I am a full-time RV’er living in a motorhome and towing a 2018 Ford fusion energy.
According to the user manual I should leave the vehicle in accessory mode, but I have discovered that the 12volt Battery may become fully discharged in 3 to 5 hours of travel.
If we arrive at our destination and find that the 12v battery has completely discharged it’s a pain in the BUTT to resolve the issues.
we usually end up with several other messages appearing on the screen for a couple of days or until I completely disconnect the 12 V battery…
Two questions:
1. Why do I need to leave the vehicle in excess remote? The steering still works even if the 12v battery is fully discharged!
2. I have looked in the owners manual and can find no reference to how to trickle charge the 12 Volt battery before or during travel.
Any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks!!
