Also... don't let the cable get "insulated" by anything and don't let it coil against itself. The reason they caution you against using an extension cord is the heat that is generated due to the resistance from distance. Keep it free from itself and other objects and you should be fine. I used one for several months until I put in my 240V charger.

Banged out an entire trip to work today on EV. 26.1 miles. My route consisted of a few miles at 55 a few more at 65 then "stop 'n go / slow cruising" until the last 3 at about 65. Also no heated seat, but with headlights on. Headlights are always on with my gray car for safety. Need to find out from Vette where to get the DRL's turned on. Looked like I had a small tailwind for a while as well and I suppose I dropped a net 150 feet as well on a mostly flat trip. Got the batt's nice and low since my car goes EV+ when I get close to work. But, I parked in the hybrid parking up front instead of the charging stations in the parking garage so when I went back to put it on the charger in the afternoon the ICE fired right up upon starting the car. No biggie.

I think a decal directly to the paint would be better. Besides, the charge door doesn't seem heavy enough to be steel. I like the decal in the links, but I think I'd like something that says HIGH VOLTAGE and has a lightning bolt or something! People still don't know what the car is. I had some crazy old dude on my rear bumper yesterday taking pictures with his "flip phone" and motioning for me to get out of the HOV lane with both hands. Sigh... Funniest part was there was a passenger who never even looked up from the book he was reading.

Saw a funny sticker on a vintage Shelby in Vegas last week. :hysterical:

Faint Barcode on rear view mirror

You should be able to tell if it's on the surface or under the glass. If it's under the glass Ford should replace it. Looks like a scuff on the substrate to me. -
Illegal to turn on daytime running lights in California?

Well if they know, have them tell you and do it yourself. -
Level 2 EVSE Ownership - Where do you fall?
Fat Fusion replied to blars's topic in Batteries & Charging
Have and own. If you have a 24 month lease and are likely to get something similar I'd recommend a more powerful charger than the Energi can use. I plan on driving mine until 2019 when the HOV sticker expires then get something else to drive and likely a more powerful charger. -
Cool. Waiting for my letter...

I've never hit reset on the dash display and I'm at 62.0 MPG. It'd be a lot better, but I spent all of Nov and part of Dec going to a supplier 90 miles away. As you can see, I'm starting to charge a lot more and it shows. My driving routes haven't changed all that much in the last 3 months but I'm driving a little less and that shows as well. I'm at about 13k miles since Oct. Here's my Fuelly details.

I noticed the same thing. Has anyone had a little buyer's remorse thinking they should have got a pure EV? FWIW I have 23 fill ups since Oct and I charge a LOT.

How does a full battery accept regen braking energy?

Thanks! That's easy enough to test this week at work. -

I'm having an issue where I think my car is over charging. When I charge at work it's in a parking garage on the 3rd floor. Often, when I go to drive out of the garage the ICE will engage and go to RED LINE. It's not a simple engine braking scenario as I would expect. It's revving waaay too high. The white curved bar doesn't follow the engine RPM's at all. Any speculation? -
The way I look at it is my free time is worth 50 bucks an hour (or more) and the half hour I save per day works out to about $1000/mo. That doesn't include the mental health advantages of driving by tens of thousands of people on my way to work and back. I guess my point is the few hundred bucks you spent mean nothing in the long run. Enjoy your car and hope that no one ever has to test those rear seat belts. In the mean time they're a good conversation piece. Most people have never seen them.

I'm pretty sure I had the same thing happen twice. The first time I was freaking out since I had a job interview to go to. I got out and got back in and it worked. The second time was much more recently and I had to open the door and close it to reset it so it'd start.

Seat belts weren't required for the first 60-70 years of the automobile, but I doubt you'd argue they're not for safety. And the ability of the gas cap to contain fuel is not insignificant. It's not "paramount" but it's not insignificant. If you want a better charge door then make one yourself.
-
My guess also. Was it on a slight incline so gravity would take the car forward?
-
No. The gas door serves a purpose to keep volatile gasoline contained in an accident. No such worry about electrons spilling out. My guess is the door was as light as they could make it.

I saw the Ford on the complete other end of the use case scenario yesterday. We had a dyno day with the local Team Shelby group at Borelli Motorsports in San Jose. A guy brought down a 2014 Mustang Cobra Jet drag car. Ford builds 50 a year of this model without a VIN # and sold as a part number with a serial number. The beast threw down 811 HP and through the open headers it was an amazing sound. Make sure your sound is on!

To L2 or not L2 - That is the question
Fat Fusion replied to dnorris78's topic in Batteries & Charging
Good work! You're going to like charging multiple times a day. -
I'm apparently within a couple of weeks of my Sirius expiring. I have a Sirius account for my receiver in my garage, how can I find my Sirius # on the Fusion to add it to my existing account?

I have the LCS-25 that I hung on a post. I also use the Clipper Creek holster and a hoop made for a hose. It works great. Sometimes I charge 3 times in one day. -
I tend to go by the one second rule.

People should never be "stuck" behind you. If there's more than one lane, no big deal. On a single lane each direction you have an obligation to pull over and let others by. That's the CA law and the only courteous way to drive. Even in the HOV lane, I'll routinely pull over into the "fast" lane and let people pass. That would have NEVER happened driving the Boss 302!

Can you charge outside in rain or snow?
Fat Fusion replied to kacalapy's topic in Batteries & Charging
I've had mine charge during a couple of rainstorms now and it's no problem.
