  1. EnergiManta -- I am impressed, 24 miles is about the most I have been able to do with out the engine kicking in. Now, when it kicks in I am barely burning any fuel but usually I get about 22 miles cruising up and down Davis Drive (Cary to RTP). I am up to 121 now on MPGe with 335 miles on the ODO. Given your mileage, I am guessing you can charge during the day... Jealous. Maybe I would get a bit more if I did not have a 9 hour break in the middle of the trip.
  2. Hi FusionEnergi -- the brand you want is Ford, the model Fusion '12 - 13 The type will be either Day View or Triple A. I ordered the Triple A as I was doing this mostly for the fingerprints. I never asked my dealer about this.
  3. EnergiManta -- if you are willing to drive into Cary, Sun Protection is a great place to have the work done. Its not cheap, but they do an excellent job. http://sunprotectionglasstint.com/ I had the ceramic tint installed at NC legal limit. It had the best heat reflexion index. I want to say it cost about $335 and is warranted for the life of the vehicle. They install FormulaOne tint. I have not taken pictures yet, hopefully this weekend. It is odd they went with the halogen lights, but I guess it is not a big deal to me. I have had no visibility issues yet. That is the exact mat that I am debating now. Just not sure what a plastic/rubber mat is going to do to the overall looks of the interior. Yes it will protect it, but... Maybe you can take some pics of your installation?
  4. I would be interested in this as well. I have only seen the Hybrid trunk liners.
  5. I put my choice in a separate post on the topic, click the link. It was a bit tricky to get it right, and took about 20 minutes before I was happy. Its a lot larger then your phone application, and having the screen in a fixed location makes it worse.
  6. Interesting... you will have to try first the OEM antenna before you replace it and let us know if it hurt your reception at all. I have been pretty happy with how well the original one works.
  7. I have had the car almost 2 weeks now and have already bought a few things and was wondering what others plan for their rides... So far I have bought: Screen Protector for MFT I said in my post that it only partially worked for hiding prints... I think I am changing my mind on that and really happy with that purchase. I will update my post soon. Tinted the windows (Need to post a picture... came out looking very nice) Covercraft window shade / custom fit for energi with lane assist Was not the cheapest place for these, but the only place I could find that had one that had the cutout for the lane assist (UVS100 Heat Shield: 2013 FORD FUSION ENERGI WITH LANE DEPARTURE SYSTEM (SV Silver)) Seagate Backup Plus 1 TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive STBU1000100 Bigger then I need, but I wanted to put all of my CDs on there uncompressed. (EDIT: This might be fixed now, posted what happened here. But I don't use it as it seems to slow the whole system down. Back to using a 16G USB thumb drive.) Moved the floor mats from the wish list to the ordered list. Lloyd Mats Luxe Floor Mats ordered today (got 15% off coupon - just give them your email and they will continue to send you offers. Interestingly enough I got a 10% then 12% then 15% all this weekend just by continuing to visit the site). I think these are slightly bigger then factory ones.. they will certainly be more substantial. Also move the L2 Charger off the wish list. Bosch PowerMax 30A wtih 18' cord What am I missing? What is on your list?
  8. I have started to put user names next the users who installed them. So please tell us why when you tell us your choice, so when people click on your name they know why you like that particular unit. pluggedin -- do you have a link for how to go about the Ford Charger install? Did you just start here? http://www.mrelectric.com/
  9. Oh... as of tonight I am up to 115.9 MPGe with a Brake score of 93%. Guess I am still overcoming the original 40 miles (plus 10 that I put on it during the test drive) that were not so great on mileage. 312.7 miles on the ODO.
  10. Welcome BlueFrog! Make sure you post in the Order/Build thread.
  11. So, for me its fun to maximize everything for range... a game. I would say at minimum you should learn to "brake" to take advantage of this car. I put brake in quotes because the object is to never use them. If you anticipate your stop and lightly apply pressure to your brake pedal you will actually just use the engine to stop you, and also recapture that energy into your battery. The brake coach will help you figure this out pretty quickly. In fact the coach panel is my favorite while driving in EV mode. (The brake coach will come up no matter what view if you have it turned on.) The next bit of advice I would have is if you plan to accelerate fairly aggressively then put the car in EV auto mode. It will learn your driving habits and leverage the engine on those starts saving the EV to extend your mileage. When it gets hotter out, I will let you know what the climate system does to my mileage because no way am I going through a NC Summer with out AC.
  12. I think I can help here. As Scooter mentions, the computer is guessing at your range based on previous drives and what systems you have active. If you are careful with your acceleration, braking, and travel at lower speeds you will find the number will climb over time as the car learns your driving habits. This morning mine said 24 miles fully charged - but I have been really working at maximum range. No climate control and concentrating on full recapture of energy on braking, very easy acceleration, etc. The system probably even takes into consideration the temperature. Also, remember this is a guess. I have had it tell me that I used 10 miles of range when I have driven 11 as well as the opposite. I am pretty sure I lost a few miles of range sitting in the parking lot the other day because I started the day from my garage, and left work from the outside where it was about 30 degrees cooler. Just a guess. I have already gotten over 21 miles a few times, but it takes practice and concentration. If you drive it like you would a normal car not worrying about how you break, cruise, or take off you mileage will very greatly. If you turn on the climate system your range will drop considerably. Hard acceleration and higher cruising speeds drop the power quickly. Tip, use your cruise control to help accelerate. Mine is in ECO mode (not sure how it go in that mode but I like it there) and use the resume function. It will slowly get you back to speed.
  13. That is the biggest question I get. And what does it mean to have remote start in an electric car??
  14. Thanks for the writeup scooter. One only hopes that Ford watches these communities to understand the impact. Given the job they did with the dash, I am amazed how unrefined the app seems. Other things I would like to see are the trip metrics and lifetime metrics on the vehicle.
  15. I really like the software that Ford put into the dash. I love the brake coach, and also the screen that shows brake, acceleration, and cruising efficiency. I use to drive very aggressively, but now get nearly the same fun by maximizing my "score" on efficiency. I think my wife thinks I am a little nuts. :shift:
  16. On the headlights, it is a significant step down from the xenon lights in my previous car, but this is overcome by the auto high beam feature of the car. My wife always hated me following her in my other car because of how bright the headlights were, probably not going to be an issue in this car. So far no real issues driving though, but I live in a populated area and mostly drive on lighted streets anyway.
  17. Another thing I am noticing is that the range on my car is going down during the day sitting in the parking lot. I left it this morning with 12 miles showing on the range and got in it tonight displaying 10. Lost 2 miles sitting! However, I am 101.9 MPGe lifetime over the 260 miles on the odo! Very pleased with that.
  18. I can confirm you were not the only missing this function... They were possibly over thinking this problem. My Acura lighted the middle console from above... I am guessing they didn't want to mix liquids and and the lighting.
  19. The $750 is another rebate, but I am not sure if any of those are still active. Did you order a brochure to try and get that rebate? Make sure to check the expiration date. If it is still active you can always ask.
  20. Very good week... car now has over 200 miles on it. A screen protector for the MFT. New tint on the windows. And today was warm enough for me to give it a bath... this car is going to take longer to clean with all the shapes then the previous car... it a looker but all those creases, corners, and dimples take time to clean!
  21. Yes, I think so. The car will make you accept each device that is trying to communicate with it.
  22. "I have yet to get the iOS PHEV app working. The app kept telling me there was a communication issue and to contact such and such if it continues. I'll keep working on that." I posted this in another thread, your using the wrong app. Check it out here: http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/616-myford-mobile/?p=1865
  23. OK.. after a day of playing with it here are my thoughts. It reduces fingerprints slightly. Its a little easier to clean. I does not seem to do much for glare (at least when I opened the moon roof). Overall pretty happy, just was hoping for better fingerprint reduction.... don't expect a miracle.
  24. Fusion, there should only be issues if you change something after 4/1. My $750 technically expired when I switched from my ordered car to the dealer lot car. Was my understanding that if I had waited for the car to come in, it was already in the system so no issues -- changing the deal caused a little work to be done to make it work. You should be good to go. Best of luck to you!
