Samsung is pretty impressive. They seem to go big or go home. Where I work, we sell Samsung a TON of very expensive computer chip making equipment and they can't seem to get enough. Between the mobile chipsets and phones, and the huge TV business, and now getting into batteries- they're sure covering their bases.

26k miles on mine and it's never done that.

Geez. The outside temps drop below 55* and I turn on the heater. Do you not heat your house either?
-
I hear you on the 7 car garage. My dad built a 1500 sq/ft shop in his back yard to hold his projects. Whenever I can I like to rock his '10 T.

For the past couple years it's been this Boss 302. But, I'm going to sell it to buy a house. I'll have to settle for my high school car, a '64 Falcon convertible with a 289, for fun! And of course my '99 Super Duty Crew Cab Turbo 7.3 liter diesel 4x4 with a 6 speed manual! I bought it new in early 99 and it now has over 300,000 miles on it. And when I get to the high sierra fire roads... Mad Max. And sadly just sold my 450 the other night to help raise funds to buy the house.

Hit and Run and Service Engine Soon

Sigh... Yes. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/1389-service-advancetrack-dead-accel-pedal-no-cruise/ Yes. They should both be OBD-II compliant. A code is a code, no matter how you read it. Honestly, I'd rather have the technician vary the inputs widely like you describe rather than just baby it. Unless it was a V8 Mustang. Then I'd want to do the driving! :shift: -
Probably not from what I've read. But, you never know with Ford. The bigger short term news is the reveal of the GT350 in LA next week, and the ever growing speculation of a successor to the Ford GT. The GT350 is rumored to have a "flat plane crank" like a Ferrari as well as a healthy dose of carbon fiber including wheels on the R model.

Window Tinting in California?
Fat Fusion replied to musicmafia's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
No, but my buddy did! Back on topic, what are you guys paying to tint the Fusion windows? There's a lot of them! I think I paid a little under $250 on my Boss. -
Window Tinting in California?
Fat Fusion replied to musicmafia's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
I've been ticketed in CA for tinted windows on my Boss 302. But, it's got I think 35% on the sides and 10% on the back. Oh, and I was doing about a buck ten on I5 when I got pulled over so the professional tattle tale was really looking for stuff to write me up for. He also wrote me up for no front plate at the time. Luckily, I know a cop who's just corrupt enough to sign off on BS fix it tickets like that. IMO you'd have to be doing some really stupid stuff in a Fusion to be pulled over for tint. The car just blends in too well. My old boss swears by also tinting the windshield so there isn't as much comparative tint to grab your eye. I'll be tinting my windows at some point, but probably not as much as the Boss 302. -
Don't even worry about a little water. Park it in the sun if you want to do something about it.

Yes, Adaptive Cruise. Thanks for clarifying that. -
Efficient EV Mode Driving Techniques
Fat Fusion replied to larryh's topic in Energi Driving Tips & Tricks
I've determined that the ECO Cruise is the 2nd biggest waste of energy behind speed! Seriously, if I get behind someone on the freeway they inevitably start speeding up and slowing down, over and over. The ECO Cruise tries to maintain a certain distance instead of a constantly expanding/contracting distance. I end up turning it off and maintaining a fairly constant speed that doesn't try to match the car in front of me. -

Don't you mean the opposite here? The faster you stop, the longer you're waiting to stop, which means the longer you are driving at a higher average speed, right? -
Is this the Correct Energy Management for my Commute
Fat Fusion replied to Lightfoot's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Hey Shaggy. I know your post is a little old, but I've been thinking a lot about the ECO cruise with adaptive cruise. I tend to be behind people who can't seem to maintain a certain speed- even trucks and SUV's that can clearly see ahead of them. So, I end up speeding up and slowing down A LOT as we go up US 101 to Silicon Valley. Most of the time I click off the CC when I know traffic is going to be fluctuating speed or if the person ahead of me is failing. Usually go to EV mode then too. -
There's nothing nice or little about lawsuits. And there's a special place in hell for those that encourage them.

A bona fide mystery! I've had old, well used extension cords give me that feeling before.

To me this is the easiest solution. Get an auxiliary outlet and zip tie it under the hood to something.

Efficient EV Mode Driving Techniques
Fat Fusion replied to larryh's topic in Energi Driving Tips & Tricks
I agree with everything you're saying except, "This is one reason why driving in Low is inefficient," IMO it's more efficient if you're careful about your driving since you're less likely to use the friction brakes to assist the regen. I would say, "Driving in L can be slightly less efficient." The only time I don't drive in L is right after getting a full charge. Once I drop down to 98% or so, then I put it in L every single time. Much better "drive-ability" in L, IMO. -
Driving much below the speed limit on a highway is fairly dangerous, IMO. I was almost rear ended one time doing above 70 by a guy doing way over 100. And we were the only two cars on the road, early in the morning.

Efficient EV Mode Driving Techniques

Larry would it be fair to say that speed is the overriding factor in all of this? All the micromanaging in the world can be negated by the wind resistance if you go "too fast?" Nice analysis by the way. -
Ahh ok. Wouldn't it be better to have a larger capacity battery as well if you don't drive it much?

Is the car consuming 12V power while sitting there? Why would it drop from 13 to 11.5 in a week?
