I bought my 2017 Fusion Energi used. Not too long after I bought the car, it stopped on me on the highway and gave me the Stop Safely Now message. I was going around 70 and hit a slight bump on the highway, and the car turned off. Pulled to the side, put it in park, turned it off and then on, and it ran fine. Since then it has happened 10 or more times. I can now reliably get it to turn off and show this message by driving on a gravel road and hitting a bump in the road at 20mph. I have had it at the dealership four times for over 4 weeks. I have also escalated to Ford corporate and they have a tech dealing with the people at the dealership. Today, they texted me an estimate to repair the car. They recommend two actions, neither of which is guaranteed to fix the problem. It looks to me like they are fishing and have no idea. Why on earth would I pay that kind of money when they don’t know if it will solve the problem? I really don’t know what to do at this point unless Ford can show the way or someone has an idea.
