Questions when using EV NOW; graphic showing lane lines
meyersnole replied to howardbc's topic in 2013 Fusion Energi
Howard Jump in and create a topic, its fun. You can start it with 3 or 4 and solicit more ideas, updating the top post as you get contributions. -
I actually looked at it today, and I am also at 2 bars. Pretty sure that when I am on the freeway on trips I am most comfortable with 3. However, I don't live with a lot of traffic here. If I still lived in DC I would be at 1 or 2 bars to keep the car from going in reverse from the number of cars diving in front of me. Really do not miss driving around DC, 270 or the beltway.

If you trust the cruise enough, you can change how close you travel to the car in front of you by putting it in the aggressive mode. Personally, I keep it at 3 bars... and still find myself hovering my foot over the break from time to time. Love that feature now... and my biggest fear is driving my wife's car and forgetting it wont break for me!
-
An alternate solution to the rapid braking is to just depress the "gas" pedal. This works for me at least... stops the unnecessary rapid braking. You might try that instead of canceling the cruise.

As mentioned above the DSP setting is a well known issue, but the rest sounds like the result of a master reset of MFT or an update. in any case, you should not just lose your address book or have your climate settings reset. Maybe your battery failed? Maybe a trip to the dealer is in order. http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-myford-touch http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/software-updates-sync-myford-touch

Move driver's seat an inch or so to the left on '13 Fusion?
meyersnole replied to zetecfocus's topic in Interior
Not sure I would be a fan of that type of modification. Airbags (no longer lines up the way it was designed), structural reinforcements, airbags in the door, etc. Major safety issues with that type of modification. You might want to rethink that. -
I think the major difference here is how you drive. I have found that driving with the adaptive cruise (how did I live without this????) I have little need for driving in L, as the car takes care of all of the acceleration and regeneration on declines. If you do not like to drive with the cruise, then I could see where driving in L can help. Just taking your foot off the accelerator and you are recapturing energy. However, if you are not careful with your speed regulation you could also waste energy -- sometimes L would be beneficial, other times you might be much better in N. When I took a trip in the mountains on my way to Pittsburgh I used L and even hill assist at times. It is amazing how much energy this car can reclaim driving down a mountain :shift: http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_8/gallery_42_8_39315.jpg Like many others have mentioned I have used L at many different speeds and have never had any issues.

Welcome to the boards. Poke around, make sure to use the search... but if you can't find what you are looking for be sure to ask.

Virginia to charge Hybrid, EV and PHEV owners $100 fee.

It will not surprise me when this shows up in NC. We already have our legislature looking at banning Tesla's because they don't follow the normal dealer model. I can see where this makes sense for the future if this type of vehicle becomes more mainstream, but it seems too early as we are still in an adoption period. -
The "Battery Game" - getting the most Energy for your Engeri

No AC might work up north, but in the south the heat and humidity is not tolerable. During the Summertime I spend the 5 miles on AC. I am with Murphy here... be cool! -
Had to use the fob to unlock then it wouldn't move

This happens from time to time for me as well. Kinda freaked me out the first time as well. Now I look for it. -
Interesting, how does the driver side one fit? It looks significantly larger then the originals. My mat was also larger, but not by that much.
-
Nothing earth friendly to with plastic, but the paper is compost able :) You can also donate them to your less fortunate friends. You might want to start looking into a new credit card that does cash back or miles....

This was posted in the news ticker, but just from Ford's perspective. Here is the AP Auto Writer's take... http://www.wral.com/ford-university-of-michigan-open-new-battery-lab/12991488/ Really like seeing this. Hopefully we see more automakers form more of these partnerships. Not looking for something to cover the battery, I want something in the well. That whole area is power ventilated, I would doubt a mat in that well will cause any issues. Spilling something there would be of more concern.

Need your help - Fusion Energi or Fusion Hybrid?
meyersnole replied to Charlie3831's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Congratulations on your new ride... this car is full of features, your probably going to spend a lot of time reading these forums. Be sure to ask if you can't find something. -

I agree, not sure what they were thinking here. Would have though they would have been reaching at $60,000-$65,000. Never thought the car would go that high and try to go head to head with the Tesla, especially with out increasing the size of the battery. Having said that, I hope it works as I would like to see this type of car succeed. I wish the MKZ would have had an energi version I would have strongly considered it.

Has anyone found a trunk liner for the Energi?
-
I had it in my previous car, and found it to be more troublesome then the benefit it offered. Probably true that the variance was not as much as compressed air, but when my lights did go on for low pressure I could not simply drag out the compressor and fill er up. I had to drive to the tire shop and ask for them to top them off. And this happened at least twice that I could remember over the period of less than a year.

Looks like Ford did better this last month... Ford's two Energi plug-in hybrid models both increased their sales over last month's totals: The C-Max Energi sold 758, its best month in almost a year, and the Fusion Energi sold 750, its highest-ever total. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1087257_plug-in-electric-car-sales-for-sept-sales-slacken-after-aug-record?fbfanpage

I think that is a pretty close guess. Unfortunately I need those 2 miles to make it all the way home. :shift:
