My 2013 Energi had to get the 12volt battery replaced at 17miles. I had a portable battery jumper but left it in the trunk and there is no way to open the trunk unless you fold the backseat down and if you can fit your arm through the small hole and pull the cord to manually pop the trunk from the inside. Very difficult to do if not impossible. You cant even unlock the other doors manually unless you open them from the inside.

I have this same problem. There fix on the report was "Pushed trim back into place". So of course it popped out the next day I just added superglue myself and was done with it.

What was the verdict on the insurance? Was it totaled or they going to fix it? If they are fixing it, make sure you get a diminished value claim.

Mine had 17miles on it and had some problems at first and it was determined the 12volt battery needed to be replaced. We have young kids as well, we noticed the stock charger wasn't charging fast enough for our needs as we sometimes go out multiple times on the weekends.

Yes, it is recording non stop but not saving it until an "event" happens. You can change the settings, you can do 15 seconds prior to the event and 45 seconds after the event or have it record non stop and save the full video file for playback.

I currently use a Smarty BX1000 (amazon) I also use a Flash Air WiFi sd card with it. (Amazon) I currently have the BX1000 setup to only record when it detects excessive force it will capture 15 seconds prior and 15 seconds after the excessive force and save the video to the WiFi sd card. I then setup my phone to automatically check the WiFi card and download any new files to the phone and then off to dropbox using Tasker (app). I always hated having to take the sd cards out of these things to see the videos. This is an excellent deal!.. I did the same but my dealer only had an SE with Moonroof & rear sensor. I do wish I had adaptive cruise control tho

I forgot about the auto-dimming feature, I would pass on the Windex.

I got a Leviton EVB32-M5L from amazon on a warehouse deal for $560. This charger can output more power then the car can accept. I would suggest waiting/looking for deals to come along.

I agree, The fuel release button should be next to the trunk release button. I would prefer the EV button on a steering wheel control. Would be nice if there was a sensor for the charging port if it is open.

I had to turn it off, it always frustrates me when I have to brake suddenly...

From my personal experience, when the car switches to hybrid mode and then you go down a long steep hill. I have noted it will display a full blue bar and then if enough is captured it will switch to where it displays the # of miles left. If you captured enough energy it will only switch over when you have captured at least 1 mile worth of energy.

I live in San Diego, and finally today had to use my wipers long enough to play with that. Mine acts just like yours. I agree it does seem backwards.

The door handle should of worked regardless if the door is locked or unlocked if you are inside the car. You should take it into Ford and have them check it out. If the car is off and the 12v battery is dead, nothing will work including the locks/key fob. The door handle should of worked though which is strange.. Did you try and roll the window down? Do you think you could of moved to the passenger seat and try that door?

I consider the Focus Electric but the problems I found while visiting the Focus Electric forums, caused me to stay away. When I last checked a few weeks ago it appeared some people either got ford to buy back there focus electrics or they got a fix for the "Stop Safety Now" error. I still have little ones so currently we have to keep our SUV. I would consider the Mitsubishi Outlander EV, if it ever comes to the USA.

I emailed back and fourth with my sales rep on a deal, when we came to one we setup an appointment. I arrived and the vehicle I specifically wanted would not start nor could they find the key for it. I ended up testing drive another fusion engeri with different options, that one would not start as well both required a jump start which was somewhat of a turn off. Exactly, my sales rep was more concerned on closing the deal and moving on. I probably would of walked away but I loved the car to much and the deal I thought was good.

I have noticed a lot of dealers seem to be uneducated how the fusion energi works/features. I got this email and call from my dealer.. Thought it was funny, they want me to do an oil change contrary to what the manual says. Hi *, I sincerely hope that you have been enjoying your new Ford Fusion Energi. It has been 3 months since your purchase, and now may be time for your first scheduled maintenance. Please give our Service Department a call at ********** to schedule an appointment.

You would think the programmers for the car would of added a line in the code to charge from the wall if the car is plugged in and unused for weeks. 12V battery hits pre-determined level and goes into preserve mode. Code should follow as: If car is plugged in then start charging 12V else continue shutting down unnecessary stuff/send alert about battery level.

Don't most cars post 2005 have traction control standard? Was it a lot of old cars they were turning away?

That was what I was thinking, most of the roads are plowed so I guess the only concern is ice, which you cant do anything about from what I understood. I'll report back when we go to the mountains on how it went.
