Does anybody have a car cover for their Fusion Energi that accommodates the charging port?
-
I have a 2015 Fusion Energi. My quest is to know what fuel mileage I'm getting when the engine is running and also determine how many miles I drove using the engine, with the battery helping of course. Here are the numbers when I filled up yesterday putting in 12.1 gallons: Trip 1 2689.3 mi 448.0EV 2391. MPG 541 kWh We know that the numbers go back to zero when you reach 999. We know that 448 EV is not correct because that would mean that I got over 180 mpg when the engine was running, ie (2689-448)/12. If we add 1000 to the EV number making it 1448 it yields an average over 100 MPG, ie (2689-1448)/12, again probably not accurate. So let's add another 1000 to the EV giving me 2448. That gives an average about 20 MPG when the engine is running. Using that information 12 gallons x 20MPG gives me the fact that the engine was running for about 240 miles. Am I thinking about this correctly? The last scenario where I used 2448 EV miles yields a miles / kW of 4.5 and with a 7+kW battery it means that I averaged 31 miles per full discharge, which sounds high to me. What am I doing wrong? Just had my 2015 done in Las Vegas for $58.00 at a Ford dealer. Gary

Mine were all gone this morning. I have one set for every day of the week. Gary

We have the cooled seat option. The only part that gets cool is the seat bottom, is the seat back supposed to get cool also? Gary

OK, the light just went off. You are saying that some of the EV miles are the result of the ice running and therefore should be added back to the number you get by subtracting the EV miles from the actual miles. Thanks for the help! Gary

So I guess I'm confused. If I wanted to calculate my MPG for the ICE, ie like the car were a regular hybrid not an Energi, I assume that I would subtract the 3515.0 EV miles from the total 3789.8 miles and divide by the gallons used. That would put me at 23.5 MPG based on adding 11.671 gallons when I filled up. That seems a bit low. Gary

Just filled up my 2015 Fusion Energi for the third time. I use Trip 1 to record the statistics for each tank. Here what I saw this time: 3789.8 miles 346.2 MPG 515.0 EV 788 kWh I put 11.671 gallons in at the time of this fill. Now I know the EV and the kWh do not show the thousands digit, so I know that 515.0 EV is an incomplete number. So how to I deduce the correct number? I can put a 3 in front making it 3515 EV but if you then calculate the actual MPG while on gas it comes to 23 MPG and that seems very low. If I put a 2 in front to make it 2515 EV it comes to 109 MPG while on gas and seems impossible. I seem to be averaging 3-4.5 miles per kWh which using the 788 kWh that would calculate the EV to be between 2364 and 3546 EV miles. What am I missing, how do I calculate the number of EV and non-EV miles from this data? Gary

Spare Tire search (I know another post) possible find

How thick is the assembly, ie how much clearance would you need on the top shelf? Gary -

Will it happen to fit on the top shelf if you take the air out? Gary -
ICE coming on... Why?

Doug, I'm not sure that's true. There are two motors in there, one is used for propulsion and the other is used for regen and it acts as the starter for the ICE. I'm not disagreeing with your statement about regen and acceleration just clarifying how the system is engineered. Gary -
Speaking of battery temperature on the opposite end of the thermometer. Yesterday, in Las Vegas, my car outside temperature gauge was reading 103. The car had been outside sitting in the sun for an hour or so. What I noticed during my drive home, in EV mode, was that the blue threshold box on the Empower screen was much smaller. I actually had the engine come on twice during my usual acceleration pace. That pace has never caused in the engine to be engaged in the past. Gary

Expecting a $4K Federal Rebate on Your FFE? Sorry!

If I read what you are saying correctly in your initial post, I believe you are incorrect. The $4000 "rebate" is there for the taking if your total tax amount due is over $4000, BEFORE withholding and every other deduction. The fact that you are getting a refund does not enter the picture. It is what did you owe in taxes before all deductions and withholding are taken. Gary -
I guess I'm not part of we, it works great for me. What is not working for you? Gary

So at what high temperature do we have to start to worry. I usually spend part of the summer in Las Vegas. Gary
