, I can't see how that would have ruined my rack. -

I guess I never followed up on this... After my reprogram, the power steering failed again. This time they replaced the rack. No problems since. -
The first dealer I took it to said "I have a 2012 Edge, and only the unlock button works the memory." And I said "I have a 2011 Explorer and both do it fine." Convincing them it was a problem was half the battle. The month did contain 2 holidays and some really cold days that stopped shipments. But they literally put in a module, and had "Many things stop working". They thought they had a bad module, and ordered another one. When it did the same thing, Ford realized they had a typo in the catalog for the part number. I'm just happy they didn't give up on fixing it. It was almost like a staring contest. I wasn't going to say "Just give me my car back"
-
After 33 days at the dealer, many computer module swaps, and a "Ford says it's working as designed", I finally have my memory seats adjusting to my door handle grab entry on my 2013 Titanium Energi. Pressing the unlock button always set the seat memory, but never a passive door handle grab entry. I took my 2013 Titanium Energi along with the page of the owners manual that says BOTH entry types will set the memory seats and mirrors into the dealer. After confirming that another Energi on the lot DID set the memory seats with a door grab, they took my car in. They had my car from December 12th to January 15th. Replaced a few computer modules, had regional service reps involved and couldn't fix it. I got a call on 1/15 saying "Car is working as designed. The 2013 don't set memory with a handle grab, only the 2014, even though all 3 owners manual prints has this feature in there". The car they proved it worked on the lot was a 2014. "But we'll keep asking the regional rep about it" Very disappointed, I took the car back. The following Monday I get a call saying the regional rep wanted to put a few lines of code in there as an experiment. I took the car in, and now everything works. Door handle grab now sets the memory seats and mirrors. He said literally this fix will create a TSB for others to use. Called me a Hero to others having this problem. I don't consider myself a hero, just a person trying to not jam my knees on the steering wheel after my wife used the car, lol. So if your Fusion Titanium door handle grab isn't activating the memory seats, there should now (Or soon) be a TSB out there. ** Credit to Ford... They gave me a 5 year, 75,000 mile Extended Premium warranty because my power steering went out twice before this problem. Out of the blue. Easily a $800 warranty. THEN, the dealer applied for and received authority to refund 1 month car payment and Sirius subscription because they had the car so long. All while having a nice 2013 Focus as a free loaner during a salty winter month.

None. My Energi doesn't have an electric heater. It has an electric element that heats up the coolant, just like an ICE would. The electric Focus has an electric heater, but that's not one of my 4.
