Picking up my car. Did not have a full charge so the wife and I went to eat and came back afterwards so that I could make it home on the battery. -
OK, yes... I guess I said that wrong. I mean, yes it will charge the battery (my it wont brick your battery comment), but running it wont allow you to go back to multiple miles of EV range. Basically it works like the normal hybrid.
-
Right, the regenerative braking will give you range but do not think that the engine is giving producing extra energy for the battery, or do you think it is for you?
-
Well, right now I am mostly just commuting back and forth from work. The temps are great 40s-50s in the am and 50s-60s in the afternoon. So I am not running the climate at all and doing almost all my driving on battery.(22 miles a day). In a month I will turn that air on and my range will drop. I will also takes some trips in the car which will also hurt that MPGe. That number was actually higher the other day but I spent about .3 gal of gas yesterday running around town vs the .01 to .03 that I normally burn.

You might be able to sell that chart here if you make it! So the easiest way to see lifetime is to turn the car on and off. It will always show you the lifetime as the last screen (at least this is what mine is currently doing). And you have a little catching up to do, as I am at 132.8 :victory:

not sure about patience, more bull headed stubbornness! I also do software development for a living, so I like a good puzzle.

I think I have solved my issue, it took about 2 hours to sync again and seems to be working much better now. The system still seems to struggle with a large library, but seems stable for now. I have about 8,400 songs in my library.

Congratulations Dave!

My wife and I picked up the car and it had about 1/2 charge, but the dealer said we could leave it plugged in. So we went out to eat, and had a full charge by the time I drove it home. I am pretty happy with my dealer... in fact that reminds me that I have to do the survey. Remember that you will be given the chance to comment on your experience. Given all the games your dealer was playing, I hope that you let them know.

I think I have solved my issue, in the process of reindexing my music right now! Apparently the software does not like any errors or missing information in the tags, so there is some software for iTunes that can resolve this called sync my iTunes (found here: http://www.syncmyrid...terLanding.aspx) So I added the drive to my iTunes library then ran the tool against it and it found 437 things it did not like. My index is going MUCH faster then last time -- still going so not out of the woods yet, but very hopeful.

Looks like you got most of the toys! Congratulations Orangewhip!

Now is the time to put it behind you and enjoy your new car! One of the fun things I have been doing lately is setting the trip computer in the morning and watching how many 1/100ths of gallons of gas I have burned going into my garage at the end of the day. Today, none... yesterday 3/100ths! This car is very cool. I have driven over 500 miles, and about 430 something on electricity. I think I have burned less then 3 gallons of gas (my gauge is well over 3/4 full).
-
OK, let me take a try at my experience. Not guaranteed to be the right answer though. 1) The range the gauge is is displaying at any given time is a guess at how far you will go based on past and current draw. If I understand this correctly, in theory this number will become more accurate the more you drive the car. Changing the current demand will have an immediate impact on range. There is a view under Display I think on the left panel that will tell you how much current your climate control is currently pulling. Never use it... but right now I am just running down the road with out climate control. The only thing I am doing now is cracking the sun roof every once in a while to get the window to stop fogging, then close it before I freeze. On the second part of your question, from what I can tell the EV auto just runs from your battery unless you floor it or turn on your climate (heater at least) the best I can tell. This too may also get better over time as it learns how you drive and the routes you take. 2) I have also read that the 110 charger can not handle the load from the climate system. However, I have been setting go times of 7:45a and leaving about 8:15a with what appears to be a full battery. 3) No idea. I would assume it will a little as if you completely drain the battery it would brick it. I would not ever expect to see miles start popping back on the gauge though. I would think it would just be enough to support the hybrid mode.

2 white colors for Energi - what is difference?
meyersnole replied to howardbc's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
You are also correct that you will pay a premium for it (~$595), White Platinum and Ruby Red are your 2 premium paint choices. -
Not sure it would look right... http://www.carid.com/2013-ford-fusion-body-kits/painted-moldings-3138234.html

2013 Ford Fusion Energi: 21 Miles Of Electric Range From Plug-In Hybrid
meyersnole replied to Tucker's topic in Fuel Mileage
I am glad that I am getting good range off the battery, at least in this weather, I am sure when summer hits I will be ranged reduced running the air conditioning. I stopped for dinner on the way home and that cost me 4/100ths gallon of gas according to the trip computer. :happy feet: -
Also agree that this is probably a smart move.
-
Can you tell me how many songs? I am pretty sure its the number of songs and not size of the drive or files that is the issue.
-
That is pretty impressive.
