  1. This might be a little late given that we are in the winter months but I thought that this might be a fun and informative little competition. Take a picture of your best and post it here. After a few submissions we will post a top 10 (just like MFM). You can post from the Left Multi Function Dispaly or even MFM. 28.3 EV Miles Driven 4.5 Regen Miles 5.5 kWh used Let the game begin :shift:
  2. At least for now, I am playing the mileage game. I get a real kick out of keeping the Car in EV mode for most (95% or better) of my travels. In my C-Max I regularly went without heat or AC to maximize the MPG. I now precondition my car and keep the heat off. I can L2 charge at both home and work so I am toasty for all but the last couple of miles. I will take things to an extreme to get through my day All EV. Just my 2 cents. Peace, Father Bill
  3. It is my understanding that this fellow had been told that he was not to be on School property at all. He was using the School's Tennis Courts without permission and charging his car at the same time. I suspect that the failure to leave after being informed that he was trespassing has as much, or more, to do with the arrest as the using of an outlet.
  4. Murphy what about a 100 foot 12 guage 3 wire rated at 15 Amps? It is about half the price. Or should I go for the 10 gauge?
  5. I have had mine for almost 2 months and have thankfully had no difficulties. This car has been very reliable in all respects since I picked it up. Now the C-Max I replaced had a few issues, the worst being a nagging 12 volt battery problem that caused me to replace the C-Max. I am sure that things will crop up in the future but with 2502 miles on the car (on the first tank of Gas  ) so far so great!
  6. I actually went ahead and did the install about a month ago. I was able to find the $ to do it sooner so that I can pursue the tax credit.
  7. We'll I am hunting for a compact spare for Stig. I have very little ability when it comes automotive stuff. That is why I have auto services through my Ins. Company. My dealership is checking local salvage yards to see if they can find a compatible wheel. Even if I have to keep it in the back seat it will be well worth it for my peace of mind. More info when I get it. Peace, Fr. Bill
  8. My Folks have the Weather Tech and I never liked how the looked or felt. I just installed the Husky version and they went in easily, if not perfectly conforming to the contours of the car (Front Passenger side to be specific). I wondered what driving with them would be like and I found that the Husky liners are as comfortable and stable as the carpet. Just my 2 cents FWIW.
  9. The A4 card is the newest available for the Ford Navigation System. I have not heard of any updates available at this time but I am sure that they will have something in the next few months. Peace, Father Bill
  10. Um the picture does not seem to exist as of noon CDT
  11. 1. 9.8 - 10 (didn't care for the ding I got on the low front bumper, but that may have been operator error hence the variabe rating) 2. Ford C-Max SEL ( Had a defective 12 volt system otherwise would still be driving it) 3.You betcha, I too have been waiting for the PHEV from Ford since the advent of the Volt. The failure of my C-Max and the rebates and tax credit of the Fusion made it possible for me to move on it sooner than I would have otherwise been able purchase. I have been able to drive 1900+ miles and have not yet used the full tank my dealer gave at delivery. I love driving EV almost everywhere and Hybrid when needed. As battery tech continues to improve I look to the day when Ford offers a 40+ mile PHEV but until then I am very pleased with the FFE.
  12. I see many of us busy on the forums this AM, which I suspect is due the holiday. I wish all here a Happy Thanksgiving! I am incredibly blessed in my life with Family, Friends and a Vocation that allows me to serve. I hope all here have similar blessings. Peace, Father Bill
  13. It runs very slow for me but eventually it does what its supposed to do.
  14. I have to imagine there is quite a bit of fault tolerance built into the system. If the charge port was really wet, wouldn't a charge fault result. Just thinking that with so much going into the EV systems somebody had to think that through.
  15. Shaggy Thanks for the Link, I just ordered them :happy feet: . Now here is hoping they come in before the first snow.
  16. Can't say that I have had any experience with the right screen problems that you have had. But in regards to the range, the car will calculate expected mileage based on driving history. If you drive the car hard and drain the HVB quickly it will give you fewer miles at the next charge. If you manage a drive that gently uses the HVB and is very economical then you will see an increase in the expected miles at your next charge. You will get to know this better as you drive the car. One other note, with the onset of winter the HVB will be less effective due to the cold. Enjoy the vehicle and check out the info on this site for improving mileage improvement. Peace, Father Bill
  17. No the battery is the battery. There is software that limits 1.1kwh for hybrid use after the EV range goes to zero. If you have a long enough regen (going down a mountain) it should charge the battery above the EV threshold as there is room for the energy. At least that is my understanding of it.
  18. I had an CC LCS-25P installed about 3 weeks ago. I had it installed with a 14-30 plug on a 30 amp breaker. This will give me more than enough juice for the next few years. I suspect I will be moved before I would need a bigger service so this works for me. Peace, Father Bill
  19. If you figure that out let me know. I get good scores except when I get a quick red.
  20. I am not sure this is germaine to this thread but I thought I woud jump in with some reasons ( as I understand them) for the CA rates. CA hyper-regulates their utilities and demands that they not use certain energy sources (e.g.Coal). New plants are almost impossible to create. Thus supply is fixed in the Golden State while demand is skyrocketing. As I understand it they are having to pull power in from all over the Southwest to meet demand, thus they have enormous infrastructure costs to make supply meet demand. Basic economics then would require an increased cost. .30kWh is unbelievable for me in IL. I checked my rates and for summer it was .4kWh anytime . Here we have a large legacy of Coal plants which supply almost 48% of our electricity. I expect the expense to go up as those legacy plants go offline because of increased regulation or conversion to clean Coal technology or Natural Gas. I am grateful to live in Southern IL where the rates for now are extremely advantageous for EV driving. I am making decisions to drive almost exclusively EV and am getting between 20 Miles (on really cold days with less advantageous routes) and 29 miles (on warmer days on the good route). Peace, Father Bill
  21. I'm gonna catch you yet on MFM stats, my average is still around 27, and I can ironman my way without climate (for now ;)). I am Stig on MFM.
