    Loaner Vehicle?

Yea, I said the same thing about the plugs (shouldn't they be good for another 80,000 miles?). He said since they were in there anyway, they'd only be charging me for the parts, so why not. I said fine, do it... It's funny, until I saw Russell's note I didn't realize that I may have screwed up my warrantee by moving to Florida last year., I bought my car in NY which follows CARB rules os I had the 150,000 mile warrantee on unique hybrid parts, but now that I've moved to Flordia, my warrantee reverts to the normal 100,000 miles... It's funny too that NY conforms to the CARB rules for everything except the emissions warrantee stuff mentioned above so I would have been screwed back up there as well. I guess if I have an expensive repair on the hybrid parts after the 100,000 I'll have go register my car in California so I can get it repaired under warrantee, lol! There were two parts of the experience I especially found humorous. On the wall in the service department is a sign stating at all parts are covered for 2 years and unlimited miles including labor. I laughed at the girl who was ringing me out as I mentioned that the parts they replaced didn't even last 2 years so I guess I'll be back to take them up on that offer in a year and a half! The next was the service advisor telling me about the customer satisfaction call that I would recieve and that he hopes I would rate him well. He apologiized for not being able to offer me a loaner, and not covering any of my repairs under warrantee and not telling me about the 10% of any service coupon clearly available on thier website (I fouind it myself and used it, no thanks to him). Truth is, when I pressed him on offering a loaner his first question was ESP (no) but his second question was where did you buy it. Clearly if I had bought it there they would have helped me out. I would think he'd want to help me out after I told him I just moved down here and was going to make this my dealer. My wife and I have bought three Fords in the 4 years adn my wife is already looking to turn in her '14 stang on a '15. I definitely won't be making Brandon Ford in Brandon Florida my dealer going forward. Oh well, I'm probably going to move on to the new Volt when it come out anyway so what do I care.... Good Times!
  2. I find this particularly annoying as my company had chargepoint chargers installed at the office and charge .60/hr of charging rather than by the KWH. I accidentally left it there for 4 hours and got charged for all 4 hours instead of having it turn off after 2 hours when it was done charging... Electric was more expensive than gas that day...

    Loaner Vehicle?

Well it turned out to be a toasted ignition coil... They put a new set of plug in while they were there for the low low price of $450... Anyone else have thier igition coil go this quickly? I have 46,000 miles on the car now with about a 50/50 split of ev vs ice.
  4. I experienced the dreaded flashing engine light today as my ICE started bucking. Based on other forums it appears to be a misfire issue. Thankfully I had enough battery left to get to a charging station so I could get to a Ford Dealer. They said they can't even look at it till Friday and they won't offer a loaner unless I have the Ford ESP. Is this the same experience everyone else is having? Thanks, Marc
  5. So is it bad that I haven't received my check yet? I called them in September to check in and they said they hadn't sent it yet but that it should be coming... Hmmm...
  6. So far in the last week I've come out to my car to find one of the windows rolled down on its own. The first time was when I was coming back from vacation and approached my car in the airport garage. I noticed the drivers side window was missing so I thought someone had broken in, but I found no glass. i got in and rolled up the window and asked myself how long has this been open here ( I had left 11 days earlier). Later last week I came back to my car at a charging station and this time it was the passenger window. Anyone else have this happen to them?
  7. I ended up buying the Clipper Creek unit that included the dryer plug. This made my install simple as my laundry room shares a wall with my garage, so I just tapped into that and added a dryer recepticle in my garage. As long as I don't dry clothes during the two hours a day that I am charging, I am good. I wrestled with whether to install a 240 charger as well, but the 30% Fed tax credit and 50% New York State tax credit made it a no brainer. That and the fact that pre conditioning was impossible with my 110... You will definitely love it!
  8. I find old folks with handicap stickers occupying them occasionally at the local Kohl's as they seem to think they are handicap spots... Other times I find meathead's in F150's in the spots at the local gym. The problem is that they've put the charging spots really close to the locations, and they all say "EV Preferred" and I bet it frustrates folks who see them empty every day, so they just use them. They should put these spots further out, but that would cost them more to run line, and dig up the partking lot, so i understand why they are where they are...
  9. I've experienced that if I start in EV Onlly mode. If i start in Auto instead, then all the modes are available to me. I gernally start out in Atuo for the first 3 surface stree miles, then EV Later for around 6 higher speed miles, then switch back to auto for about 7 miles of rush hour stop and go, then back to EV Later for a bout 5 high speed miles before finishing off in Auto for another 3 miles of surface street driving. This leaves me with about half a battery for my trip home which is basically everyting I've talked about in reverse. In my case I notice the mode lock out when I started the day in EV Now and when I got to the bottom of the large hill from my house when I had used L to go into a higher regen, it must have needed to fire up the ICE to provide engine braking instead of regen braking and I no longer had control over any modes...
  10. I set my recurring go times and they work perfectly although it seems to work best when I set the go time for about 10 minutes before I need to leave. I just use the MFM website and it syncs within a couple of minutes. Do you even get a message saying that your go times have been synced?
  11. That is excellent feedback, thank you both. Now the only thing I have to consider is the 12V battery drain from sitting. I know this is a big issue with the Prius but I can't recall if that is an issue with the Fusion
  12. My wife is considering a PHEV as her second car and getting rid of her Edge. The Edge was primarily a winter car as she drives her convertible for most of the other 3 seasons. I know when we park the Edge for extended periods of time the brakes are basicly rusted to the discs and we have to do some fun 60 to 0 stops to blow the crap off of them. Do you think the regen brakes would suffer a similar fate? She always garages the convertible so this other car will definitely be sitting on the gravel behind the garage 100% of the time.
  13. There definitely is a setting you need to update in the car. Mine came set so only the drivers door would open by just grabbing the handle while locked. I went into the settings menu and changed this to all doors and now anyone can open their door by just grabbing the handle if I' m in the neighnorhood of the car.
  14. I still haven't seen any others in my area and mine is the only one my dealer has ever sold. He did say he had sold a C-Max energi but that was it.
