  1. I was really impressed with the OEM wipers on this car. They lasted almost 2 years before they started streaking and making noise. I was on a trip when the noise was driving me nuts and just had to replace them (at the closest store) so I put some NAPA blades on there. When those go, I will consider putting the OEM parts back on as they seem to last longer than the Bosch ICON wiper blades I normally buy (they did not have them at NAPA).
  2. I had a Premium eating TL before this car, it got about 21 miles to the gal if I was not having too much fun (around 18/19 if I was), so I know what you mean. Now I only go to the gas station if I take a trip somewhere. I do not miss going to the gas station every week.
  3. I think it is good to understand what the thoughts are around a topic, I often find the comment section more interesting than the article itself. Just don't take it personal. Sometimes you do learn something when somebody who does understand the subject matter comes in to try and contribute to the discussion on points not discussed by the author.
  4. It is sad how some stuff that was figured out on cell phones, computers, and many other common devices is still completely lost on the auto industry. I had also forgot about the daylight savings not being an option as I went through the menus 3 or more times looking for it. You can find that option on any $20 atomic clock, but not your car. SMH.

  6. Ford May Show A 200-Mile Electric Car This Year To Counter Chevy Bolt The next few years are going to be interesting for the BEV, PHEV market. I would love to see the Lincoln brand get more involved in this (I know I would have probably been driving a MKZ had it had the energi option), but I hope that Ford also works a 200+ mile range BEV into its main brand as well. I considered the Focus electric car briefly (along with the Leaf), but did not want to take the first step into this type of car with a 60-90 mile range car. I never even test drove either as once the Volt and Fusion/C-Max became an option I pitted those against true hybrid cars (Fusion/Avalon/Lexus ES hybrid). If I had the option of a 200ish mile range Leaf/Focus/Bolt, I would have definitely strongly considered them.
  7. I had issues with my key as well, I think this was solved by replacing the battery. You might want to give it a try. I agree that it seems way too soon for the battery to fail and the car is suppose to warn you of a low battery (mine did not). Not exactly sure what your issues are but I was having issues with gaining access to the car, or the car complaining that the key was not present when it actually was. Sometimes it recognized the key was there a min later other times I had to stick it in the center console in the the little box to start the car or use the code to gain access. Since replacing the batteries I do not recall having any issues, and the doors seem to be much less finicky than they were before.
  8. Sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience, have you tried to reach out to Meagan? She goes under the FordService user ID and may be able to help you.
  9. Hybridbear - I started by posting that in the FAQ (this is actually why I started this) but I quickly felt that the page would be too hard to read with full explanations next to the questions. What I just did was add a pointer to your post in Losing Charge to the end of the Variability in # of miles a full charge produces topic. Thanks!
  10. A great explanation of this can be found in the topic Losing charge by Hybridbear
  11. This looks interesting. Just wondering if they would cause issues (like fast blinkers, etc). Also mentions of pain to install. http://www.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Fusion-16-LED-Daytime-Running/dp/B00LLKHMV8/ref=pd_ybh_10
  12. Thought about doing this for some time, but at this point I am a little overwhelmed by the information in here and thought I would need to pull together a massive list before posting. This has led to no FAQ post. Alternate approach. I am going to start with a few questions and then solicit questions that I will add to this post. This does not have to be an exhaustive list, just the questions that get asked frequently. Ideally the answer points to a topic in this forum where the question has been discussed and answered. This is not meant to discourage conversations, my hope is that this list is fairly small and covers the basics. Just a place to start. Please post as a response if a question should be added or removed from this list and I will try and keep it updated. Questions: Q: How To Use This Site: Post Photos, Your Control Panel, etc? 13. You might want to check out some of the information in this site with the search. On the topic of range and what to expect I would start here: Lot of good information in this thread (Cold Weather Observations): http://www.fordfusio...r-observations/ and (Variability in # of miles a full charge produces?): http://www.fordfusio...only#entry14185
  14. 911, Lotus Elise, Vette (all from people I knew), and MG midget (first sports car I had at 16 & 17 years old -- drove like a go cart, but was a blast) are probably the most interesting I have driven. Most frightening drive was my friends Honda 500 Interceptor, almost killed myself on that thing - was at or near 70mph switching into 2nd gear. I have enjoyed driving just about every car I have owned. The sad thing about your car... is that it kills a dream. You want a car so bad, you save up for it, research it, find the perfect one... then after about 2 weeks it is just your car. When you think about the Ford Fusion Energi it is much more rare than many of the cars in this thread... probably as many people can say they driven one as any other car mentioned in this topic. Less than 20,000 sold to date. That is pretty special.
  15. What a fun topic! Lost my early pictures to a fire, but here are my cars. 1st truck was a (used) 1977 Datsun Lil Hustler (Yellow with black stripes) 2nd car (used) 1976 MG Midget special Also yellow. Both this car and the truck were shared with my Father, traded back and forth at age 16. 3rd car was a (used) 1978 Toyota Celica. Drove that car into the ground at 178,000 miles. Traded it in on the first truck I bought myself ... 4th truck (new) 1984 Nissan pickup and this got me through college. 5th car I bought my senior year in college a (new) 1988 Nissan Pulsar NSX. I wanted the Toyota MR2 really bad, but I was too big for it. 6th car was a (used) 1993 BMW 325is 7th car (used) 1999.5 VW Cabrio 8th car (used) 1997 BMW 528i First Car mod on this car with new rims. Went from 15" wheels to 17". 9th car (new) 2006 Acura TL. Having caught the mod bug, I went a little crazy on the sound system. And finally my current ride (new) 2013 Titanium Fusion energi

Had to crack the windows to turn up the volume. These amps driving Focal speakers. Sounded amazing... and I will never ever do this to a car again.

  23. This seems much more plausible. Tesla’s next competitor might not need to build a single car
