    Hi

Hello dlb92. There are quite a few discussions on deals in the Build/Order thread. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/499-orderbuild-thread/?p=925 Some of the information is old, some still quite relavant. You will have to check current incentives, but I think that xplan is a great way to buy a Ford. I qualified through my work, but I understand many on here have joined the Mustang club to also qualify. Best of luck.
  2. I logged into it this am, and again just now.

    Howdy

Congratulations and welcome. Poke around, there is a lot of good information in these forums.
  4. I have always thought this was kind of a strange standard feature for an electric car. So I get the heating of the car in the winter, but unless the car is plugged in this seems like a huge waste of battery in the summer to pre cool. Even if I plan to run the air, I open all the windows first to let the excess heat out before starting to cool the car. I have also noticed that the AC works much better when the car is moving vs sitting in the parking lot.
  5. Welcome to the boards Andre07
  6. larryh has done some wonderful analysis on speed vs energy consumption. Here is one of his posts you might enjoy (there are many more... do a search) http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/1020-reported-trip-energy-used-vs-energy-required-to-recharge-car/?p=5509
  7. Here is an interesting video on how batteries work and where they are going. I found it worth the hour invested.
  8. That is good to know... have not gone to the mountains yet this year, but we usually make a trek during the Summer.
  9. I can appreciate the functionality of the side molding, but in my opinion they seriously mess up the design of the car. n
  10. Did you check out the Audio, Navigation and SYNC section of the forum? Scooter got me up and running with this post http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/818-mft-text-to-speech-and-iphone/?p=3749
  11. Nice post. I am looking forward to my first long trip next month, good to hear that the seats stay comfortable for a long drive. The gas mileage is very encouraging as well.
  12. Good stuff BadRock The screen protector really cuts down on the finger prints, I am happy with that purchase.
  13. Would have liked to have gone a little longer, but 2,500 miles has been my goal for some time. I thought about waiting for the gas warning light, but I traditionally do not like having a very small amount of energy (read gas) in case something strange happens -- like a storm that takes the power out for days. But I also felt really good about how much less gas I have been using. I use to fill up a pretty large tank (pumped 13-14 gals of premium) every week and a half. I am driving more then I did previously and using almost no fuel. My travel season is right around the corner (I travel to Florida during football season) so I decided to fill the tank all the way up. If I do not plan on any trips in the near future, then I will only be putting 4-5 gallons at a time in the car.
  14. This is the first discussion I have seen on Lithium Sulfur or Air, I know that even with the same materials they keep tweaking the chemistry to gain energy density (Volt increased their range last year). The good news here is that this seems to be a viable form of transportation and there is investment in this space. There is also research in super capacitors (and probably other forms of energy storage) that would be even better if they could get over some technical hurdles. Obviously, if you could go to the fuel station and charge up ~10 mins to go 300ish miles you would really have something. What was cool about this story was they they claim to have the science settled (it works), they just need to commercialize. Increasing numbers of EVs, lower prices, and improving technology is great news.
  15. It seems to be pretty pointless to make this connection anyway.
  16. Pretty interesting article on new types of battery chemistry under development that can quadruple or lead to an order of magnitude improvement in energy storage density. Lithium-Sulfur Battery Looks Promising For Electrified Vehicles
  17. I plan on a trip to Pittsburgh in September, so that will make my numbers plummet. Curious how well this car will do on a long trip though.
  18. By any amount of pedal, what do you mean? If you try and accelerate fast the ICE will always kick in. If you are barely pressing the pedal and it turns it on, then I would talk to the service department about that.
  19. Seeing that map reminds me of how much I do not miss driving the beltway!
  20. Welcome to the boards, poke around and join in the fun!
  21. I have a pretty short (11 mile) commute to work. If I had a charger at work then I would still be going, maybe one day they will install one. Some days I can make it to and from work with out burning any gas.
  22. Bought my car March 8 with a full tank of gas 53 miles on the ODO (I got extra testing with the early build date, and an extra long test drive). Initially I was a bit concerned the battery in the FORD was going to be too small, but just could not make myself like the Volt enough to pull the trigger. Well, over 2500 miles later (2569 on the ODO) I am sitting at the gas station doing my first refuel. WOW! I was driving a few of my office mates out for lunch, they were also very impressed with the amount of time and mileage between fill ups. Picking up my car on March 8, 2013 And now the stats...

Lifetime includes the 38 miles of testing at the factory and my test drive that I did not baby the car before I bought it (53 total miles when I bought it).
