That is my point Fusion... the heavier wheels exist on the hybrid configurations but not the energi. It is strange, but before messing with that choice I would like to know why.

Congratulations... now you get to join the waiting game with the rest of us! I started another thread on charging stations you might want to check out http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/509-residential-charging-stations-now-what/ If you end up installing a charging station in your garage please let us know your experience. I think I am going to wait for a VIN before I start myself.

My dealer mentioned that they would be willing to swap wheels too, I think I need to figure out why they limited to the 17s before I do it though. There is so much technology on this car making me hesitant to mess with anything before I understand the decision. There has to be a reason they limited the energi to 17s rather then just ease of build. But if they just thought the energi was a low production car I may also go that route. Not sure yet how to confirm this. There is so much that is not yet known about this car making this purchase both exciting and scary at the same time.

I was able to use mine, roughly same expiration date I think, by making the order and leaving a deposit. I think the purpose of the deal is to get you to the dealership now. Of course your mileage may vary. On your second point, most of us around here only wish our dealerships were telling us it would take (only) 6 weeks to order. :shift:

The energi only has 17" rims... the extra unsprung weight from 19's would probably cut pretty hard into the electric range. And if you want to stay with the low rolling resistance tires then your going to drop around $400 per tire (not even sure if that tire is available in the right size to maintain proper circumference). Probably best to stick with the 17s

I didn't even realize that the splash guards were front and back! ha... what ever. I am putting them on, keeps the road tar and paint from chipping from throwing gravel etc. Sorta digging this... https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/MiniWheelSearchServlet?nonWinter=true&partNum=W0171020730W&autoMake=Ford&autoModel=Fusion&autoYear=2013&autoModClar=Energi&wIndex=69&grid=true&sw=1920 maybe in a few years.

When did you first place the order? Maybe this was changed later? I would check back. -
Got My VIN/Build Week/Estimated Delivery Today

And I have finally found the other post I referred to earlier that explains the ordering process in detail. This looks to be written by a dealership employee. Enjoy. http://greenhybrid.com/discuss/f61/ford-dealer-discusses-orders-allocation-19747/ -
Got My VIN/Build Week/Estimated Delivery Today

Just found another thread that somewhat explains order priority, and confirms what my dealer told me. Seems that the price for my xplan discount is priority 19. Not that worried though as I don't think there are that many orders coming from this dealership. Basically says that Ford (regional managers or corporate can set priority below 10, customer orders are set at 10-19, and dealer inventory is set in the 20s. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/44550-order-priority-number/ -
I have my offer written up "Contract of Sale" with both the $1,500 and $750 listed in the deal. I would recommend that you do not sign anything that does not include the rebates. I was told that if something was being offered that was better when my car arrived that I would be able to take advantage of that but I would do no worse then the $2,250 MFR Rebates. Good luck! (The brochures take a while to show up, but they should come with the $750 pvt cash offer).

It is a little odd to remove options from the top spec, but the all black was fine for me as that is what I was shopping for. I think I understand the exhaust as they would have had to engineer another design for a mostly decorative solution. Decisions I don't understand are (Titanium): 1) ugliest wheel (in my opinion) choice, I like 17" but make it a 5 spoke or y spoke 17". I would have lost a mile or 3 gas mileage to go to the 18" if given the choice. 2) the homelink is an option?? (in general tying homelink to the moonroof was a questionable choice) 3) making BLIS (driver assist) an option, but auto start included? (How many Titaniums do you think will be ordered with out Driver's assist Package -- simply a game to get the starting price down) 4) a nit for sure, but making splash guards an option on the Titanium??? If someone does not want them make a delete option like they did with the spoiler.

Got My VIN/Build Week/Estimated Delivery Today

Interesting Taylorjd -- I was told the exact opposite by my dealer yesterday. He said that all customer orders received the higher priority over dealer orders. Of course it could be up to the dealer to assign priority and therefore will change dealership to dealership. I was reading something (I think on blue oval) a few weeks back where they were trying to explain this, but I cant seem to find it. Basically they said the dealer put their priority on it but that all got reset when accepted by Ford. Based on dealership allocation (size), what was currently running down the line, and parts availability. Unfortunately this car is popular. I try not to think about the wait, but its hard especially when I pop on here everyday to see what is going on. My dealer is telling me it might be another 6 weeks before I see a VIN (Uggggh) -

Another way I have been watching is to see what is coming into the dealership. Not sure which dealership you ordered from, so you will have to change the link to yours... http://www.inventory.ford.com/dealer/University-Ford-Inc-06634/dealerLot?zipcode=44124&model=Fusion&year=2013&segment=Car&modeltrim=Fusion_F02-TPH -
My deal is done, but I would think it would be pretty hard to stack them. In truth I was surprised they took this one on top of x-plan. I am pretty sure you will get the offer, there is a 6 page thread on the blue oval forum with a lot of success stories on this topic. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/51770-ford-750-coupon/page-6?http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/51770-ford-750-coupon/page-6?

shaggy314 I have noticed that home depot is pricing their chargers the same as amazon. I might go that route in case there are issues. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/Search?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&keyword=Leviton+Evr&Ns=None&Ntpr=1&Ntpc=1&selectedCatgry=Search+All Have you ordered and installed yours yet?

I meant to post that I also requested the latest Fusion brochure (very cool btw, and this time included all the options including the energi) and on the last page I got my second $750 private cash offer. Highly recommend ordering a brochure before you go down to the dealer and placing an order.

Welcome to the forums jposs. I am lucky that in my area where I have multiple dealerships that have certification (per your post I did a quick search to see what the requirements are ( http://www.hybridcars.com/900-ev-certified-ford-dealers-by-spring/ ) and they do not seem too onerous, so one would hope that you would have a local dealership that is going through the certification process. First, I do not believe that maintenance can be required at a particular location -- just required to be performed -- to maintain your warranty. BUT I would also be concerned if my local expert was 70 miles away, and probably would not want to put myself into that situation. My suggestion would be to go talk with your local dealerships, as I would assume they would be very upfront with you about where they are in the process of certification. Let them know you are going from dealership to dealership looking for a certified dealer.

Congratulations yojroz. There is a topic in the welcome section where you can spell out your order if you want to join in. The community is small here right at the moment but very friendly.

Residential Charging Stations -- Now what?
meyersnole replied to meyersnole's topic in Batteries & Charging
Anyone install one yet? I am going to wait until I have a VIN, build date, or something before I start the process. But I was hoping to learn something from the forum about the process. Anyone care to share? -
Welcome APM! There are a lot of figuring things out as we go, hopefully you can share your experiences too.

ahhhh, Okay that makes more sense. A problem with buying a car with little to no documentation out there were no cars on the lot to look at. All the SEs that I saw did not have it and I never saw how to add it.
-
Glad to hear it is done by fob as well, my salesman was not sure about that.
-
Actually one of the main reasons I started looking at the titanium as my base model is because I did not see how to add seat memory unless you went with the titanium pkg, where it is included. I currently have memory on my car and like that when my wife drives I can put everything back easily when I get back into the car. The Acura's implementation is a bit better, but this will work.
-
Interesting... well, if they don't end up on my car that wont crush my day when I take delivery. When I ordered they said it was not an option and had to be installed at the dealership.
-
Actually the splash guards are not a factory option. If you want them (I do) just buy them and get them installed at the dealership. Mine are written into the deal but not part of my order.
