That actually makes a lot of sense. I know on my previous car that if a spoiler was added that they also had to replace the trunk springs to account for the additional weight. Sounds like someone missed a step!

Wax will last about 6-8 weeks unless you just leave your car parked in the garage. Like you said, heat kills wax. The nice thing about synthetic wax is that it is easy on easy off. Tends to last a little longer too. Purist will diss it as it does not give that typical warm finished look of wax, but it will protect your paint -- which is the whole purpose of the exercise anyway. The other main difference is the wax bonds to the paint, while the synthetics form a surface bond, like another clear coat. It is my understanding that this is what gives it a different look. The main thing is to do one of the other in my opinion. Not a big fan of Armor all anything. In some cases those products to more damage then good, especially the dash sprays. Before I sold my car, I had a detailer clay my car before waxing. Now that makes a huge difference. I would assume that doing this every once in a while would be good whether applying synthetic or caranuba. 3M usually makes quality materials... surprised to see Armor All and 3M in the same list! Going to take my new baby to the detailer in June for a clay and wax. I am a little worried about how all that plastic up front is going to age verses the painted metal. I am pretty sure we are going to start seeing a few shades of color change between the sections after 2-3 years. Hope I am proven wrong.

What is odd is that I have text set up for charge fault. Did not send a text.

No, the pollen is not sap. If you wash your car a couple time a month and keep wax on it (2x year) your paint stays looking pretty good. In theory you should wax much more, but I don't worry about my car looking like a show car. I usually keep my cars 5-7 years and they always look great when I go to sell them. There is also wax in the car wash soap I use, not sure if that does anything or not.

Yeah. The pines drop pollen by the bucket this time of year. Its a lovely shade of yellow green and it EVERYWHERE.

This actually happened to me last night. I got in the car this AM and noticed on 5 miles range. 5 miles?!? Argggg! There went my avg mpg. Anyway, just plugged it in today like normal tonight and it seems like it is working just fine. What is odd is that I normally look at the web page to see how the charge is going, except last night. Oh well, going to be checking that more often for a while. Hopefully this does not happen a lot. Also using the supplied 120v charger... Calling the electrician to install that L2 charger just moved up the list.

Anybody else change the home screen?
meyersnole replied to meyersnole's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
Yes, it must be FAT32 and I have found the system does not perform very well with too many files. I got it to work (with some playing around) with over 8000 files, but the whole system becomes very slow. I think its RAM deprived. Make sure all your tags are complete or the indexing will take FOREVER! There are some tools that will ensure your tags are good. -
You might want to check out this thread.. a lot of us have weighed in on this one already: http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/640-chevy-volt-compared-to-fusion-energi/?p=2127

Yes, like them a lot. I will snap some pics tomorrow or this weekend...but I don't want to hear it about all the pollen on the car!

Not a Mac user, but you would need some photo editing software to make that change... here is a free one: http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/freesoftware/fr/gimp.htm here is a youtube tutorial on how to resize: -
Just read in the Super News Ticker section that Ford is going to start a Video Snacks program. I really like this. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/717-video-snacks-bring-vehicle-features-directly-to-consumers/?p=2852 When shopping for this car there were so many salespeople who knew next to nothing about this vehicle. In fact when I took my car in last week to have the mud guards installed the service guy did not even know how to plug or unplug the car from the L2 charger (I left the car and asked that they plug it in after they were finished so that I could drive it home on battery). Some of the videos I have seen from Ford have been really good, looking forward to seeing more.

Opinion on seat comfort; opinion on charging port security

You sure you don't want some lightning bolts or something? http://www.simiairgraphics.com/content/b987-lightning-bolt-full-color-vehicle-graphic :camera: -
Welcome to the boards Spartyof83! At 16 miles you should be able to do EV now pretty comfortably. I got drove 22 miles today on EV running the AC on the way home.

Portable L2 Charger - around $300 or less?
meyersnole replied to apm's topic in Batteries & Charging
I think the cheapest one pointed out on the board is the clipper creek charger: http://stores.intuitwebsites.com/ClipperCreekInc/-strse-6/Level-2-EVSE%2C-Level/Detail.bok at $595 on sale. Might want to ping Mr Fusion to see if he got his yet and if he likes it. -
Hi Bobbie, larryh posted it here: http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/614-fusion-energi-on-dealer-lots/?p=2793 If you go to the main page of this forum: http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/ You will see a search forums in the upper right, right under your user name. The forum has changed considerably in the past month with the number of users and information here making that search much more useful.

Where is that do not like button. Hope you get good news soon shaggy!

My general rule is, if you are in the right lane you should feel obligated to drive at or near the speed limit. If you are in the left lane (passing lane) you should be traveling faster then the cars on your right regardless of how fast you are going. People not following that are holding up traffic. There is nothing about the performance of this car that will keep you from following the above guideline. It would get severely dusted by my previous car (Acura TL) from the line (260hp), but I have no issues keeping up with traffic in my new ride. I do chose to drive a little slower now for the sake of efficiency, but I am doing it in the proper lane.

Its no speed demon in EV only mode, but its not Yugo either. I think most of us go easy on the accelerator to preserve range in EV mode. When I test drove the car I tried to merge on to the freeway in EV only mode and wished I had it in EV Auto (where there is less of a delay getting up to speed).

Congratulations! Much more fun is ahead.

No, they did not take the car. They took stuff from inside the car. I had a stereo system that had a custom made sub box with crossover (multiple hours to build) that they liked to take. Did that twice before I decided to just buy a cheap pre made one. They took all my cassettes (remember those?) when I left them in the car one night. Crap like that. I had a 1988 Pulsar NX SE that had a T Top roof. They would somehow get one of the sections off the roof, which would set off the alarm, and grab and dash. A couple times I could see them drive off in a very nice vehicle (steeling must pay well), but it was really a waste of time to call the police. No matter how much you saw, unless they tripped over them doing it the entire time they planned to spend on that investigation was the time they spent filling out the indecent form. I would not have done it if I was not sure something was really messed up and I needed to make an insurance claim. Can't really blame them, they had much bigger problems then chasing someone who took a couple hundred dollars worth of my stuff. The alarm did save serious damage to the car though. They never had time to pull the aftermarket stereo or anything else in the car. They only grabbed what was right there. Happened about every 6 mos. Lived there for 4 years, so it happened way too frequently for my taste.

That is one thing I do not miss about living in DC, waking up at 1-2am in the am to my car alarm and watching my crap drive off down the road. 1 on each tire seemed to do the trick, for the tires at least! I had 2 alarms that didn't deter those %^&$%^ one bit.

I am still watching my dealer for the car I ordered. I ordered 1/21 (I think it was actually accepted in the system 1/23) and it is still not listed as on the way to the dealer yet. So happy with my choice to pull from inventory.

I wish I had the option to plug at work, I would not even mind $1.25 even though that would be about 3 times the cost of the electricity I needed.

Dont need them in NC, but I visit my Dad in DC... and yes, wheel locks saved my wheels at least once that I know of there. The pulled my wheel cover off and saw I had locks and moved on (was laying in the road). Driving to work, as I turned the corner I saw a car sitting on 4 concrete blocks! Small price to pay.
