  1. I believe it is active again for all vehicles except the C-Max Energi. Those are on hold until Q4 (this is according to a Ford tech I spoke to). So you should be able to call up your dealer and see if your VIN is covered. If it is, then (pending parts availability) they should be able to order the kit and install it for you. If your VIN is not covered then you'll be on the hook for parts+labor, but even then it should not be costing $1000. The parts are about $300-400 and maybe an hour of labor.
  2. Likely you won't be able to get Ford to pay anything towards the modem swap, unless you're willing to make noise with Ford Corporate. See earlier posts in this thread for tips on that. If you're ready to pay for the swap then just call or visit a local Ford dealer and mention you want to swap out the 3G modem on your Fusion Energi. You can mention CSP 21B09, which provides details on the parts and labor required. They had paused replacements a few months ago to fix bugs and I'm still not 100% certain they have resumed doing installs now. But your Ford dealer can look it up and tell you.
  3. FordPass updated their app yesterday (iOS anyway) and among the changes it mentions: "Update corrects oil life errors" Sure enough, my oil life readout has returned, and they even beefed it up a bit. Now it gives an estimate of the time/distance remaining before the next oil change (which is a not that difficult of a calculation but still handy to have displayed).
  4. Yes I am seeing the same thing this morning on my C-Max, so it's not just you or just Fusion Energi owners. The last time I had looked at was probably a month or more ago, so I'm not sure when the error message started appearing. It could have something to do with Ford deprecating the bluetooth connection stuff from FordPass. I believe oil life was one of the parameters that could be reported via that connection without needing a TCU. But for those of us who do have a TCU, oil life should be reporting that way, so hopefully it comes back for us.
  5. Yep. That's a neat idea, but one would be better off putting that $250 towards getting the proper 4G modem... and hope that you've moved on to a different car by the time 4G gets shut down ?
  6. That's right--Journey recording in FordPass is done via a BT or USB (depending on if iOS/Android and your version of sync) to your smartphone (incidentally, Ford may be deprecating all of the BT/USB functions of FordPass, at least in some countries. I haven't seen anything official on that yet, but "rumor has it"). However, the "EV Driving Data" section that Ford placed in the My Journeys section gets its information from the TCU (the same/similar data also showed in MFM along with charging data in the trip/charge log screen). I asked about this a month or two ago (can't remember if it was here or on the C-Max forum though) and according to at least one respondent, they did not have any of the BT/USB journeys stuff enabled but were still getting EV trip data for each trip. But I haven't been able to verify this myself, since I have no info showing up in that section at all.
  7. Great! You might try deleting and re-adding the PIDs for the TCU in Forscan. I vaguely remember having at least one of them show up blank until I did that. If that doesn't work then I wouldn't worry about it. The proof is in the pudding and given that you've got data showing in FordPass that's all that matters. Good luck getting EV driving data showing up in "My Journeys". Actually, seems like more Fusion owners are reporting success with getting that to populate, so maybe it will work for you. As for me, my C-Max has never shown anything in that section of the app no matter what I do (and despite all other data uploading to Ford correctly). Hope it works eventually, because that was one function of MFM I really did look at periodically.
  8. 9 should be correct since you have a CGEA 1.3 vehicle. The bit for DS doesn't matter since as you said it's not used in your version of Sync (so it gets ignored). You could probably set it to 1 if you really wanted to turn deep sleep off, but the default value is 9, so probably better to leave it set that way.
  9. Looks correct. The bit in question is 7D0-02-02 xxxx Xxxx xxxx, where X=9, which is what you've got there.
  10. As @cr08 said, post your APIM's asbuilt as there are bits in there that need to be set to tell the car there's a TCU present. Also, on your sync screen if you go to Settings > General > About Sync is there an alphanumeric modem ESN listed (starts with U)? If so then the TCU and APIM are at least communicating on a basic level. You can try setting the 3rd & 4th digits of the TCU's asbuilt (754-01-01) to xx00 (in your case B800). After you write that change and monitor the PIDs you should see the auth status flip back to factory mode (or unprovisioned mode--I forget which). Then you should be able to set the line back to B862, write the change and the PID should show "Wait for Authorize". That's when it's ready for you to add it to FordPass and do the authorization step inside the vehicle. If you can't get the FordPass authorization step to work then you should try doing it here: https://connectedcar-sdk.com. First, log in to the Ford site from a web browser and make sure your car's VIN is in your account (if not, you can add it). Then log in with the same info to the connectedcar-sdk site and try to authorize it there.
  11. I stand by what I said. The modem is not necessary to charge and operate this or any car. There are plenty of EVs on the road with absent or nonfunctional telematics. I understand it's a matter of opinion on what someone considers important, but the fact is that if it were critical to have a modem, Ford would have made this a recall, not a CSP with a small fraction of VINs covered.
  12. For simplicity's sake, what I said is 100% correct. The guy I was responding to is not able to charge his car period and is blaming the modem. I was trying to explain that the modem has nothing to do with it. Yes, for that one specific extra feature of customizing charging based on electricity rates, you need the modem. But I was trying not to muddle the issue for him.
  13. Your car not charging has absolutely nothing to do with the modem. The only thing the modem does is give you remote access to the car's status and charging settings. I know it seems like a convenient thing to blame, but it's just not possible. The very reason Ford isn't putting more resources into this modem swap thing is because the modem really is not necessary to charge and operate the car. It's just an extra feature for convenience, nothing more. Given that you're seeing DTC codes, I suggest you take your car to a Ford dealer to have the charging issue diagnosed (make sure you bring your charger with you in case that is the problem).
  14. Well I mean yeah, a nuclear war may reduce the importance of LTE telematics on our cars a little bit ? In all seriousness though, let's try to keep this thread on-topic.
  15. To add onto the news @Titanium Tom posted above, this morning a knowledgeable person in the Cyanlabs discord said that Ford has extended the 21B09 program through 3/2023. No word on if they'll expand it to cover more cars, but at least this gives us some hope that they realize they screwed this up and are working on it.
