Highest miles showing after full recharge
frbill replied to JesseDiaz's topic in Batteries & Charging
I try to keep somewhere between 30 and 45mph. I also have a 55mph 3 mile stretch in my daily commute.Other than that I Go slow and steady, -
When I use the remote to lock the car the trunk is locked. Have you done it that way or have you locked the car using the internal button?

My Ford Mobile App feature Request
frbill replied to Dag's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I think both of those ideas would be a wonderful addition. -
Murphy, thank you so much for sharing your info. I hope someday to get a similar rig, just have to save up to get something similar installed.

No Prob, your are most welcome!

Welcome to the Forum and the Energi!. I have always tried to drive efficient vehicles, but I lust after a supercharged Mustang racer. I get your need for speed. I have about a 26 mile commute and have been able to charge at both ends. I love the nearly unlimited EV range in that application. Again welcome to the Forum and enjoy the Energi.\ Peace, Father Bill

I used the 120V charger for the first week and it took 4-7 hours to charge the battery each time. I found that with the shorter trips I sometimes take that the L1 charger too long to keep it in EV mode. I purchased a Clipper Creek LC25P charger and had a local installer put in the circuit ASAP. The 120V works fine, but I really am trying to keep the car in EV mode, so for me the L2 Charger is very useful. Good luck and enjoy the Car! Peace, Fr. Bill

Yep, $550 worth of too low. I get the need for the aerodynamics of the front end. I just need to adjust my driving habits for the new reality. I was really bummed out when I had the first (and so far only) little "accident". I still love the car. Peace, Fr. Bill

Thanks for the info Murphy. I guess if you get delayed the Car will keep at temp until you disconnect the charger. I will pay a little more attention to the noise tomorrow and see if it sounds the same. Peace, Fr. Bill

VOTE - Pictures CA HOV Sticker Placement
frbill replied to jgcec@yahoo.com's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I don't live in CA and have no need for HOV Sticker but I can't stand putting any adhesive based product on my car. I will buy sheets of flexible magnetic material that I can then shape in the form of whatever sticker I want to put on. Then it is just a matter of finding some metal to stick it to. Not sure if that helps but that is probably what I would do. Peace, Father Bill -
Navigation -- Car's location not accurate
frbill replied to mikenmar's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
My nav has been spot on so far, I too heard of problems with the C-Max nav. Mine was built on May of 13 and works great now. Peace, Father Bill -
Well my first use of Go Times worked. It didn't shut off though at the set time. I have a go time of 7:55 and when I went out it was still working. I had to manually disengage the charger before it stopped. Is the Go Time when I am supposed to go, or is it when it starts? Also, I did not care much for the racket that came out from under the hood. It didn't sound good, like the motor was struggling, that is the best description I can give. Any feedback on that would be appreciated as well. Peace, Fr. Bill

VOTE - Pictures CA HOV Sticker Placement
frbill replied to jgcec@yahoo.com's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
1st I am sorry that you all in CA have to use the stickers to get access to HOV. I am glad you have the access to the HOV lanes. The placement that seems least ugly is #2. Good luck! Peace, Fr. Bill -
I just got my 240V station installed today. I set up go times and they have synced with the car. Now all I need to see if it works tomorrow AM

Is there a way to find out how much charge (in kwh) we have on a full charge. All I seen in MFM is a percentage of charge given. Just curious if I missed some setting on MFM. Thanks, Fr. Bill

Hi Russael, Yes I am Stig, What is your car's name? Unfortunately it was a little more than a bumper scratch. I got an estimate for a repair and it is like $550 ARGH :rant2: . I really need to pay a little more attention when I park. I suspect I will be paranoid from here on forward. Peace, Father Bill

I too have seen a dip when temps went into the 50's. I have yet to turn on my heater but I have needed defrost a couple of times. This really seemed to suck miles out of the HVB. I have been investigating with other members of the forum ways to defrost without using defrost. My average miles have dropped from the low 30's to the high 20's (26-28). It will be interesting to see if I can keep up my EV ratio (98%) with the onset of winter.

I am running into the same problem defogging my windshield. I put on the Defrost and lowered the fan to 1 and I lost 7 miles of EV range. I will try the face and floor vent the next time I need to. Opening the windows wouldn't work because it was raining heavy last night. I hope one of the above mentioned strategies work because I would like to go all EV unless I have to go more than 30 Miles from my home. Because of the 7+ mile reduction last night I had to use (gasp) the hybrid mode for the first time in a week. ;) Thanks for the hints, tips and strategies all. Peace, Father Bill

Yeah, I know that I can set Go Times now but the 110V charger can't provide enough juice to sustain that without using some HVB power. I am trying to get max range on EV. When I get the 240V installed I will then experiment with Go Times. Pax. Father Bill

When I first got my Car ( a week ago) I used auto mode. I was still getting used to how the car drove in comparison to my old C-Max. I have now started using EV now when in town. I am able to get almost 30 miles + of EV range. I have quite a number of stops that I have to go through. I am lucky enough that I can charge at work so I almost never go below 1/2 a tank of Plug-in EV Battery. The one day a week when I have to go on the freeway I also use EV Later to safe the Plug-in Battery for use on surface streets. Using the techniques used by "hypermilers" will give you great result. Slow acceleration( I never accelerate over 2.5 bars on the power meter) Long Slow Breaking ( Gives the car back range in Regen Miles) and using the technique called Pulse and Glide. All this will help you increase your average EV distance. Most of all enjoy your car it is just plain fun to drive. If you want to play the mileage game get into it slow. For me this is an old game being played in a new arena and I am having a great time. Peace, Fr. Bill

Um, for those of us who do not know where the business card holder, where might I find it?

Here is a method or reprogramming the auto up when it forgets. I had this happen a lot with my C-Max, so I bookmarked this site. I hope this helps. Father Bill

Highest miles showing after full recharge
frbill replied to JesseDiaz's topic in Batteries & Charging
I agree whole heartedly! Well said Murphy. I have been driving conventional hybrids for a few years now and have considerable skills in "hypermiling" that allowed me to get On a charge yesterday. I got about 30 miles with the charge so not too shabby of an educated guess on the Energi's Charge Gauge. Father Bill -
I am getting a 240v Charging station so I can precondition my car for those cold mornings we have coming up. I might even leave it on the charger at work so I can precondition there. Otherwise I suspect I will do without except for the heated seats, my coat and gloves. I love driving into work on a single charge. Father Bill
