  1. Hi, I've a 2013 Fusion. I love the car, but, being 6'4", I find that the driver's bucket is mounted too close to the center console. When I get into the car, I have to wriggle on over to the right of the seat to be comfortable, my right leg hitting up against the left side of the console. I am toying with the idea of moving the seat an inch or two over toward the left. I'd need to drill 4 new bolt holes, of course. Does anyone here know if the stock bolts are secured underneath the car by big washers and nuts? I imagine that they are. There's a tray covering that area, under the car, to help with aerodynamics. Guess I'd have to remove that? Probably answering my own questions (?!), but just wondering if anyone has any experience with this sort of modification. Thanks!!
  2. Buy a set of plastic panel removal tools. Carefully try inserting the appropriate-looking blade into one of the long gaps in the console and simply, carefully, try to lift the panel up. It should snap off. Then, go to the next gap that looks as though it'll open up with some gentle prying. Common sense stuff. You can buy a panel removal kit at AutoZone, HarborFreight, etc, for about $8.00.
